Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

Good point, and timing is key in all that. Peter spoke what is written in Acts 34 long after the fall of Israel, and after salvation had come unto the Gentiles apart from them having to join with Israel as a fallen nation of priests and kings. When we fail to take into account the timing, we...

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

As a Messianic Jew, and when I was active with my local congregation of Orthodox Messianic Jews, they taught the same thing for this time, but are fully prepared to go back to Israel once the sacrifices start back up, claiming that they will look back to Christ and therefore, allegedly, not be a...

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

I'm curious as to why you want to go back to works and the Law...if I'm understanding your theology? BTW

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

We are not required today to be baptized for the remission of sins. That was spoken specifically to Israel, not Gentiles through Paul. No ordinances of Law is binding upon us today as a work. The Blood of Christ was more than sufficient for the cleansing of our sins. BTW

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

    Whatever... How's that? BTW

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

Wait a minute. I don't recall anyone in the OSAS crowd laying claim to there being any good thing about returning to sin. Let's get real here, shall we? Since your salvation, did you become sinless? Have you stopped sinning? If you think you've stopped sinning, then where is that stated...

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

The lack of understanding seems to be flowing both ways in yours and my opinion here. I know what you're saying, and I agree with you that Christ magnified the Law, and even told a healed leper to go an offer up the sacrifice according to the Law of Moses. Yes. That man was an Israeli, and the...

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

"Latter rain" is in the scriptures in a number of places. The problem is that the hyper-pseudo-charismatic-spiritualists love to harangue and beat over the head all those who are ignorant enough to allow that metaphor to actually hurt them. It's like a badge of honor to the pseudo-spiritualists...

I fully agree with you on faith being the reason for the accounting of righteousness upon Abraham. No argument there. However, I don't know anyone who would not be so honored as that which the Lord spoke about Abraham, in that he obeyed the Law, the statutes and commands of the Lord. That speaks...

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

Yes. This is some really good stuff that, when I learned of it, somehow enlarged my pleasure in the Lord to know more of Him and how He operated and operates through time. Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. Far too...

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

No. I disagree. I have said that following the other Laws is good to do, such as placing a barrier around the edges of one's roof and so many other items that nobody today ever looks at with a desire to obey, including the garments of only one type material. The good of it is in the pleasure...

Never mind. We're talking past each other. Your fixation on the concept of "latter rain" is prolific. I'm not so fixated on the types since I focus upon the Person of it all. Thanks for sharing. BTW

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

I'm Israeli and a very mature follower of Christ of greater stature than what I was as a young man. I'm well aware of the types and shadows of what you all call the OT shadows and types. Perhaps there are those here who don't know the parallels, but I personally am well aware of them. Faith is...

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

In a previous post to which I responded, you expressed a measure of caring about what the world thinks about us who follow Christ. The understanding anyone would have is limited by the words you spoke. If there is need for further clarification, then say on. We're listening. BTW

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

You'll have to be more specific, because if you're asking something that leads more to speculative answers as compared to what's actually stated in the text, then that's a discussion of opinion and personal analysis than it is about textual reliance. BTW

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

Then you are a believer in works-based salvation. If works of effort are required on our part to retain it, then works must also be involved in obtaining it. That is the problem one must overcome. We have the EARNEST of our salvation, which is Holy Spirit, unto the day of our redemption at the...

Work OUT Your Salvation, not FOR

Again, I cannot subscribe to your methods of ripping verses from their contexts, spiritualize them, and thus apply them in the manner as you have done to try and build a larger set of support that simply isn't there. When the texts speak clearly about literal rain, and someone spiritualizes it...

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

We all can rest assured that the wrath of God will indeed be poured out upon this earth in the tribulation. Half of humanity will be dead by the time of His Second Coming because of the wrath of God. The gang that sees only the Lord's love and grace, they really need to remove their blinders to...

    Was the Cross Always Understood?

Good points, but it still remains that the way to that new birth is only through grace by faith, not of works of effort on our part in trying to earn it, lest any man should find a way to boast. The earnest of our salvation is Holy Spirit and the Father would never forfeit Holy Spirit by...
