"When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt [sin?]." Hosea 11:1
"But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.
Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;
Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it." Num 14:21-24
After that denial of entrance into the Promised Land, the people decided that they would take the plunge on their own and go ahead into the Promised Land anyway. Moses warned them not to do that. They were squashed at the border in their efforts out of the will of God. What is God's will for the USA?
How much of that Caleb kind of a Spirit is really present today leading those called out of sin [Egypt]? How many of those "saved" from sin that one time after rebelling these ten times [times 100 times 100 and so on] against God really expect to enter into the Promised Land, not the natural Promise to the children of Jacob but those today who really did receive the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, and have repeatedly quenched the gift and decided what it was that God was going to do here and now?
Has God changed? Will God continue to have mercy on people in this land who have rebelled continuously against Him and claim salvation and blessings for their nation as if they had not continued in their selfish ways and called it 'serving God'?
Undoubtedly there have been and are a few with a Caleb kind of Spirit in the United States today, but even they who have received so much... [me too!] have fallen very short considering what God has provided to us all. He gave us the means, but too often have not we squeezed out more for "me" instead of giving back more to Him!
"But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." Luke 12:48
America has been blessed of God from day one with natural resources and an unusually good Constitution and a hope that in the flesh few if any place has had, but instead of moving toward Him and leaning on Him they have regularly and continuously moved against Him tearing down what they had according to their own evil ways.
Seems that perhaps the tenth rebellion is on us. Consider your ways said Haggai!
The Way to get God's attention and help is available, but most people continue along their own very selfish pathways. Even on this forum in numerous threads is seen a whole lot of selfishness as they point fingers instead of humbling themselves before God. 'Much is given... much is required!'
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." Prov 3:5-8
