Most Westerners are quite comfortable in their ignorance, I wouldn't describe it as suffering. But there is something far worse than biblical illiteracy. Disobedience and misapplication.

Jails exist, so thank Yahavah for the governing authorities whom handle things rightly and justly.

Absolutely! Even many saved saints have varying degrees of bible illiteracy. That is to our shame.

Why should they bother to study God's Word when all the churches / preachers teach that all one has to do is claim they believe Jesus exists and after that they are told they are saved and nothing they could possibly ever do would cause them to not be saved. (OSAS)

People with itching ears believe this easy believism so they see no need to study God's Word at all.

Bible illiteracy is a by product of the false OSAS doctrine that people are being taught

You are confusing eternal security with cheap grace.

A child of God is secure.

Walking down an aisle and praying a prayer may actually result in regeneration from time to time. And when it does, that newborn child is secure.

No Rebirth = No Security.
Born of the Holy Spirit = Eternal Security

Someone truly born of the Spirit shouldn't really struggle to understand this.

I feel sorry for those who have experienced godly repentance and faith in Christ, have received Christ's Spirit yet often doubt if they will actually endure having the faith to the end of their life and be saved from the wages of sin. These find themselves gripped with extreme fear and anxiety believing more that they are worthy of being judged and condemned to hell than having peace that they are going to be with Christ because they are sealed with the Resident Spirit Who does the saving and performs the actual act of glorification.

So yes....

Ronald why do you say it is to our shame?
There are hundreds of millions of bibles in America.
We supposedly have 64 million born again believers.
We have massive "Christian" media
We have moreChristian schools than any other nation
We have more churches /;capita than any other nation

With all that, to see America more pagan than Christian is definitely wrong.

Amen. I weep for these brothers and sisters, and their persecutors as well. Because that is exactly what it is, persecution. Those who have a righteousness of their own, deliberately and demonically conspiring to wreck the faith of those who are actually righteous in Christ Jesus. God will reward them according to their deeds. And judge them according to the way they judged others.

Certainly there are many who suffer from biblical illiteracy.

But at this time in history, that is not the greater problem. In fact, the many who are not illiterate, but know the scriptures well, have made their understanding of the scriptures, like the law, taking away the real key of knowledge regarding God and the kingdom. Which is the same error made by Israel by the chief Priests and the Pharisees.

We the gentile church have repeated their folly.

The greater issue, and what is lacking, is the expectation of God's actual finish during the last of these last days--which is also written, but grossly overlooked, as with a blind eye. By only considering the great prophetic statements and imagery of the end times, a blindness has come over every quarter of the church regarding those things the imagery only pointed to. God made manifest the imagery, like that of the book of Revelation, like a cosmic form of Pictionary--the fanfare of which has obscured the more simple truth. By offering visions of heavenly reality, virtually the whole church has been blinded to the earthly reality.

As a result--for example, most believe the finale to be a new Jerusalem of literal earth and stone, coming as a huge island city and descending from heaven down to earth; and Christ coming in the cumulus clouds on a flying horse; etc. Which--sorry to disappoint--is not unlike Israel expecting a military General Jesus.

Meanwhile, for the most part, the church has as much as ignored--if not outright denied, the warnings of false teachers entering the church and causing the strong delusion of this current lie to be believed; and that it is not at all going to come with fanfare, but as a thief in the night while the church is asleep; and with it, in spite of our slumber, lead us into all truth revealing and finishing the age old mystery of God.

Then comes the end.

I don't know Ronald, I know that people desire America to be a "Christian Nation." Sadly, no Christian Nation exist on this planet. Believers do belong to the Spiritual Jerusalem. Every single person would have to be a confirmed believer in the Resurrection for it as a whole nation to be known as "Christian." There is to much hatred and angst within ourselves to let that happen, at least until we get struck with the LORD.

A child of God is secure.

ONLY if they abide in Christ, according to what Jesus says in John as well as in other passages.

Born of the Holy Spirit = Eternal Security

Claiming those that fall away never got born again in the first place is false doctrine based on ignoring all that the Lord has to say on this topic in His Word.

1 Timothy 4:1,2 is a great example of this that the false teachers ignore or attempt to explain away because they do not accept all that the Lord says on the subject:

1 Timothy 4:1,2 - Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron

("depart from the faith" is not referring to sinners in the world who never came to faith in the first place)

The false teachers always say if one fell away they were never saved to began with because they teach false doctrine and refuse to accept all that the Lord has to say on this topic in His Word.

Amen. I weep for these brothers and sisters, and their persecutors as well. Because that is exactly what it is, persecution. Christians should be weeping for those the false teachers deceive who work for satan teaching eternal security leading many to believe they can continue living in sin because the false teachers continually tickle their itching ears telling them they can never lose their salvation

Sadly so many refuse to accept the whole Word of God so they are part of the problem!

The closest thing to a Christian nation is Russia, its leaders aside. The destruction of the white christian west has been the goal of the satanic zionists since long before even our own civil war. The war against humanity and the true Israel of God has been going on for a very long time.

So called "christian" zionists have played the largest role in facilitating this destruction. They have been duped into gleefully supporting the murderous and fictitious state of Israel, and are completely committed to building a third temple, from which Satan in human form will rule the world. Wrap your mind around that if you can. They have passed from simple deception into outright demonic insanity.

Whom God destroys, He first drives mad.

Hope the best for em. Good luck, considering the spiritual kingdom, is well. Spiritual. Many fear a nuke strike on the earth. Possible.

When Jesus returns He will be landing in the nation of Israel whether the devil likes or or not!
Jesus is a Jew and will be ruling from the nation of Israel whether the devil likes or or not!

^^^^ In answer to the thread title, it is big fat "YES."

But why only limit this disfunction to only USA citizens. Is this not true of every ethnic people group as we all suffer from some form of biblical illiteracy?

A quote taken out of context is a pretext.
If you're going to quote me, include the entire sentence, to do otherwise is dishonest.

Killing some Jews after dinner? Seriously?

You seem a bit unhinged.

And more than a bit presumptuous.

But hey, we can still be friends, right after you apologize for suggesting that I might be planning to murder some fake Israelites.

I'll be waiting. But I won't hold my breath.
