So? Who's arguing Against Baptism?
I'm not!

Its not a mystery.

Grace Alone ...applies to God.
Without Gods Grace...nothing else Holy IS manifested or Given a man.

Faith Alone ...applies to man.
Without Faith in a man...nothing else "Eternally Holy" IS manifested or Given a man.

You certainly can TRY to have Salvation, wisdom, Gods Seed, A Born Again Spirit, Forgiveness, Eternal Life, Truth, Works, Gods Spirit... without FAITH... and the result will be a Failure.

Three things are eternal (and therefore inseparable) faith, hope, & charity, and the greatest of these is charity! 1 cor 13

And never “faith alone”!

Rev. 2 I know thy works! I thought faith alone is all that mattered?

Heb 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

How can salvation be by faith alone in Christ alone thru grace alone?

Faith alone?

1 cor 13:2 and 13:13, Phil 1:29, James 2:24 Mk 16:16 Jn 3:5 Titus 3:5 oppose faith alone!

Christ alone?

John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Romans 4:24
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Not Christ alone must also believe on the Father who sent Christ!

Grace alone? Mk 16:16 faith and baptism!
Jn 3:5 water and the spirit! Ez 36:25-27

Not grace alone but, grace thru baptism of water and the spirit, and a new heart full of love of God!

Matt 5:7 mercy thru merciful
Lk 7:47 forgiven by love
1 pet 4:8 charity covers sins
Jn 20:21-23 sins forgiven

Acts 22:15 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Jn 3:5 born again refers to baptismal regeneration

MORTALIUM ANIMOS

ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PIUS XI
Christian unity

12. Let, therefore, the separated children draw nigh to the Apostolic See, set up in the City which Peter and Paul, the Princes of the Apostles, consecrated by their blood; to that See, We repeat, which is "the root and womb whence the Church of God springs,"[27] not with the intention and the hope that "the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth"[28] will cast aside the integrity of the faith and tolerate their errors, but, on the contrary, that they themselves submit to its teaching and government. Would that it were Our happy lot to do that which so many of Our predecessors could not, to embrace with fatherly affection those children, whose unhappy separation from Us We now bewail. Would that God our Savior, "Who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth,"[29] would hear us when We humbly beg that He would deign to recall all who stray to the unity of the Church! In this most important undertaking We ask and wish that others should ask the prayers of Blessed Mary the Virgin, Mother of divine grace, victorious over all heresies and Help of Christians, that She may implore for Us the speedy coming of the much hoped-for day, when all men shall hear the voice of Her divine Son, and shall be "careful to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."[30]

And never “faith alone”!

I thought faith alone is all that mattered?

Faith alone?

Grace alone?

Scripture Speaks, but you hear not.

Grace given, applies to God...Not man.
Without Gods Grace...NOTHING ELSE "good"...would be Given Man.

Faith received, applies to a Man...Not God.
Without Faith Received from God...NOTHING ELSE..."good" would be received by a man.

Grace alone... is a beginning.
Faith alone...is a beginning.

You can mention....hope, charity, works, Salvation, Quickening, and Umpteen other things....
NONE whatsoever which would possible...
Without Gods Grace and Faith In a man.

This conversation is over.
I can not understand "for you".

Glory to God,
Taken

Oh there are still true a few true ones left . But most today teach many things that are quite contrary
to what the original ones taught . And those DO NOT get followed but rather exposed .

I like your post, but let me say-ask:

The Sabbath keeping 'Christian church' which made this claim (that it <arose in Ethiopia directly as the result of this conversion and baptism>) made <this claim>, itself? Or do other churches tell the story?

Then next, this alleged <<conversion and baptism>>... Where is it recorded? In Acts 8? Show me?
Geddes, The Church History of Ethiopia, p. 9.

there are no originals

That is your RC lie.

Factor 1: If you have hundreds, thousands, or just say ten scraps of paper from different times, dug up in different places, handwritten, which letter for letter are corresponding and identical letter for letter, it is incontrovertibly established they were copied from an 'original' writing.

Factor 2: If you believed the Almighty God is the Keeper of his Word spoken for the salvation of his People on earth, God graciously, TO SHOW HIS ALMIGHTY POWER OVER ALL WICKEDNESS, incontrovertibly establishes His Written Word through all times in every place on earth, be it that HIS WORD MIGHT HAVE FALLEN INTO THE HANDS OF THE WICKEDEST POWER THAT EVER DWELT THE EARTH, THE CHURCH EVEN MORE WICKED THAN SATEN AND ALL HIS ANGELS.

By these two factors alone the 'Original' Scriptures are PROVEN FOR A FACT. ... wise guy ...

