And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant.
You are quoting Luke 19:22, but you are ignoring its context. Jesus was speaking of a servant who failed to carry out his master's instructions. The servant claimed his master was harsh, and the master used his own words to expose his failure to act (Luke 19:20-23).

Now explain how that applies to anything I have said. My post concerns those who reject Christ's authority, just as the citizens declared, “We will not have this man to reign over us” (Luke 19:14). Jesus distinguishes those rebellious citizens from the servants entrusted with his money.

You cannot simply quote the master's rebuke of the wicked servant and apply it to me without showing how my words or actions correspond to that servant's wrongdoing.

Where have I rejected Christ's authority or contradicted His Word? Show me from Scripture.

Otherwise, you are taking a verse out of its context to make an accusation you have not proven.

There is another time I find the title Nobleman, and that is when Jesus is back in Cana where he turned the water into wine.
And that Nobleman was a commander I think. And he didn't want Jesus to come to his home to heal someone, he simply said say it and it will be so. And it was.

There was a Nobleman that also got married in Cana. Maybe he went off to get himself a kingdom with his new wife and on return expected his dues.

There are many comparisons because then you could say that that is Jesus going to get his wife the church and then return.

The question is, is Jesus the Nobleman?

And what about Zacchaeus who was the only one there that got saved because he had good works even though he was considered a wicked man because he was a tax collector, or some would say traitor.

I tend to believe that the Nobleman upon return is seeking something more than when he left it.
And what does the mina represent?
In the KJV it says pound instead of minas or talents.

And I posed a question no one has attempted to answer yet.

Mary by day had one pound of ointment made out of spices and she anointed Jesus' feet and washed them with her hair.

Nicodemus came to the tomb by night carrying 100 pounds of spices for his burial.

Which is more profitable to the receiver?
But curious nevertheless.

So we have the self-righteous "I'm not a filthy tax collector making money for Ceasar like he is" .
And you have the humble servant "Lord, I share and I'm fair, even though I do my job, I do not steal or cheat or lie" .

Maybe the one who didn't rob the people like the other tax collectors did, but wanted to accuse him of his sin because he was actually an honest guy, is that wicked servant?

It depends on whose perception your looking at it through.
Is Jesus telling the parable from his perspective, that he is the one returning?
Or is he telling the parable from the people's perspective, believing that the kingdom of God was coming imminently, and they felt they deserved a reward ?

There is always 2 sides to a story. Depends on which perception you are using.

Yes, Luke 19:11 tells us why Jesus gave the parable. The people expected the kingdom to appear immediately, and Jesus was correcting that expectation. But we cannot ignore what He went on to teach.

Salvation is absolutely by grace through faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

But read the very next verse. Ephesians 2:10 says we are “created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

That's exactly the distinction we need to understand. Good works don't purchase salvation, but genuine saving faith produces a changed life.

In Luke 19, the faithful servants are rewarded, the unfaithful servant loses what was entrusted to him, and those who openly reject the king face judgment. Jesus is showing that His return will bring accountability.

James 2:17 says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

So there is no contradiction between salvation by grace through faith and Christ expecting His followers to obey Him.

We are not saved because we serve Christ. We serve Christ because He has saved us.

Grace does not give anyone permission to reject the authority of the very Savior who died for them.

Jesus Himself asked, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46).

That is the issue I was addressing in my original post.

You are that servant.
“You are that servant” simply repeats the accusation. It does not establish it. The servant’s failure was specific. He put away what his master entrusted to him instead of putting it to work. The master asked, “Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank?” (Luke 19:23). What have I said or done that corresponds to that failure? You still have not shown it.

Asking you to support your teaching with Scripture is not rejecting Christ’s authority. The Bereans examined even Paul’s teaching by the Scriptures, and Acts 17:11 commends them for it. Your claims are subject to the same examination.

Show where I have contradicted Christ’s Word. Applying the label “wicked servant” to me does not make your interpretation true.

That is not the only way that parable should be viewed. The early church fathers, not seeing Jesus return visually, did much the same thing...and abandoned Jesus' teaching of how the Spirit is unseen like "the wind."

Meanwhile, Jesus (Holy and Spirit) foretold of His going to the Father (Spirit) and sending the "Holy" "Spirit" which He referred to as "another" ("not being flesh and blood") "Helper", which began "soon" thereafter on Pentecost, as He said He would return "soon" and "all that must shortly take place." Which aligns with what Jesus told Peter of how He would build His church "not by flesh and blood." Which makes up "the witness of two or three", to "establish every word."

