God is light, and in him is no darkness at all

Amen. We serve a good Father who loves all of His children.

    Saved By Fear?

This thread is one where you know nobody is going to change their mind, but you can't help following it anyway, even though it became circular about 15 pages ago. It's like a car wreck that you can't help but to look at when you drive by.

    Saved By Fear?

Then the argument would be that God is the one who gave us the faith, based on: Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, [it is] the gift of God; But then the Bible says that God gave everyone a measure of faith that is enough to believe. So...

    Saved By Fear?

I've said it before, but Galatians 3 gives the answer to all of this. Jesus is the one who is predestined, and anyone who chooses to be in Christ is going where He is going. Galatians 3:16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as [referring]...

    Saved By Fear?

Yeah, I agree. If that's true, there is no point in evangelism because those that God has chosen can't help but to come to Him. So why should we bother doing anything if it's inevitable, whether we evangelize or not? Yet we're commanded to preach to the world and make disciples.

    Saved By Fear?

I'm in agreement with what you said right here. The problem is that a lot of people don't believe that God calls everyone. Many believe that God picks and chooses whom He calls, and only those have a chance. I don't have a problem with the notion that people respond to the conviction and calling...

    Saved By Fear?

What if there is a difference between Hell and the Lake of Fire, and we've just all been erroneously calling it hell? Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Just think through that parable, though. He invited the first group of people, who...

    Saved By Fear?

The Bible mentions "elect angels," but it never goes into details about how that works. Can you show me any scriptural evidence that proves that the angels that didn't fall didn't fall because they were elect? As far as I can tell, there is nothing in the Bible that explains things that way...

    Monogamy Isn’t Biblical, It’s Greek/Roman

Wow. I only had time to read the first and last pages. I have a few points to make, but since I didn't read the entire thread, they very well may have been discussed already. Sorry if that's the case. 1) The OP even pointed out that 1 Timothy instructs that church leaders should be the husband...

    Saved By Fear?

ByGrace, I like you a lot, but my beliefs differ from yours here, and I have a question for you to clarify. You believe that at some point, everyone will be saved. But do you believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation, and that His sacrifice paid the price for our reconciliation with the...

    Saved By Fear?

You and I are so far apart on some issues, it's crazy. So you actually believe Jesus wants us to honor our parents, but at the same time hate them? I could go on and on with you forever, but there's really no point. Like I said before, neither of us are going to change our minds. The only thing...

    Saved By Fear?

I haven't answered that question because neither you nor I could give enough biblical evidence for anything more than pure speculation. I can give you my opinion, though. If you take Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 to be talking about the fall of Satan, it gives us some hints. God didn't create the...

    Saved By Fear?

See, we've given you many scriptures that point out that God does want everyone to be saved. You just have a pretty limited scope on the will of God. He wants everyone to be saved, but before anyone was even lost, He came up with His plan of salvation, and He put His own laws in place. In your...

    Saved By Fear?

It's because most of those people don't understand what grace really is. They see it the same as like a "grace period" for your credit card payment. Your payment due date is on the 5th of the month, but as long as you pay it within the grace period, and get the payment in by the 10th of the...

    Saved By Fear?

No. You're not listening. Knowing that I have a lot fewer hairs than my son is a lot different than making me have fewer hairs. Micromanaging is causing everything to happen. I know what all of my high school son's classes are, but I didn't choose his schedule for him. I helped by giving him...

    Saved By Fear?

Kind of like how I said earlier that every time predestination is mentioned, it's speaking in plurality, and not as individuals? ;) You're parsing verses to mean what you want them to mean. God wants everyone to be saved. I can't believe that there are individuals out there that God does not...

    Saved By Fear?

You never answered why it's God's will for all men to be saved, but not all men are going to be saved. The answer to your question is that it's possible for people to change their minds when convinced by being influenced. So while we all start off in sin, we can change our minds and choose to...

    Saved By Fear?

A seeker sensitive church is one who is more concerned with getting new people to come than making disciples and helping people to mature. They generally don't teach anything that would make waves, and they're going to have a presentation that draws people in. Personally, I don't identify with...

    Saved By Fear?

Well, consider these scriptures: 1 Timothy 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1 Timothy 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward...

    Saved By Fear?

I think Jude applies to both situations. It applies to the person witnessing, and to the person being saved. You can look at that scripture from both perspectives. If you look at it from the perspective of the person being saved, some people need to start with fear, but it shouldn't end there...
