So, how is it that the powers that be are under the control of the god of this world?duh....
Is not the government on the shoulders of Christ?

So, how is it that the powers that be are under the control of the god of this world?duh....
It says clearly that there is no power but of God and that the powers that be are ordained of God (Romans 13:1).
duh................................
except the kingdom of God is not the kingdom of this world as you insinuated.
so you are denying that satan is the ruler of this world and the prince of the power of the air correct ?Romans 13 clearly tells us that the powers that be (in the kingdoms of this world) are ordained of God.
I am saying that the powers that be are ordained of God (Romans 13:1).so you are denying that satan is the ruler of this world and the prince of the power of the air correct ?
John 14:30
I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me,
see 2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
The voice of reason has spoken, its to bad a certain person cannot see the OBVIOUS.I think what is being suggested is that "the powers ordained of God" and "the government of God's kingdom" should perhaps not be conflated. :)
You can suppose any kind of straw man you like. :)I suppose you think that the government is on satan's shoulders.
Job 34:17, Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
I am saying that the powers that be are ordained of God (Romans 13:1).
Have you stopped to consider that Jesus spoke John 14:30 before the Cross; and that the Cross and the resurrection may have indeed changed things?
Of course, the Cross did not change the fact that those who are unbelieving have satan as their god.
Nevertheless it is true that there is no power but of God (Romans 13:1).
Searching the Bible for Proof texts that contain the word "govern," eh?
another twisting of scripture if you memorized it then you wouldn't need blue letter bible- more excuses. No, actually the Holy Spirit brought that verse to my remembrance (the blue letter bible search engine helped me to find it more quickly).
Why derail the thread with your obsession with one Bible verse? Do you believe the church should be united with temporal states or not? That the government is on the shoulders of the Lord, is evident by the fact that His cords are wrapped tightly around the heathen (see Psalms 2).
I'll get the popcorn ready for more rabbit trails and evasion.........................Why derail the thread with your obsession with one Bible verse? Do you believe the church should be united with temporal states or not?

a google christian- you wouldn't of survived in a pre internet world.
hope this helps !!!
I'm not sure that I understand your question. Why derail the thread with your obsession with one Bible verse? Do you believe the church should be united with temporal states or not?
It's the theme of the thread. When any church hierarchy has an extraordinary influence over the government, it always leads to persecution and the breakdown of religious liberty. And RL is the most important civil right on the books.I'm not sure that I understand your question.
Not an issue. I'd like the government to be all Christians. But church leaders and clergy should not be pulling the strings of government.Certainly, I don't believe that Christians should be prohibited from operating in government.
AmenWhile there are patriotic Christians, there is no such thing as Christian patriotism. Christians are called to be in the world, not of the world. We're pilgrims whose hearts are to be on Christ and heavenly ambitions, citizens of His kingdom who just happen to be living in this world ruled by the adversary of God. A man can not serve two masters. People have a real tendency to confuse patriotism and righteousness, but it's been said that " patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels," and this appears to be frequently true if not always.
