    The Immaculate Conception Error!

My dear Barrd, while we haven't been conversing more than a couple of months, have you not learned anything about me and the way I think?

    The Immaculate Conception Error!

Hey Barrd, Don't tell anyone, but I actually do have super powers! ;)

    Cookies and sweets

I read something on facebook that made me chuckle: "People shoul be less concerned with what they eat between December 25th and New Year's day and more concerned with what they eat between New Year's day an December 25th."

What if early documents of Scripture had been lost?

Tom55, Paul was an apostle, but not one who would be qualified to write a gospel. So I know what you meant. Consider, though, that paul mentioned an epistle to the leaodicians that he wrote. He mentions it in Col 4:16. Also consider that in 1 cor 5:9 Paul notes a former epistle to them...

    December 25th

A year or two ago I did extensive research on the subject (the course of abijah). I came up with the same "ifs" you did and a few more. Overall its a lot of math work and calendar conversions. I think there are 3 possible dates for the announcement of John's coming. Zach served two regular...

Remember the real reason for the season!

Stiknik, I've been talking about it in message boards for about 13 or 14 years. I'm not planning on doing it too much this year. But I can't help but to stand up and agree as a witness.

Remember the real reason for the season!

I don't celebrate Christmas either. John 4:24 says we must worship in spirit and in truth. 99% of what I see in societies Christmas celebration is not the spirit of Christ. 1% may be in the "seemingly" right spirit, but it's not in truth.

Yes, it is possible to reconcile all of the New Testament Scriptures

Well Zachary, I was commenting on what H. Richard said. If and when I feel like comnenting on what you said, you'll get it. As for your comments, I just had a discussion with Wormwood about dire warnings, so I'm not afraid to address it. But if you want me to discuss what you wrote...

5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

"These [that] passages is out of context" is the default arguement in christian debates! :D.

ANALYSIS OF MATTHEW 24:12-13 - WHY IT DISPROVES OSAS

Interesting exchange. Wormwood asked about faith granted (given?) by God, and ATP talked about people not believing in their hearts (thus they didn't produce faith). Perhaps I'm just tired.

    Poll on OSAS

Good stuff Ozspen! I briefly read and enjoyed that piece on Augustine and will look at it again soon when I'm a bit fresher (worked about 13 hours today). From a first look, I agree with what Augustine was getting at. Haven't read much of him. I have read Calvin though and I don't find...

5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

Wormwood, It is puzzling you aren't seeing how a warning can be part of the sakvation process in the concept of predestination, which is clearly taught in the bible. I am confident that you aren't new to this controversy, so I won't waste our time bringing up the verses that show them - I...

5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

Wormwood, It absolutely is possible that a true son of God can fall. That's why he gives warnings. But the true dons of God heed those warnings and thus, won't fall. You can believe that God doesn't put a nature in us, but I do actually have many instances in the bible that say otherwise...

    What we can prove

Well, the bible says God did create evil. I can also see the point that God can't stand ti look at us, but fortunately for us, our sins are covered up by the blood of Jesus.

5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

I'm afraid I didn't do a good job getting my point across. Let me try again. Before genesis 1:1 God made us, and knew each individual. He made some vessels of honor and some not. He not only knew our nature and destination, he put that nature in us and thus it dictates our destiny. Some...

5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

Wormwood, I appreciate your reply. There is reason in it, yet I'm not ready to fully agree. God's sovereign decree doesn't mean there won't be an individual response. They aren't conflicting points, and I believe the latter is a result of the former. In other words, we do what a son of God...

5 of the more obvious passages about losing salvation

Wormwood, Regarding this issue with Romans: let me see if I understand your concern correctly. If someone is predestined for salvation, why are there warnings of losing salvation to them? Is that the problem? If so, I don't have a problem God giving them warnings and them still being...

    Poll on OSAS

I voted OSAS, but prefer the term predestined, and what the bible says about it. Big problem with Osas is not only what its founders said it is, vut also the boogeyman its become since then. Props to you for giving Calvinism a separate catagory!

Remember the demons called legion? They asked Jesus if he had come to torment them before their time. Psalms 37 says that the wicked plitteth against the just, an knashest upon them with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh ay him, for he seeth that his day is coming. So, yes... be patient!
