In yours, only one part of the world sees an eclipse, while the rest of the world sees the sun normally and even during an eclipse, the sun is still shining just at a reduced amount. My view is in line with all the prophecies, many that say all the natural light sources will stop shining such as all the stars. An eclipse cannot work and best of all, the moon isn't red during an eclipse because the part that faces us won't be able to reflect the suns light so it is dark even in your interpretation.

I wasn’t giving interpretations…and really, I never thought an eclipse would be what happened. And even less so with you pointing out an eclipse wouldn’t be worldwide, which I never gave any thought to. I’ve always thought it would be something else but never sat and really thought beyond first impressions of a giant asteroid or many asteroids kicking up dust/debris worldwide to make the moon appear blood red or a lot of big volcanoes going off at once and a thick ash cloud making it appear red. But my best guess has been a whole lot, loads and loads, of clouds because there are so many verses that say that day will be a day of clouds and gloominess and vapors of smoke added to things like a cloud covering the mountain where God met with Moses and Jesus being taken up in the clouds and returning in clouds.

was you saying this: a red moon is only possible if the sun is shining.
And me replying this: but the suns light is diminished by a third in that verse and the moons light is diminished by a third. It would take a tremendous amount of clouds or dust to do that, but when God does it, it would be the reddest blood red moon in history.

You have in your head that the only way it can all happen is if the sun is shining and that the sun will absolutely not be shining at ALL, that it will fizzle out completely. I think you are being way too rigid with things like “black as sackcloth” or the “sun darkened” has to mean COMPLETELY darkened, gone completely out.

I give up. You are way too insistently rigid that every single ray of the sun has to wink out of existence or a “darkened” sun just makes no sense to you. You can’t see past your insistence. But that first verse uses “darkened” and “won’t give forth it’s light” as a diminishment, not a sputtering completely out, a third diminished as the verse says.
And it happens BEFORE the terrible day of the Lord.
The other verse takes that diminishment by a third and adds even more diminishment on top of it and it occurs “immediately AFTER that tribulation, and is then that even exceedingly worse day of the Lord, and in that later event, it’s a day of thick clouds and gloominess and another blood red moon. But you’re stumped and trying to figure out how a moon can look like blood WHILE the sun has completely sputtered out.
Now, at the end of it, all the elements burn up and I do think and suspect then that the sun is gone and the ocean is gone, but gosh sakes, you are so rigid!

The moon is not going to be red when Christ returns. It will be completely dark as all stars and suns everywhere shall be.

All stars are not going to go dark. They are all coming to earth. The sun and moon are the only lights in the firmament. The angels are the stars also given for signs in the sky. At the Second Coming all the stars come to earth.

"And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind."

Stars coming to earth is literal. The symbolism involves the resemblance of a fig tree loosing it's figs because of strong winds.

The mighty wind is the effect of heaven being rolled back as a scroll, and the effect of the angels coming to earth as if the heavens were literally dissolving.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat."

That is the earth that is black. The view is from the moon. According to Genesis 1, the moon is a light. According to human understanding, the moon is not a light. Do you want an answer according to God or science?

Oh geez, I have no idea. I don’t know if a really, really clear night with lots of bright stars might…make it look like a…gray plop or smudge of some sort? Like…it would at least look like a space where no stars appeared to be. Um…I wonder where earth would…go to. No wait…the sun would still BE there and still keep us in orbit…lol, I’m an idiot, I thought for a sec we would just drift away until we came to something bigger than us to pull us into its orbit. I wonder how long it would take to freeze to death…would the hot core of earth keep that from happening for a little while…? For the brief time we would live, we would actually sleep during the day and be up when the stars were out, I’m guessing? Also guessing we would freeze to death long before we ran out of canned food? Not getting back into this silly conversation but I was telling someone about the Alice’s tea party conversation I experienced here at like…two a.m. this morning and it occurred to me that (I’m not a science geek, keep that in mind)my first thought might have been right that if the sun stopped shining, the earth would meander off. We’d been talking about the moon, so in my head I was seeing the extinguished sun as a…giant rock too. But the sun is a big ball of gasses, so…wouldn’t they begin to dissipate? And dissipating or not sticking together in so a densely a ball, at some point, the gravitational pull would wane and the earth WOULD meander from its orbit…But the moon…could pull us into its orbit. Its got Strong enough gravitational pull to effect our tides…
Or we could send someone up with a lighter to start the sun again. A thermonuclear lighter. I think they sell ‘em at Walmart…

That the sun can and does eject clouds of plasma, that darken it, is a known phenomena. They are 'dark' because the huge mass. can be between us and the sun, thereby partially obscuring it and all the celestial light sources.

16/ A ONE DAY EVENT – A CME strikes the earth at a speed of 3 to 5 million miles per hour. It causes terrible effects, but then continues on past, leaving us to recover.
