Revelation 14:9-11
9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark in his forehead or in his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
You aren't even considering the context of what Scriptures said this Sea Beast in Rev. 13 actually was.
The Sea Beast had lion, bear, and leopard features in Rev. 13:2. That should tell you that this Sea Beast was a composite one which had existed ever since the "lion" empire of the Babylonians under Nebuchadnezzar had taken control over the nation of Israel and deported their nobility. Babylon was followed by the "bear" empire of the Medo-Persians, and thereafter by the "leopard" Greek empire, as compared to the way Daniel described them. The power of these ancient kingdoms finally passed to the ancient Roman empire, who was given "Satan's throne" in the city of Pergamos in 133 BC.
ALL of these former pagan empires had demanded homage in some form or another from the Israelite people. (Homage such as Nebuchadnezzar's golden image). The "torment" experienced by those who abandoned their faith in the God of Israel and transferred their homage to any of these pagan empires had extended over the span of "the ages of the ages" (
aionas ton aionon). This torment culminated in the final Roman oppression over the nation of Israel in the first century. By then, Israel's own high priesthood was in bed with the Roman governance in order to maintain their own financial and social standing. At Christ's trial before Pilate, "We have no king but Ceasar" showed where their true allegiance was lying - and it wasn't with the God they claimed to serve.
The Tyrian shekel requirement instituted by that high priesthood included an onerous fee that every Israelite had to pay if they wanted to buy or sell any sacrificial items in the temple and when they paid their annual Temple Tax. It reminded them continually that Rome held the controlling power over their own high priesthood. They had "no rest day or night "from this threat hanging over their heads.
God finally judged that "wicked and adulterous generation" by pouring His cup of wrath upon them "to the uttermost". God's cup of wrath had already come upon Israel to the uttermost back in the first century (1 Thess. 2:16), since their religious leaders were trying to hinder the spread of the gospel. Fire and brimstone burned up the city of Jerusalem and their temple in the AD 70 period. God and His holy messengers were in the very presence (
enopion - before the face) of those who were being tormented by the destruction of their city Jerusalem and its temple.
You are trying to make this Revelation 14:10-11 text describe a perpetual tormented existence for the wicked in the ages of eternity, but
if "day and night" are still going on for those being tormented, we are looking at a torment that ordinary living individuals were to experience on this planet. "The fulfillment of the ages"
(aionon) Paul wrote had already come upon that first-century generation (1 Cor. 10:11). It was "the fulfillment of the ages" for Israel's existence as the formerly "holy people", whose power was being shattered in their own "latter days" (Daniel 12:7).
I repeat - the "mark" giving homage to the ancient Sea Beast is NOT a current threat for us today. That required Tyrian shekel "mark" expired long ago in AD 66.
