Perhaps this will put an end to C L ‘s Confusion.....I pray that it does.....

I don't commit willful sin, so why should I listen to some demon in a preacher's costume tell me it is okay to sin, so eat, drink and be merry! I prefer a clear conscience, and God is pleased with that. 1 John 3:21-24

I say to you that if you are truly born again, the result will be that you will have an obedient lifestyle.

Tell that to Paul , who dealt with Saved, Born-Again Believers in His churches that committed INCEST and BLASPHEMIES .....
I think if the Holy Spirit is given enough time to MOLD us into “ the Image Of Christ “ which is a Work Of God “ INSIDE” us ( a Transforming Of The Inside Of the Cup that ONLY God can perform) we will see most Believers living a more Obedient Lifestyle......the man that slept with his Father’s Wife ? I would bet that as time went on, after he was Chastised by the Church and then eventually welcomed back into the fold..... 20 years down the line or so ,,as God continuously worked on his heart, I would not be surprised if he eventually became a Pillar Of That Church.....the Point is This: We are talking about maturing in the Faith, having God working in our hearts and minds so that eventually , our Wills line up with His Will.It comes after Salvation .....sometimes it happens quickly....other times slowly, and God is the One in Control.....He uses a mixture of Grace, Forgiveness and Chastisement to change us into the Image Of His Son—- the POINT of Everything!
Foolish , stubborn Believers who insist on testing God, abusing His Grace and refuse to learn anything when God “ takes them to the Wood Shed” to give them an “ attitude adjustment”.......God could opt to just give up on there stupidity and cause them to have an early Death......Saved because they Were Believers , But get the “ joy” of standing before God with welts all over their behinds , weeping because they are ashamed of how they lived AFTER they were Saved and gnashing their teeth as they discover they have zero Eternal Rewards , other than escaping the fires of Hell.....
After Salvation, there is a big difference in what Believers SHOULD do and what they “ actually” do.....God gave us the Freedom to be Wise Christians or Foolish Christians...our choice....Be Wise and do what God tells you to do. This side of the Cross, we only have two Commands... Believe and Love.Concentrate On “Those” Two Things and Trust God to concentrate on HIS Part.....Counting our Faith in His Son as Righteousness —- that puts to Rest the Salvation part .... and then going to work to “ Save us to the Uttermost” and Transforming us into the likeness of Jesus himself.....Let go and let God......THAT, my friends is SAVING FAITH.....” Don’t leave home without it”.....

Perhaps this will put an end to C L ‘s Confusion.....I pray that it does.....

2Ti 4:1, I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2Ti 4:2, Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4, And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The guy effectively taught that we are the righteousness of God in Christ but that we still sin. That implies that righteousness is not practical in nature.

The Bible teaches otherwise (1 John 3:7, Romans 5:19, Matthew 5:6).

Also, James 3:2 is to be compared to Philippians 1:10...we can indeed be without offence according to the latter verse (that is, if God answers prayer).

Tell that to Paul , who dealt with Saved, Born-Again Believers in His churches that committed INCEST and BLASPHEMIES .....

I consider that if they were committing incest and blasphemies, they were not saved or born again but were of the devil (1 John 3:8).

the Point is This: We are talking about maturing in the Faith, having God working in our hearts and minds so that eventually , our Wills line up with His Will.It comes after Salvation .....sometimes it happens quickly....other times slowly, and God is the One in Control.....

When a man truly repents, it happens very quickly, in a moment of time...and the man is in control....he decides whether to repent or not...and also, this idea that it happens slowly over time gives people an excuse to "keep on keeping on in their sins" with the prospect that "someday" they will be sanctified...but God calls you to repentance now.

God could opt to just give up on there stupidity and cause them to have an early Death......Saved because they Were Believers ,

If they are committing sin they are of the devil (1 John 3:8) and therefore are not real believers.

2Co 6:15, And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Co 6:16, And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

God gave us the Freedom to be Wise Christians or Foolish Christians...our choice....

I believe that in the parable of the wise and foolish virgins, the foolish virgins ended up knocking at the doors of heaven and Jesus said to them, "I know you not whence ye are..." and found no opportunity for real entrance into the kingdom.

He is slick...he has all the right words...he preaches what is known to be gospel truth by the majority of the church...

