Notice I said faith, not belief which can be two entirely different things. Right now I sort of feel foresaken after the events over the past couple of days. It just seems like God doesn't care about us Americans anymore. :(

I know the feeling. It feels that to be a Christian is to court constant disappointment

Many times we are told to Endure throughout the New Testament. Think about that: If we are to "Endure," that means that things are going to be rough for the True Christian. We are told to be prepared to suffer. And if it helps any, God tells us that it is He alone that sets up kings and rulers. So if God is the one that empowers some servants to be a king or president, in no way could we ever say that the Lord has forgotten us. We are never forgotten. Worry not . . . God is in total control of all things.

Daniel 2:21 NLT - "He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars."

I really want to be, but why would He allow all this to happen to His people? :(
"I really want to be, but....?"

What? If our life does not work out perfectly, if things get tough, we will re-think our commitment? LOL. Really?

Are we fair-weather believers or are we 'no matter what the cost is, I will follow you' believers? This is the valley of decision we are all being led into by the Lord. Absolute surrender yields absolute faith. And that, brothers and sisters, is what God is asking of us.

blessings,

Gideon

In the end I still follow Him even when I feel forsaken.

Hello April,

Do you have children? I have 6 including one very special to me..

As special as he is to me, God loves him even more..

It can be an overwhelming thing to ponder the love of our Creator for us,
For who can stand, naked before the Ancient of days...
Yet He loves us with a perfect love, suffering and rejoicing with us..

Be not afraid!

Peace be with you!

In the end I still follow Him even when I feel forsaken.
I remember reading Andrew Murray and he was talking about the spiritual imagery of the love relationship described in The Song of Solomon. As the relationship begins, it starts with My Beloved is Mine. But as it deepens, it changes to My Beloved is Mine and I am My Beloved. But in the end, it was simply I am My Beloved's.

Nothing on earth matters except what we do with God. Nothing.

blessings to you, April Rose

Why do you insult God by calling Americans His people?
The Israelites were God's exclusive people, but He cast them away due to the multiplicity of their sins.
Although such a defiance on Israel's part is more egregious than crimes committed by a nation not chosen by Him and given His precepts, but what makes you think that America has any more favour or admiration from God, than any other nation that we watch suffer and get decimated by civil war, famine, genocide and tyranny, every single day?
I think that America is a putrid cesspool, despite having a few devout and honourable people living there. But, I feel the same way about every country in the world, as far as God is concerned.
What are you American, or Christian, ...no, you can't be both (Matthew 6:24)?

Preach Faith Until You Have It! - RW Schambach. This video did over a thousand views in its first day.

And to describe the video.... John Wesley was almost in despair after a disasterous trip to America and loosing his dad. He did not have the faith to continue to preach. When death stared him in the face, he was fearful and found little comfort in his religion. To Peter Böhler, a Moravian friend, he confessed his growing misery and decision to give up the ministry. Böhler counseled otherwise. "Preach faith till you have it," he advised. "And then because you have it, you will preach faith." On May 24th, 1738 he opened his Bible at about five in the morning and came across these words, "There are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, even that ye should partakers of the divine nature." He read similar words in other places. That evening he reluctantly attended a meeting in Aldersgate. Someone read from Luther's Preface to the Epistle to Romans. About 8:45 p.m. "while he was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ, I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone for salvation; and an assurance was given me that He had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death." Once acquiring this faith he started a revival that would lead to the Pentecostal and Charismatic one today.

I feel a little faithless now as well idk why, maybe its Gods gentle touch, he knows what we need when we need it so if he feels that i need less gas on the old faithometer then i guess he has his reasons, personally i would like to strengthen my faith and god knows this but he is patient so i am very grateful that god is so humble that he would let me take my time and go at my own pace & pick me up when i stumble. we are all under his wings guys we are all very blessed.

Greetings, DNB.

The apostle Paul identified himself as a Roman (Acts 16:37-39; Acts 22:25-29).

Under your criteria, he could therefore have not been a Christian, yes?

God bless,
Hope you are well.
You know what I mean, HIH. Paul did not question God's actions or make his appeal to God, based on his Roman citizenship, ....in your example, he was addressing the Roman procurators at this time, who's jurisdiction affected his immediate demise(give unto Caesar, what is Caesar's).
He never contemplated God's will in the world according to His love for Rome.
Paul's soteriology or ecclesiology did not include any citizenship or patriotism to Rome.
You do understand the difference, correct?

Of course not. But yours was a blanket statement, and you can actually be an American and a Christian, just as you can indeed be both a Roman and a Christian.

God bless.

Thanks, blessings to you as well. :)

Know this dear sister: Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Romans 5:3-5