Then Paul came as witness number "three", to confirm--but--giving an explanation, saying "but each one in his own order." "Line upon line, here a little there a little", finishing the "not by observation" reality of what had already begun invisibly in "spirit" right under their noses. After which those 'false teachers" foretold by Peter began to teach their own false doctrine of following men ("flesh and blood") just the opposite of how Jesus said He would build His church only by what came from His "Father who is in heaven (spirit)." Thus, here we are in a world where "strong delusion" has overcome the church because they believed the "lie" that Jesus' was/is coming visibly "by flesh and blood"--not "soon" as Jesus said, but only in the future.
You are calling Christ’s promised visible return a “lie” and “strong delusion.” That is false teaching, and you need to repent of it. The promise comes from Scripture itself.

Acts 1:11 says, “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” They watched Jesus ascend. The angels promised that this same Jesus would return in like manner. Revelation 1:7 says, “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him.” You do not get to erase those statements by collecting phrases about the unseen Spirit.

Your use of John 3:8 ignores its subject. Jesus is explaining being born of the Spirit. He concludes, “So is every one that is born of the Spirit.” He does not say His return will be invisible. You have taken an illustration about the new birth and turned it into a denial of what Scripture explicitly promises.

You also misrepresent Matthew 16:17. Jesus says, “Flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” He is identifying who revealed His identity to Peter. He is not saying that His resurrection body disappeared or that His return would be invisible. After His resurrection, Jesus expressly said, “A spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have” (Luke 24:39).

And why did you stop at “every man in his own order”? Paul’s next words are, “Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming” (1 Corinthians 15:23). The subject is the resurrection of the dead. Paul wrote this after Pentecost and still spoke of Christ’s coming and the resurrection of His people. Pentecost did not fulfill everything you are trying to put into it.

Jesus also distinguishes Himself from the Helper He sends: “I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter” (John 14:16). The sending of the Holy Spirit does not cancel the promise that Jesus Himself will return.

Your references to “two or three witnesses” prove nothing when you make the passages say things they do not say. Neither does attaching “strong delusion” to Christians who believe the written promise.

Stop calling God’s promise a lie. Answer Acts 1:11 and Revelation 1:7 in their context. Your interpretation must submit to those words. Those words do not have to submit to your interpretation.

You are mixing together different Bible accounts and adding connections the text never makes. We need to follow what Scripture says.

The nobleman in John 4 asked Jesus to come and heal his son. The centurion in Matthew 8 said Jesus only needed to speak the word. These were different men. Scripture never says the bridegroom at Cana went away to receive a kingdom.

Zacchaeus was not saved by his good works. Salvation is “by grace ... through faith” and “not of works” (Ephesians 2:8–9). His generosity and willingness to repay those he wronged showed repentance. They did not buy his salvation.

The “pound” in Luke 19 is money. The pounds of spices in John are measurements of weight. The same English word does not mean these accounts are connected.

Jesus also tells us exactly what the wicked servant did wrong. He put away his master’s money instead of putting it to work (Luke 19:20–23). Nothing says he represents someone accusing Zacchaeus.

Luke 19:11 explains why Jesus told the parable: the people expected God’s kingdom to appear immediately. The nobleman’s departure and return point to Christ going away and returning to hold His servants accountable.

This is not a matter of choosing whichever perspective we prefer. We must draw our understanding from the passage instead of adding a different story to it.

You are calling Christ’s promised visible return a “lie” and “strong delusion.”
No. Christ did not promise a "visible return." On the contrary, He set up and taught the terms of a spiritual return "in the glory of the Father", by the Holy Spirit, which is Him as "another [spirit] Helper", as "firstfruits of the Spirit"--"not by observation."

So yes, what you and many have believed is a "lie"--the "lie" foretold by Paul, the cause of "strong delusion", begun by "false teachers" foretold by Peter.

That is false teaching, and you need to repent of it. The promise comes from Scripture itself.
No, that too is a lie. That is only your interpretation of what is written, and what you believe.

We've been through this all before many times--and you repeating your convictions only shows how deep it runs in you.

But again, I will correct you: No, the "like manner" you are quoting above is only part of what is written. Jesus himself said he was coming NOT in the clouds of this world, but "on the clouds of heaven", meaning in spirit...as "God is spirit."

As for Matthew 16:17, you have missed the meaning of that passage completely. Jesus was not just stating how Peter knew His identity--He was stating how He would build His church. Which even Peter described "as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house"--"spiritual"--not "flesh and blood."

As for Luke 24:39--again I must correct you. That passages speaks of Jesus defeating death and rising from the dead--not the resurrection. Contrary to what many believe, the resurrection was depicted at His ascension--a completely different act than Him first rising from the dead. But I speak of heavenly things--how will you understand the full truth, when you are "forty days" off the mark--the very definition of sin?