.......then again, maybe I am NOT just “ slick”...... maybe, just maybe, I know what I am talking about ....I take this Site VERY Seriously.....if I did not know what I was talking about and if I were not Sure that I knew what I was talking about —- I would not Post here....I’ve been a very serious Student Of the Bible for over 40 years ago.....that , in and of itself , proves Nothing , But I asked God 40 years ago to lead me to the Best Teachers that He has on this Planet, and I Believe He has done that.....If I am merely “ Slick” , I come from a long line of “ Slick Men Of God” . If you oppose the Teachings of Gifted Men And women of God that I try to pass on to encourage others to Rest in the Finished Work Of Christ and experience the Grace and Joy That God wants for His Children why not choose to ignore me ? Then those of us that are not Stiff-Necked can get on with enjoying our lives and Trusting God to Save us because of our Faith in His Son, and Trusting Him to “ blow the whistle” on us when we go astray , as sheep have a tendency to do .....
.......as far as your accusations that I believe as I do so that I can just go out and sin up a storm and “ get away with it”——- that makes no sense at all . You see, when God me the assurance that I was Saved Forever because of Two things I have NO control over—- Christ’s Blood and My Faith ( my saving Faith was itself a gift from God) , He also gave me a New Heart ! Theoretically , I can sin as much as I “ WANT” and still get to Heaven, because God has “ Forgotten” my sins —- they are on the Cross and God, in His Sheer Mercy , Leaves them there.....Now Before you get your panties in a knot, rejoice in the fact that “Nobody gets away with anything”.....When I sin , God punishes me .....He takes His errant Children to the “ wood shed” andclet me assure you —- He Don’t play games when He takes you there !
So, DIM ONES out there.....why would I “ want” to sin? I derive the same pleasure from Sin that I would by sticking my hand in a fire .Here is what you guys don’t get...... every second of every day I do the things that I “ WANT” to do......ever since I received my New Heart , God keeps changing those “ Wants”....... As I go forward in my Walk Of Faith , I discover that “my” Wants line up with “ His” Wants.... He Transforms me by working on “the inside of the cup”. Ring a bell? He will Transform your life also if you will get out of the way and let Him—- that would entail your abandonment of “ Trying” to be Saved by concentrating yourself with the “ OUTSIDE “ of the Cup.....quit Trying— Start Trusting. It all begins with RESTING in the Gospel Of 1Cor15:1-4 for your Salvation .....God Commands us to do that or be guilty of “ Disobedience” and “UNBELIEF”...... chances are you NEVER heard That at your neighborhood Church in the past, and odds are, you ain’t gonna year it tomorrow....what are you DOING in a church like that? Get out and get some good teaching.....you May discover TONS of other Bad Teaching you received and were not aware of .....you Found the Bible “ too hard to understand” , hence, you never read it and took the Easy way out and took the word of a guy who would di all the work for you , and you trusted him just because he wore a funny looking collar or stood in a Pulpit....big mistake...God bless .....

@Blood Bought 1953,

It is my daily prayer that every word that comes off of my keyboard may be anointed by the Holy Ghost and be from the Holy Ghost...that He would give me the words to say and that every word would be from Him.

I also have studied the word of the Lord for the last 30 or more years...and while that may not be as long as you...my prayer is a factor as concerning what I am going to say on these boards.

You have yet to apologize for calling me a false teacher...I am ready to forgive you when you do.

Love in Christ,

@justbyfaith.

Here, I will apologize first (for I consider that an apology is an explanation of why we did something).

I said what I said because I was answering a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes (Proverbs 26:4-5)...I returned a like comment to what was leveled against me.

Now, your turn...

To @Blood Bought 1953.

Nice Evasion of the question.....it reminds me Of trump’s “ Lick- Spittle” Lap Dog , Pence....
See James 4:11-12 and Acts of the Apostles 23:5.

I hope that the Holy Spirit will "chasten you" with this scripture so that you will not commit the same sin all over again later.

If He doesn't, then maybe you are a Bastard son...

You say move over Paul, there is a new chief of sinners in town. Let's see if you are fibbing. Do you do any of these:

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like

Going out the gate, you should know that I am a “ fibber” .....so it is pointless to ask me such questions .....There is One Thing I did “ Not” fib about.....
I AM the Chief Of Sinners .....If you ever actually meet God and get to know Him, you will feel the same ....until that day , enjoy being in your “ Fool’s Paradise”......

