Hey! That was a good one!
You have a very astute mind!!! *thumbsup*
No atheist has posed that to me when they
have mocked the 6 day period being preposterous...and I toss in,
'But a day is a 1000 years to God.'
Then, I would have been the one stomped and speechless!!!!
I personally think God could have done it in 6 minutes!
The expression 'a day is as a thousand years to God' is saying that in God's reality time not relevant as it is to us.
It is not saying we should interpret it to mean that a day equals a thousand years.

I see. However...hahahah...if I am faced with another antagonistic atheist...
I may still use it! It worked before....they really do not
like we believe God did it in 6 days. LOL.
They love to mock any belief in what seems impossible. It's their 'thing'.

On the third day God created the dry land, and the trees and shrubs and herbs. Can someone explain how all the vegetation survived a thousand years without sunlight which wasn't created until the 4th day?

Gegtting back to miracles or answers to prayer. I am reminded of the widow who had a just cause and went to the judge to receive justice. He ignored her. Repeatedly. She persisted. Again, and again. the judge still resisted. She kept at him. IN the end, he gave up, just to get rid of her.

At the beginning Jesus explained the intent of the parable...that people should pray, and never stop, because our heavenly Father will respond speedily to our needs. But if our Father responds instantly, how would this strengthen our faith? If we asked for something that was not in accordance to His will, in fact even bad for us, and God refused to give it, then what would be our response? After repeatedly getting everything we ask for immediately, and all of a sudden nothing....
Whereas if our prayers were answered always in time, that is, before any harm could result from our going without, then would not our faith be built up and our trust in Him confirmed? Sometimes we ask for things because we feel inconvenienced, or uncomfortable, or perhaps we may feel handicapped or disadvantaged by our appearance, relationships, situations, etc., but all along God may be using our importunities to drive us to our knees, and into a deeper more personal and intimate relationship with Him; for our eternal welfare is of far greater value to God than our temporal wellbeing here.

Mocking is standard. Its core is ignorance but Gods word abides forever.
God has not intended that his messages to us are hard to understand.
It is our false paradigm that we insist on retaining that disables our understanding.
Unless our pride is humbled in this matter we will walk in a nether world of comprehension of what God has purposed.
We will make mountains out of molehills and the clear revealed word and will of God will seem a mystery open to unending debate if not an unfathomable revelation.

It is a known fact that it can't. The order of things created was very deliberate as one thing is dependent on another. This is where the atheist comes unstuck when they say one thing happens and then the next millions of years later. By the time something happens according to their time line, everything would be dead.

Precisely. The same goes for the thousand year as a day theory.

The first light did not come from the sun and stars because they weren't created yet..
First Light
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Second Light
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Commentary
How Was There Light If God Didn’t Create the Sun Yet in the Bible?
How Did God Create Light, if He Had Not Yet Created the Sun or Stars? Doesn’t the Sun Give Light?
While this argument may contain some truth, it is very incorrect in it’s logic. Let me explain: Light comes from a particle called a “photon.” Photons are unique, in that they have properties of both a particle and a wave. That is unique because most things are either particles or waves. Photons have both properties.

In the story of Genesis, light is the first thing mentioned as being created in our universe.

And God said, “Let There Be Light,” and there was light. (Genesis 1: 3)

If you keep reading, you will see that “light” is created before the Earth, Sun, Moon, and Stars. So how is that so? If the sun or “stars” produce light, how was there light before God created those things? The answer is simple.

Light is simply “photons”. A photon is a particle of light. A lot of light means there are a lot of photons. The sun is our main source of light (photons) because it has extreme reactions of burning hot gasses constantly releases large quantities of photons. But just because the sun or other stars release photons, doesn’t mean they weren’t released before they were created.

The stars and sun are only a source of photons-and not the only source. Photons existed before the sun, stars, or anything else was here. When the Lord God says “Let there be…” matter and energy jump at His commands. God’s word is powerful. The Bible teaches that by the Word of God, the world was created:

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Hebrews 11:3

My Personal Thoughts
I think the first light was His glory....goodness.....how he separated Himself from evil....darkness represented evil.....Jesus is the light....
So as I said this is just my humble thoughts on it.

@Heart2Soul, Yes, as I see it...this is why the Unseen is more powerful than the seen...the seen came from
the Unseen.
I feel that was something Jesus wanted to wake us up to by walking on water.
'See, guys nothing is what it appears to be ...Spiritual Laws are way more powerful than Physical laws. So change your perspective. Realizing there is something else at play here....here,
let me show you other things that you call 'miracles, which are just things done using and knowing the power of the Unseen.'

And you know what came before light?
Faith.
In order for God to say, Let there be light...faith that it would come about was there...
right behind His words. :)
In other words, faith or you could say knowing or belief are the most powerful
things in the Universe. I wonder if you could then say words spoken, as in
'Say to this mountain', 'Let there be light', would be the 2nd most powerful?
(To decree)

The Unseen are the things of God that people cannot see until and if they receive the eyes of which Jesus speaks:

"For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear." Matt 13:15-16

There are many blind people walking around even though men's eye doctors may tell them they have 20/20 vision:

"Where there is no vision, the people perish..." Prov 29:18