Then, if out of nowhere and once (perhaps twice) a piece of the same paper is discovered with a clearly more recent addition inserted somewhere between or beside the 'original' exactly identical content, any sane mind will comprehend this, is no original. This, in this diatribe applies to verse 37. ... wise guy ... go where I wish your whole Antichrist church to go!

How did the eunuch know about baptism?
Why does he desire it for salvation?
He did not know a thing about the baptism of Jesus.
There is no sign that he desired salvation.
He saw water in a desert and for nothing would miss a quick bath.
By every indication the man for obvious reason was in a hurry to save his own skin.

Jesus Christ continues HIS ministry in His new covenant church thru Peter, the apostles, and their successors with the same mission, power, and authority!
Mt 16:18 Mt 28:19 Acts 1:17 acts 8:31 & 35 Lk 10:16 Jn 8:32 Jn 13:20 Jn 15:5 Jn 16:13 Jn 20:21-22 eph 2:20

Lk 10:16
He who hears you hears me...

John 13:20
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Jn 20:21 as my father sent me, so send in you. (The apostles) same power mission and authority as Christ!

Teaching authority of Peter and the apostles and their successors!

Teaching authority of the Apostles and their successors founded in the one true church by Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ is the head of the church, (eph 5:23) the body of Christ,
(col 1:18) the new and eternal covenant, (pre-figured Jer 31:31) (Heb 8:8) new covenant replaces the Mosaic covenant, (Heb 8:13) Christ replaces David as king, (Lk 1:32-33) Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and men, (1 Tim 2:5 & Heb 12:24) but a mediator remains on earth mediating between God and His people, but Christ ascended to heaven, (acts 1) before He did He founded His church, on Peter, and the apostles, and their successors!
Mt 16:18 Mt 28:19 Acts 1:17 acts 2:42 acts 8:31 & 35 Lk 10:16 Jn 8:32 Jn 13:20 Jn 16:13
Jn 20:21-22 eph 2:20

We must be taught by Peter, the apostles, and their successors! Lk 10:16 Matt 28:19 Jn 21:17

Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Lk 1:4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

Acts 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Col 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

The obedience of faith!

Rom 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name.

Taught the one true faith revealed by Christ to His apostles! Eph 4:5 Jude 1:3

We are not commanded to read and make doctrine for ourselves but obey those who God puts in authority to teach the Christian Faith!

Keys of authority! And power to bind and loose! Matt 16:18 and Matt 18:18

Moral authority:
(Teaching)
Necessity of being taught by Christ:
Two edge sword: defining truth and condemning errors, and Interpreting scripture.

Jurisdictional authority:
(Governing / administering)
Necessity of Peter and the apostles and their successors to govern the holy church.

Spiritual authority:
(Life of Grace)
Sanctifying thru the mass and Sacraments

"It does not suffice to believe. He who believes and is not yet baptized, but is only a Catechumen, has not yet fully acquired salvation." St. Thomas Aquinas

"Now, even the Catechumen believes in the Cross of the Lord Jesus, but unless he be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, he cannot receive remission of his sins nor the gift of spiritual grace." St. Ambrose
"Without the Sacrament of Baptism, no one is ever justified. If anyone says that Baptism is optional, that is, not necessary for salvation: let him be anathema." Council of Trent

I wasn't aware that Faith, Grace and Christ were present either.

“There are three ways in which sins are forgiven: in baptism, in prayer, and in the greater humility of penance; yet God does not forgive sins except to the baptized” (Sermons to Catechumens on the Creed 7:15 [A.D. 395]).
St. AUGUSTINE

E) “As many as are persuaded and believe that what we [Christians] teach and say is true, and undertake to be able to live accordingly . . . are brought by us where there is water, and are regenerated in the same manner in which we were ourselves regenerated. For, in the name of God, the Father and Lord of the universe, and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, they then receive the washing with water. For Christ also said, ‘Except you be born again, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven’ [John 3:3]” (First Apology 61 [A.D. 151]).
JUSTIN MARTYR

TERTULLIAN
“Happy is our sacrament of water, in that, by washing away the sins of our early blindness, we are set free and admitted into eternal life. . . . [But] a viper of the [Gnostic] Cainite heresy, lately conversant in this quarter, has carried away a great number with her most venomous doctrine, making it her first aim to destroy baptism—which is quite in accordance with nature, for vipers and.asps . . . themselves generally do live in arid and waterless places. But we, little fishes after the example of our [Great] Fish, Jesus Christ, are born in water, nor have we safety in any other way than by permanently abiding in water. So that most monstrous creature, who had no right to teach even sound doctrine, knew full well how to kill the little fishes—by taking them away from the water!” (Baptism 1 [A.D. 203]).

“Without baptism, salvation is attainable by none” (ibid., 12).

ORIGEN
“It is not possible to receive forgiveness of sins without baptism” (Exhortation to the Martyrs 30 [A.D. 235]).
