    A Form of godliness

Gen 3:15, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Given everything God said about seed in Genesis 1, Eve would have been clear that the promised seed would come via a human seed. Seed always...

    A Form of godliness

1 Chr 17:7a, 11 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David...And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go [to be] with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom. God came from the...

    A Form of godliness

Three is three and one is one. There is no equivalence whatsoever. The only way that one can be three is if we interject strange concepts such as "essence" into the equation. It took some 300 years to come up with that idea. Paul had no idea about God being an "essence." Essence is a thing. It...

    A Form of godliness

God is not a despot. He gave Adam and Eve dominion over the earth. Psalm 82 is a good place to start your research. In Job 1 we even see God negotiating with the devil! Of course God always makes the final decision, but He does consult with the heavenly host, the various spiritual beings He...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Is everyone who says, "I am" also God? Lots of folks said that.

    A Form of godliness

What was the Word (logos) before it became flesh? 1 Tim 3:16, And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Virtually all Biblical...

    A Form of godliness

That pit image reminds me of an abandoned rock quarry we used to jump into when I was a kid. About a 60' jump into freezing water followed by a 30 minute climb back to the top. It's a wonder we all survived. Thanks for the memory. :) Scholars or not, there are several places in the scriptures...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Very good. I especially liked what you said about ransom. God is the second Adam? I don't think so! Not even in the parking lot let alone the ballpark. :) If God was going to make everything right all by Himself, it begs the question of why did He wait for 4,000 years before doing so? A lot of...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Gnosticism may have begun in the 1st century, but it's alive and well today in the trinity as well as the dead don't really die, (they just "move" to a higher plane or something. Have to wonder why the...

    A Form of godliness

Very thin evidence for the trinity. Virtually all scholars, trinitarians included, understand that Gen 1:26 refers to the Divine Council (angels, archangels, seraphim, etc). Plus verse 27 uses the singular noun for "created"

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Gnosticism comes to mind. They certainly had their "secrets" that also didn't make any sense.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Never saw that before. There are actually 45 times JAH is used for God. Any ideas on why God is called that?

    A Form of godliness

Isa 37:38, And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god (elohiym), that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead. Judg 11:24, Wilt not thou possess that...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Why do you keep calling Jesus the son of God? Is it just because that's what the scriptures call him about 40 times? :)

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Despite his not being God, Jesus was nothing at all like Mohamed. I'm pretty sure that Mohamed sinned at some point in his life. In fact, thanks to Adam, he came into this world with a sin nature, so he, like the rest of us, was bound to sin and did sin. Jesus, on the other hand, came into this...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

No. I'm non-denominational. I guess it used to be that JW was pretty much the only people who didn't think Jesus was God. Today, there are more and more Christians who are not JW that are beginning to understand that Jesus was the son of God.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Yes, and it would also make no sense that Jesus was tempted just like the rest of us. I think having a consciousness of being God would render any temptation meaningless. I sure don't feel like I'm God when temptation comes my way. Then, being tempted just like me, neither did Jesus. In any...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Where does it say that? Romans 10:9-10 tells us how to get saved and it says nothing about a God the Son. Just read it: Rom 10:9-10, 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Don't forget: Matt 5:14, Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. The Jews to whom Jesus spoke these words are also God?

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

That's the verse that proves I'm going to burn in hell because I believe Jesus is son of God, my Lord, and that God raised him from the dead?
