i used one of my prescriptions the other day. i wasnt trying to self harm. i was just trying to cope so i wont get down.
i dont feel guilty . but i know it is wrong. i feel like i would do it again if i feel low enough. i just know i would confess about other things but otherwise i jsut dont know.

What's wrong with using a prescription?

Also, what's wrong with getting down...or feeling low?

Personally, I've simply been letting whatever feelings want to wash over me...wash over me. I've been clean for about 6 months and I recently quit cigarettes. I was smoking one here and there. I also greatly diminished my caffeine intake.

I hope that you will find a place of solace amidst any kind of storm washing your way.

Yah bless.

Well, I just smoked a cigarette...

Now I'm having some double chocolate fudge brownie ice cream to take the taste away!

I wrongfully turned to a cigarette to deal with some turbulence...

But, there were other ways I could've responded that would've been way worse...so...

I guess I used the cigarette as a tool.

Thing is...it was my own turbulence...and I saw it coming.

Does this mean that I wanted to smoke a cigarette...?

I guess I can psychoanalyze all my thoughts and behaviors ad nauseum, but in the end...it was plain and simply...doubt.

Sorry to hear about the D word.

And may Abba Yah bless your efforts to not be ruled by any substance.

For me, as far as the drugs are concerned, I just found that I could not be of any use to others when I indulged in them.

Some people may be able to use certain substances as a tool that actually aids them in being in a position to help others.

Cigarettes are known to contribute to serious health issues, so I do not smoke them regularly, because it is more profitable to be around to help others...for now.

But, then again, I ride my Ebike everywhere like a madman...and I've had several accidents...

In fact, I just got a ticket today for riding against traffic. This is the turbulence that I mentioned earlier...

I do not like any police contact...especially in my circumstances...

Be careful on the Ebike. I go for walks and people that drive are always distracted by their phones and swerving into my direction. Being on a bike even more dangerous.

Yeah I got into some trouble when I wasn't taking my psych meds a decade ago, I understand the police thing. I almost got shot.

I'm just worried about getting cancer. I don't really see it as a sin, but it does, like you said, get in the way of serving God. For me it's a selfish habit.

What about the triptans? Like I said, I didn't notice any affect on me when I took them, but that was 15 years ago.

Have you tried drinking a little coffee instead of triptans for a slight upper. It's probably safer as if you abuse the triptans then when you get a migraine it might not work. At least that's what my neurologist told me.

Hmmmm, I don't know...all the drugs I've taken were at the street level...

Well, actually, I snorted some Wellbutrin a long time ago (like 20 years ago), but it was someone else's prescription...

I'm sure there's some adverse side effects...there usually is with all synthetic substances.

@lilygrace may be able to shed some light on this.

Found this:

"Triptans have few side effects if used in correct dosage and frequency. The most common adverse effect is recurrence of migraine. A systematic review found that "rizatriptan 10 mg was the only triptan with a recurrence rate greater than that of placebo".[19]

There is a theoretical risk of coronary spasm in patients with established heart disease, and cardiac events after taking triptans may rarely occur.[20]"

Yeah my neurologist told me not to take them unless I'm having migraine auras. Then it can stop a migraine attack, but it's not for chronic migraines as they will stop working after repeated use.
