I believe if one can read into Revelation one can see the book is written to the whole Christian church....

The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; - Revelation 1:20 - Revelation 2:1

Ephesus - Messianic - Beginning with the Apostle to the Circumcision, Peter
Smyrna - Martyr - Beginning with the Apostle to the Un-Circumcision, Paul
Pergamos - Orthodoxy formed in this time... Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
Thyatira - Catholicism formed in this time - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
Sardis - Protestantism formed in this time- A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
Philadelphia - Wesleyism formed in this time - To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love.
Laodicea - Charismatic movement formed in this time - Beginning with DL Moody, the first to make money off of ministry

Candlesticks - Seven church congregations
Stars - Individuals within the congregations, all held in the right hand of Christ
Seals - The seven seals sealed each congregation within the lambs book of life

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. - Revelation 5:4

Yeah. That's where Jesus kind of gave the churches a report card type deal. Right?

Yes! I have often thought that the difference between the Sardisean and the Philadelphian is that one congregation did not believe in backsliding but the other practiced it!

"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out:" - Revelation 3:12

I am a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church which sprung from Methodism. It is aggravating that we have not had a good revival in decades!

It was written for All Generations. Past, present and future.

One of the biggest Keys to understanding the Book of Revelation is to realize that it uses the Macrocosm (Without) to teach what is happening in the Microcosm (Within).

You will not find that information in a Church or Denomination. Satan has made sure to keep that hidden from the public.

I hate the fact that Satan is way smarter than us.

No worries OP. We got this.

Check out this verse...

Luke 11:40
"Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?"

Jesus wants to make sure we do not ignore what is happening on the Inside.

I favor the KJV version of this verse...

Luke 17:21
"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

By comparing the Book of Revelation to Human Anatomy, something incredible happens.

It matches up with stunning precision and reveals Great Mysteries.

Many, if not most of the prophecies in Revelation deal with the history of nations and the church from the time it was written to today and beyond. All of history since the first century is included that pertains to God's people. That history is a lesson book for what is to take place tomorrow. And there's not much of tomorrow left.

I know of the place and have been banned there several times. Sometimes it is very aggrevating and leaves me wondering if it is because my username is rockytopva!

What many don't realize is that the church of the very last days is the Laodicean. Quite sobering when we realise we are all members of it. For most of those members, Jesus is still on the outside crying out to come in. Sadly, His bride is reluctant to be clothed in that white raiment... His righteousness.

Had you said that Christendom resembles the Laodicean church, that would have been correct. But to say "we are all members of it" would mean that all Christians today are unconverted (which is patently false).

You will note that if you carefully read what Christ says about this church and its members, it is addressed to professing but unconverted people calling themselves Christians. The terms "wretched", "miserable", "poor", "blind", and "naked" cannot possibly apply to regenerated Christians. As a result Christ stands outside the door of each of their hearts and knocks. However, Christ is within every genuine believer.

While I agree that there are some genuine Christians in this church, I would remind you that it is a church. The letters are written to churches. These churches have angels overseeing them... They are represented in the vision as candlesticks, and Christ is among them.

I like to watch a lot of documentaries based on this enigmatic book. The members in this section seem to be mainly heavyweights on this forum so I'm curious to know your opinions on what seems to be one of the many debates about this book.

Do you believe that Revelation was written for the people in John's time or for our generation?
It was written to 7 specific churches but applicable to the entire church age.

Just like the rest of the Epistles were.

I was just curious because you would think that it being in the bible that God would have made in a way that we could understand, but yet it's one of the most debated books in the bible I believe. I've attempted to read it in the past but it's so convoluted it's unreal. A Jewish man from the chess club once told me that in order to attempt to understand it I need to have an understanding of ancient Greek and Hebrew texts. My high school teacher who was a very well educated man told me that it is ultimately unsolvable, but I don't believe that.
The book of Rev is easy to understand.

The key is to take it literal with a few signs.

Many people are confused about the background of the Book of Revelation. Some Bible translations say that the Book of Revelation is the revelation of John, but this isn’t entirely true. Revelation 1:1 tells us, “The revelation [is] from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon take place

Hello @Kaz,

You need go no further than the title to know what the book of Revelation is about. It's God-given title is, 'The Revelation of Jesus Christ', and it concerns the second advent of Christ, and all that is associated with it. A knowledge of the content of the Old Testament Prophets is important in regard to it's interpretation. It was written by John the beloved disciple of the Lord Jesus.

- In the Old Testament we have the King and the Kingdom in promise and prophecy.
- In the four gospels the King is presented, proclaimed and rejected.
- In the Acts period the Kingdom is re-offered and again rejected.
- In the later epistles of Paul (Eph. Phil. Col. 1 & 2 Tim. Tit. and Phile) the King is exalted
and made Head over all things to 'the church which is His body' (The mystery):
and the Kingdom is in abeyance (Heb. 2:8).
- In the book of Revelation the King and the Kingdom is unveiled.
The King enthroned. The Kingdom set up.
and Promise and Prophecy fulfilled.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

;)
I will give an example...

Revelation 4:4
"And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold."

  • The Throne represents the Heart
  • The Twenty Four Elders represent the Ribs surrounding the Heart
  • The Seven Spirits of God is the Breath in the Lungs
  • The Slain Lamb is the Blood that pumps through the Heart
See that?

This Within/Without dichotomy is all throughout the Text.

God uses Human Anatomy to help us solve the riddles of Revelation.

I will show another example...

Revelation 12:1
"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:"

The above verse is a picture of the Moment of Conception.

Here is my interpretation...
  • The Woman represents Sarah
  • The Moon represents the Zygote in her Womb
  • The Sun she is clothed with is Abraham's Seed
  • The Twelve Stars are the DNA/Genetics of the Twelve Tribes
With these new Keys of understanding, we can now take verses like this literally...

Revelation 6:12
"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;"

The Moon (Zygote) becoming as Blood (DNA/Life) is a picture of the first moments of pregnancy.

This is a link to a doc called "The Seven New Signs Of The Apocalypse". Again, although VERY intriguing, you can draw your own conclusions from it. I have this doc in my personal collection. You might want to check this out. ISIS is mentioned, draught, wildfires, etc. It was made in 2016. It has actual news footage and confirmed facts. Give it a chance. You might like it. ;)

*Please allow a moment or so for the video to play.
