Am I Wrong For Thinking This ?

I think Jesus used the debate forums of his day. They weren't on the internet but in other places. But there is a positive way to debate and there are unhelpful ways. Much on Christian forums I find very unhelpful.

What Bible Translation are you using?

Never heard of HCSB. What is that?

What Bible Translation are you using?

I think the NRSV is the best english version. However it is not so easy to come across. However, I think it is good to read many different versions to get a better idea of what the original was saying.

Am I Wrong For Thinking This ?

I think the OP is right on the mark. Why are people on forum's? It seems to me like they were very popular a few years ago, but perhaps the rise of facebook and other social media has meant a decline and left only a few types of people on forums.

"Bible Skeptics" now equal with "Bible Lovers", more so in Millenials

And I'm appreciative of the honour :D

    When people fail

Nobody said anything about 'not dealing with the problem'. Of course you need to deal with the problem. The question is how? Do we do it in a way that encourages others to get their problems dealt with ? Or do we do it in a way that encourages people to keep their issues hidden? This is the...

    When people fail

Even putting people in a period of discipline raises all sorts of issues. Is this putting them under shame? The problem with this sort of way of dealing with issues is that it DOESN'T encourage others to come forward with issues. If they are struggling they have to way up the cost of coming...

    When people fail

I'm not sure that saying someone in ministry is the same as saying we need a priest. That is a big jump. Saying someone is in ministry doesn't say they are 'special'. I think you are reading a lot into that.

    When people fail

A little while ago a friend of mine in ministry did something wrong – he sinned! The church he was working for asked him to step down from ministry and go find another job. I was sad for my friend that he had made a mistake, but more so for the church’s reaction. I wonder sometimes if people are...

You're right, IT should read, Jews of his day. What is liberal Christianity depends on how 'fundamentalistic' you are. I've been called liberal by those more fundamental than me, and fundamental by those who see themselves as more liberal. The label means very little. I'm not sure what agenda...

    The "Gospel" of the 144,000

So is there only 144000 saved in that church? Or is it a symbolic number?

    Angry Christians?

I'm not quite sure how to take your response.

    The "Gospel" of the 144,000

Interesting, but a little 'free' in interpretation

Does the Word of God teach tolerance towards deceivers?

I suspect there is a difference between people that set out to deliberately deceive believers to follow another version of the gospel and people who just don't know. Paul was pretty scathing towards those who would come into his churches and try and get people to convert to Judaism. John was...

    Angry Christians?

I found this blog entry at this address (although I can't post links yet) jonnitta.com/2014/04/28/why-are-christians-so-angry/ I see lots of people who I think are posting on forums out of their 'wrath'! What do you think? ---------------- I just read a great blog piece recently by Kevin...

    The image

I agree. But if you say 'the image is in the ability to reason' and a monkey can reason, then aren't you saying that a monkey has SOME of the image? God can reason far more than humans.

Need to say something about music

I guess it depends on whether the music helps you or hinders you in a relationship with God. If it doesn't hinder I don't see a problem - but I'm sure others will tell me how you are 'secretly' being hindered.

That is true, but you have start with context. You have to start with the fact that Jesus spoke his words first to Jews in the 1st century. If you just take them and apply them to every situation it is very poor exegesis.
