Hebrews 8:10
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
I was hoping someone would mention this promise of the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34). The OP left it that because Christ kept the law perfectly, that we are under no laws whatsoever as long as we trust in Jesus. Wrong. The old flesh is contrary to the written laws. Jesus made us to be born again with a new nature with the laws written on our hearts, so that instead of being contrary to the laws, they are part of our new nature to keep naturally.

Romans 4:8 says that God does not charge you with your misbehavior, or your carnality, or what we think of as sin.

Notice that Romans 4:8 says, "Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin." It does not say who that man is.

If it is talking about the person who is born of God, it is talking about someone who "cannot sin" (1 John 3:9) and therefore would be speaking of the sins that they committed before becoming born of God.

What is "eternal Life"?
Its the forever effect of being sinless, because Christ has paid for all your sin.
So, you end up, born again, sinless, as Righteous as God, having been "made Righteous" by God.

We are as righteous as Christ in a practical sense (1 John 3:7, Romans 5:19, Matthew 5:6).

If this means that we are sinless, then the result will be that we don't sin any more.

While I will say that we are not sinless in Christ (1 John 1:8, 1 Timothy 1:15, Romans 7:18); but that, rather, the element of sin, while still dwelling within us, is rendered dead (Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24, Romans 7:8) so that it no longer has any say over our behaviour (Romans 6:14).

The blood of Jesus that saved you, keeps you saved.

Which means that it keeps you sanctified (1 John 3:6, 1 John 2:17).

Your wording is just a bit off my dear loved sister .
We are not UNDER the law . However just because we are under grace does not mean we make VOID the law .
If we are dead to sin , then we are alive unto Christ . Making the law void simply means things like
oh its okay to sin or be homosexual cause we aint under the law . WRONG . Sin is still sin .
We cant now call good evil and evil good just cause we under grace . Grace dont teach us that .
IT teaches us to DENY evil , deny the flesh , deny ungodliness . The love that comes from GOD
which is implanted unto the heart of a lamb , would LOVE GOD , CHRIST , Above all and from that
would love its neighbor as itself . And if they did that , they would do no evil . LOVE fullfills . IT dont allow us to FEEL saved in sin
IT actually fullfills the law . MANY folks have forgotten this , OR in truth never knew it .
JESUS did not come so we would make void TRUTH , make void the law , or allow us to feel saved and love sin .
Nope . He came to set us free from SIN and HE who had the power over death , which is satan .
HE came to create a people who would worship GOD in SPIRIT and in TRUTH . AND SIN , Trangression , does not serve GOD .
You all are dearly loved . But who a man serves is who a man belongs too .
Whether the flesh , sin ..................unto death , or obediance unto righteosness . JESUS will give us all we need to walk as we ought too .
But let us remember , IF ye follow the SPIRIT ye shall live , but if you follow the flesh , YE shall die .
Follow the SPIRIT . And the fruit of the SPIRIT proves what .........................that which is ACCEPTABLE TO GOD .
And sin is not . YE shall indeed know them by their fruits .

You misunderstand. I agree we are not under the law of the Old Covenant that was kept by a nature contrary to it. But the greater law of the New Covenant written on our hearts that we naturally keep. Romans 3:31. We establish the law.

As far as homosexuality or any of the other sexual sins that heterosexuals commit, they are not part of the new nature either.

In the analogy that Paul gave we cannot be married to the Law and Christ, it's one or the other, the Old or the New.

By faith in Christ we are in the New Covenant which makes us dead to the Law.

Our focus can no longer be on keeping Law, but keeping faith in Christ. He did what we could not do, He kept the Law completely and by faith in Him the Father sees us as Law keepers not Law breakers.

The Covenant of Jeremiah 31 is the same New Covenant that Paul teaches us in his epistles, the same as I have described above. In Jeremiah 31, God is speaking to Israel who would reject Christ but in the future, as Paul also tells us, all of Israel will accept this New Covenant and be saved. God will write in their hearts this Covenant that will last forever for the Jews and the Gentiles alike.

Jeremiah 31 is directly pointed to the Jews, and indirectly toward the rest of the world who accept Christ.

Those who are under the New Covenant have the law written on our hearts and in our minds (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 13:8-10, Galatians 5:14; Romans 5:5).

Our being delivered from the law means that we are no longer under its condemnation; not that we are no longer governed by it.

See also James 1:25 and James 2:10-12.

You are missing the contrast between Romans 7 and Romans 8. We must be born again of the Spirit who keeps the righteous requirements of the law through us. We don't sin just because we trust Jesus to save us. Do you understand that we are a slave to righteousness?

Are you a Seventh-day Adventist or Messianic and keep the 7th day Sabbath?
I don't keep the sabbath perfectly; but I do try to keep it on Saturdays.

I am not 7th day Adventist or Messianic; but I was influenced by books from the former early on in my Christian life.

correct we are governed by THE SPIRIT . And who is the comforter , JESUS is .
Thus we would walk as Did He . So simple . Let us continue in Christ . And if any does err , correct them .
Confess your faults and pray one for another . Follow Christ .

Amen and when we walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, the righteousness of the law is (practically) fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4). Not the letter, but the spirit (Romans 7:6).

Really? I didn't know that. I was raised a Seventh-day Adventist, and do not keep the 7th day Sabbath. By keeping Jesus every moment of every day, called "today" we fulfill the righteous requirements of the law. Jesus is the fulfillment of ALL the holy convocations of Leviticus 23. Go read the first one.

The 7th day is the letter of the law. Jesus is the Spirit of the law. "I will give you rest."

It's not an issue that anyone is to divide over, according to Romans 14.

Exactly. I love SDA's because of their keenness for holiness, and still have a very soft spot for them. I pretty much despise liberal Christians who brag how much they sin as if grace abounds more in them.

I really love @BarnyFife.
Luv u 2, CL. ;)
My father-in-law told me a story about a pastor he was studying with who said he could kill his neighbor and molest his wife and he'd still go to Heaven.:confused::rolleyes:o_O
That's just sick.
