The Mystery of the Triune God

I am trying really hard to be polite here, but....frankly there is nothing polite to be said here, so I'm just going to walk away.

The Mystery of the Triune God

You say you're sorry and then immediately commit the same offense again *rolls eyes*

The Mystery of the Triune God

I have read many of your long posts and threads. And suffered very heavy-handed harassment and proselytization from you. It is a major turn off.

The Mystery of the Triune God

I'm not deleting anything- the post I responded to is directly included in my response post. My guess is that forum software is hiding it from your view because you have a poster on ignore. If for some reason you wanted to test that, on the bottom right corner of the thread's an option to "show...

The Mystery of the Triune God

Dude: I'm talking about the Creedal Trinity-- that which was codified by the Athanasian Creed. The Father and Son aren't the same person in that belief system (or mine). Modalism is the name given to the belief system wherein the Father and Son are the same person, and is traditionally...

The Mystery of the Triune God

I was responding to @justbyfaith who was advocating for modalism (that the Father and Son are the same person).

The Mystery of the Triune God

Actually always. This is literally a matter of definition. The Trinity directly states that the Father and Son are two different persons. Modalism believes that they are one person in two different modes.

The Mystery of the Triune God

Rather, it is two divine person ins ONE God. That, plus the Holy Spirit, is most people's belief in the Trinity or Godhead. To believe that the Father and the Son are the same person is to believe in modalism.

The Mystery of the Triune God

Hi @"Light". Were you want to have a peer-to-peer discussion about any of this?

    Are the Ecumenical Councils valid?

My belief: no. Truth comes from God via revelation, not from a council. The events of Acts 15 were led by an Apostle/Prophet of God to guide revelation, very different than the post-Biblical counsels.

    Biblical Foreknowledge

Or rather, it's simply having a different view of things. A view may be wrong or right, but no one's is saved by their ability to pass a theology test.

:) I do appreciate you and your willingness to talk about things, even when we have different views! God be with you always.

    Biblical Foreknowledge

Hi Mjh29, you and I have chatted before, and I felt the conversation was productive for me to better understand you (thank you again for that). My question about seeking was posed to Anthony, who does believe that people seek. I know you believe people don't seek, and hence know that this...

    Biblical Foreknowledge

Could this not be said of you? You're here with an agenda: to spread what you believe to be truth and what others to be error. You congratulate yourself for it. You don't have actual concern for a person, just your agenda.

FWIW: Jon have been a MUCH better example of a Christian and explaining his beliefs. Anthony, if you think I am damned, then logically you can only blame deity, since you believe I have no free will.

    Biblical Foreknowledge

*rolls eyes* I spent all lot of time trying to understand what you believe. You purposely misunderstand what others believe and gloat about those misunderstandings. I'm done and really don't care.

    Biblical Foreknowledge

In case it wasn't already obvious: I read scripture and they LOUDLY testify against Calvinism. So referring me to scripture to understand your Calvinist view doesn't work. My spending so much time and energy reaching out to you was to understand your view (rather than just dismissing). And...

    Biblical Foreknowledge

You're misunderstanding me: I'm done done. I've tried really hard and REALLY patiently to understand your beliefs, but.. well, no point repeating my reasons why.

    Biblical Foreknowledge

And irrelevent to this conversation. Anthony, I've tried with you. I've asked questions, and not received answers. And I just done with this.

    Biblical Foreknowledge

I would like to think that people actually have thought about their beliefs. Sometimes however, that is not the case. And I'm just done now.
