God Dealing with America

Jerry Fallwell declared this shortly after 9-11 and was branded an unpatriotic fool.Pat Robertson wrote a prayer that was, in my opinion Biblically correct. He both aknowleged the tragedy while confessing the sins of the nation and calling that this atrocity would bring more people to Him. He too was branded Unpatriotic. The Book of Job warns us against assuming that every tragedy being the result of sin and declaring "This is God's wrath upon you!" On the other hand, the overall response of the nation was "We did nothing to deserve this!" (Job in reverse?) And this is equally wrong.I Don't know about anybody else, but I for one cannot say "Thus sayeth the Lord! 9-11 happend because (Fill in the blank)."We do know that God disciplines those whom he loves and the Biblical pattern does suggest that it could have been a warning from above. It is a shame that there was no massive comming to the Foot of the Cross and confessing in humility instead of demanding His blessing in a state of pride. But still, nobody can eclare that God allowed this for any specific reason.

Nothing happens without God's permission, I do believe that Jesus taught that not even the smallest bird does not die unless God allows it.
