What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

I agree. But, I'm not trying to test you since you are not a pre-tribber. The point of this thread is to refute the pre-trib belief that the mystery Paul was talking about was the rapture (gathering and catching up to Christ) itself, but that is not the case. Instead, the mystery is the change...

I can't wait to see this. ;)

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

I actually agree that one does need to have part in the first resurrection in order to obtain the age to come, but one does not immediately obtain the age to come by way of having part in the first resurrection, which in my view, is about spiritually having part in Christ's bodily resurrection...

The Galilean wedding is the model for the pre-trib rapture

You're obviously missing 2 there because John very specifically said that 5 were already fallen. Why not accept that John knew more than you about this whether you understand how 5 kingdoms had already fallen at that point or not? Your lack of trust that John knew what he was talking about is...

    Proclaim a Day of Victory

I'm not talking about the prophets and authors of scripture. Obviously, God revealed truth to them. I'm talking about you thinking that you are the only one who accurately understands certain things that are written in scripture. It takes a high level of arrogance for someone to believe that...

Why are some interpreters not being honest with the text involving Daniel 9:27?

Have you gotten that serious help yet that I said you needed? Oh, you just asked a question. That's all. You are so innocent. All you did was ask me if I was saying Jesus never rose from the dead, which would imply I am not a Christian if I was saying that. That's all. Why would you even ask me...

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

Yes, that is correct. And that addresses what I said how? What does that have to do with the mystery Paul referenced in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Surely, the second coming of Christ was not a mystery at that point nor the last day resurrection of all people. Right? So, in relation to the point...

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

Right. Did I give the impression that I believed otherwise? I certainly didn't intend to do that. The text of 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 is clear that the last trumpet will sound and the dead will be resurrected and then they, along with the living, will all be changed at the same time. This is the...

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

On this forum, I almost consider it a win if someone understands what I'm saying even if they disagree. I get my views misunderstood and misrepresented constantly on here and that gets old after awhile. To the point where I'm just glad when someone understands my view, at least. As for the...

The Galilean wedding is the model for the pre-trib rapture

LOL. I did not say that. Not even close. Your reading comprehension skills are the worst I've ever seen in my life. Please take an English class or two. It is apparently not your first language. Show me where I said that Rome was fallen at the time John wrote the book of Revelation. Good luck...

    Proclaim a Day of Victory

I didn't name any names, yet you figured out that you're one of the people I'm talking about. So, you admit to being a lone wolf who has a doctrine all to yourself that no one else in the world agrees with and believes. I personally wouldn't be comfortable with that because it means you are...

    Proclaim a Day of Victory

No, not all of us. Just those who have doctrines all to themselves that no one else in the world agrees with and believes. There are a number of lone wolves like that on this forum.

Who, or what, is the dreaded bogey man of prophecy?

Not symbolic prophetic beasts, though. The scriptures you're talking about compare men's behavior to animals/beasts. That's totally different. Symbolic prophetic beasts represent kingdoms. Daniel 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse...

Who, or what, is the dreaded bogey man of prophecy?

Scripture (1 John 2:18,22; 1 John 4:3, 2 John 1:7) says there are many antichrists, not just one. And that there were already many antichrists in John's day. Many don't seem to care how John defined the term "antichrist" and want to redefine it. He defined it as referring to anyone who has "that...

The Galilean wedding is the model for the pre-trib rapture

Of course I don't and you know it. You know I'm laughing at your interpretation of that scripture and not at the scripture itself. Why act otherwise? Why play dumb? You think I can't see through that? Do you read the whole book literally? You try to understand scripture only using your flawed...

The Galilean wedding is the model for the pre-trib rapture

You just repeat what people say to you. That is hilarious. You are completely clueless. I didn't say it wasn't. Here's your horrible reading comprehension skills at work again. You can't be taken seriously. At all.

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

Yes, that is what I believe will happen as well, but what is being discussed in this thread is answering the question of what is the mystery that Paul referenced here: 1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the...

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

Do you think I believe otherwise? If so, it's not possible that you read everything I said since I made it clear that I believe 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 are 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 are part of the same event. And I agree it's the same event as Matthew 24:30-31 as well. So, please re-read my...

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

Okay. So, we're on the same page here. That is the mystery. That's it. He said nothing about being resurrected from the dead being a mystery or being gathered to Christ (the rapture - catching up) being a mystery. That is the point I'm making. I disagree, but is not part of the point I'm making...

What is the mystery that Paul references in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52? Is it the rapture (catching up to Christ) as pretrib teaches or something else?

I use both. And I look at other translations as well. And Hebrew and Greek resources. What I normally try to do when I quote scripture is quote it in the preferred translation of the person I'm talking to (if I know what it is). That way, they can't tell me "Well, that isn't what it says in the...