But I asked God 40 years ago to lead me to the Best Teachers that He has on this Planet, and I Believe He has done that....

Maybe you should have asked God to illuminate His word to you directly by His Holy Spirit...

Luk 6:39, And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
Luk 6:40, The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

You can only be as good as the people that you are taught by...how much better to be taught by Jesus Himself rather than to be taught by fallible men?

This is where you and I may have taken different paths...although you have had more time being taught by human teachers, I have had ten years less having been taught by Jesus Himself, through the Holy Ghost.

I think that I have an advantage over you therefore when it comes to who has the sounder doctrine.

That is a crying shame (see 1 John 3:8)...it indicates to you that you are among those defined in that verse as being sinners...

However I know that you, being held captive by the devil, will hold on to false teaching concerning this passage and will continue to be a sinner. It is always a miracle any time anyone is born again; so I wouldn't put it past God to do a miracle in you...

But first you must accept the reality of what it says in 1 John 3:6-9 in its entirety, as it is literally given to us in the kjv...

Truly it is a narrow path (Matthew 7:13-14).

I do the very same thing.....so where does that leave us ?
It leaves us with the fact that you are subject to human error in that you identified me as a false teacher when in fact that is not what I am.

You acted according to an opinion that you had and did not consult the Holy Spirit first.

Do you ask the Holy Spirit with every post to give you the words to say? or do you sometimes slip up?

I will give you $ 1,000 if you can tell me (honestly) that in the post where you offended me (post #807 (The False Doctrine with key word "COVER")), you asked the Holy Spirit to give you the words immediately before. Of course, you already owe me $1,000 so that would only make us even.

Oh that's right...you just admitted to all of us that you're a fibber; and therefore you cannot be trusted to tell me honestly about that.

What's to prevent you from fibbing in the middle of the teaching that you give to us all?

Who is the false teacher now?

Yes; I am still hurt by the fact that you did what you did and still have not apologized.

I feel like you have stabbed me in the back.

I did that also.....so now what?
Somehow you are not hearing right...because if you were hearing right you would not be excusing your sins when the scripture clearly teaches that the one who commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8 (kjv)).

Perhaps you got a hold of the wrong translation of the Bible.

Perhaps you are a Sincere, but “Poor Student” Of The Word, not able to “ Rightly Divide “ God’s Word and therefore will have to “ stand ashamed” as those better taught have to constantly try to educate you ....
Try this one on for size, Lippy..... James said “ We ALL STUMBLE” ......James said that under the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit that “teaches you personally”——How did you miss “ this” one, Mr Holy Spirit ,Jr. ?
“ALL” means ALL and that mean that YOU and the Holier than Thou, Ms C L.......have stumbled. Just like Me.Just like EVERY man and Woman who does Battle with the World, the Flesh and the Devil.....The biggest Sin In God's Universe is thinking that you “ have no Sin” ....it’s called Spiritual Pride. That was Satan’s big Issue. Pride. You are in my prayers ......

Even though the epistle of the Hebrews does not directly identify its author no one knew the O.T. scriptures like the Apostle Paul in the N.T. And most biblical scholars say the greatest book ever written by man was Romans and Paul quotes the O.T. everywhere in that epistle much like we see in the epistle written to the Hebrews. That book is filled with O.T. scriptures. Paul was an expert on the Law like no other in his day. He had a one of a kind resume.

Philippians 3
If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.

Acts 22
“Brothers and fathers, listen now to my defense.”

2 When they heard him speak to them in Aramaic, they became very quiet.

Then Paul said: 3 “I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. I studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law of our ancestors. I was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. 4 I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, 5 as the high priest and all the Council can themselves testify. I even obtained letters from them to their associates in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished.

Galatians 2
Then after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. 2 I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain. 3 Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek. 4 This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves. 5 We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

6 As for those who were held in high esteem—whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism—they added nothing to my message. 7 On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised. 8 For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles. 9 James, Cephas and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. 10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.

Paul Opposes Cephas
11 When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.

14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

15 “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

17 “But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! 18 If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.

19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

What I’ve highlighted is in my opinion the whole problem with CL’s doctrine, in trying to make it all about her performance the sacrifice of Christ is minimized.
