Hi Franklin,I'm not sure who started this thread about the possibility of losing one's salvation, but I'd like to help you to see that it is not possible for one who is ransomed by Jesus Christ to still be left as a captive of the devil. 1) Romans 8:34,38,39, "Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died -- more than that, who was raised -- who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us."Let's stop there for a moment. Do you see that if you have believed unto salvation, your Savior is at the right hand of God interceding constantly on your behalf. Do you think His prayers of intercession will not be answered by the Father? How about that for security?Continuing to verses 38 and 39, "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."Is that not a good enough guarantee that once you have been saved, you are saved for all eternity?Or do some think that Jesus gave believers only temporary life? That's not what Jesus said, is it?John 10:28-29 "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."This last verse speaks of an eternal covenant made between the Father and the Son before the foundation of the world, even.Who is going to thwart the eternal plans of our God?Salvation is forever and ever and ever . . . that's what eternal life means!waynemlj
Matthew 7:21-2721 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord ,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord , did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' 24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." NOT everyone who are called "Christians" will go to heaven. Only those who do the will of the Father.Claiming that you have salvation (forever and never loose) but still keep on sinning, doing opposite the will of the Father, so how can you go to heaven? I am afraid heaven will be full of such SINNERS who declared "once saved and ever saved"