Well, I have said it before and will say it again--"forty days", "forty years" and even "four hundred years" is a biblical theme spiritually defined and established in the scriptures some 140 times, including the time of Israel's wandering in the desert, the years of reign of both David and Solomon, and Jesus' fasting in the wilderness. Of which Jesus did both--both wandered and suffered in the wilderness, and also walked in glory--"forty days" and "forty nights"--dividing "the light from the darkness."

Stop calling for sin and lies to be believed.

Meanwhile, what I have said not only "submits" but declares what is [actually] true by God and all that is written, while yours is the interpretation, belief, and teachings of men.

So Jesus is concerned about money?
The teaching is not about money laundering, the money was used as an illustration.
These things hide the truth from the wise (in their own estimation), because salvation is by grace and mercy, and revelation from God, not men figuring things out on their own, because the imagination of man is evil from hs youth.

Genesis 8

God’s Covenant with Creation

20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination[a] of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

22 “While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”

`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Like here about sheep
John 10
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Mark 4

The Purpose of Parables

10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the [d]mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that

‘Seeing they may see and not perceive,
And hearing they may hear and not understand;
Lest they should turn,
And their sins be forgiven them.’ ”

13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

They will hear and not understand, but they do hear the word. If Jesus flat out explained everything to an evil heart, I suppose ministry would have been impossible as they would immediately reject it. They will reject it anyway, but it kept things more peaceful.
If you notice when Christ did tell the Jews directly the truth, like who HE is, they immediately sought to kill him, stone him, plotted to put him to death, but that was later in the ministry. For the sake of the elect who will obtain salvation this is how God decided it should be done.

Mark 4

Jesus’ Use of Parables

33 And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.

Jesus Rejoices in the Spirit

21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 22 All[g] things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

23 Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; 24 for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

The teaching is not about money laundering, the money was used as an illustration.
Prior to and just after the parable of the minas 2 things happen.
A man named Zacchaeus gets saved because he is a righteous man in his heart.
Those selling at the Temple get thrashed out of there because God's House is a House of prayer.

Both have to do with the exchange of money.
Even though I do not believe Jesus cares about the money, what he does care about is the condition of the heart.

That's what I get from the parable.
Looking beyond the physical and into the soul.

Can't buy your way to heaven. But you can make friends.

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian Band,

2 a devout man and one who feared God with all his house,
who gave many alms to the people and prayed to God always.

3 He saw in a vision clearly, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in to him and saying unto him, “Cornelius!”

4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid and said, “What is it, lord?” And he said unto him, “Thy prayers and thine alms have risen up as a memorial before God.

5 And now send men to Joppa and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter.

6 He lodgeth with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the seaside; he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.”

7 And when the angel who spoke unto Cornelius had departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from those who waited on him continually.

8 And when he had related all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour.

10 And he became very hungry and would have eaten; but while they were making ready he fell into a trance,

11 and saw heaven opened and a certain vessel descending unto him as though it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners and let down to the earth,

12 wherein were all kinds of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts and creeping things and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”

14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”

15 And the voice spoke unto him again the second time, “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.”

16 This was done thrice, and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17 Now while Peter wondered to himself what this vision which he had seen could mean, behold, the men who had been sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house and stood before the gate,

18 and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was lodged there.

19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, “Behold, three men seek thee.

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing, for I have sent them.”

21 Then Peter went down to the men who were sent unto him from Cornelius and said, “Behold, I am he whom ye seek. What is the cause for which ye have come?”

22 And they said, “Cornelius the centurion, a just man and one who feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by a holy angel to send for thee into his house and to hear words from thee.”

23 Then Peter called them in and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself also am a man.”

27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together.

28 And he said unto them, “Ye know that it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to keep company with or to come unto one of another nation. But God hath shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying as soon as I was sent for. I ask therefore, with what intent ye have sent for me?”

30 And Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 and said, ‘Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms have been remembered in the sight of God.

32 Send therefore to Joppa and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter. He is lodged in the house of one Simon, a tanner, by the seaside. He, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.’

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and thou hast done well, that thou hast come. Now therefore are we all here present before God to hear all things that are commanded thee from God.”

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said, “In truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons,

35 but in every nation he that feareth Him and worketh righteousness is accepted by Him.

36 The Word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all) —

37 that Word, I say, ye know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:

38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem — He whom they hanged on a tree and slew.

40 Him God raised up the third day and showed Him openly,

41 not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.

42 And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be the Judge of the quick and dead.

43 To Him all the prophets bear witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.”

44 While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all those who heard the Word.

45 And those of the Circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Ghost was poured out also on the Gentiles.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 “Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Ghost, as well as we?”

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they entreated him to tarry certain days.

Hello

This thread title has been taken from the Parable of the Minas in Luke 14 and it tells us that when Satan goes away to receive for himself a kingdom, that his Israelite servants will send a delegation after him to state that the Israelites no longer Satan to be their master as a first step towards their turning back to GOD.
