    Christianese - Wikipedia

Christianese is in no way talking in the spirit or with wisdom, it is a sheepish cult like type of mentality. If you suffer from it I would say to learn how to rid yourselves of it.

Christian Jargon should only be used to aid communication, so people that know what they are talking about don't have to lay a new theological foundation every time they want to explain something.

In academics, jargon is often used to obfuscate so people will think you're smart. This is totally worldly.

Worldly is chrsitian jargon, that implies something is not from God and will be destroyed on the day of the Lord, if it even lasts that long.

I'm not surprised by people who leave the Church because of this.

They still have no excuse. There are many churches that are full of Christians who don't understand Christian jargon. Their pastors know the limits, and will keep their sermons simple.

But something tells me you wouldn't be satisfied by a simple message either. You want something more meaty. So did Israel in the desert.

I believe in Jesus but I stay far away from the Church scene, many leave because of the hypocrisy & cult chatter they have to put up with.

Following Jesus I think is a way of being, not a way to spend your sunday.

A lot of Christian Jargon comes straight from the Bible. Can you give some specific examples of cult chatter?

It could be interesting to investigate these individually.

Isn't all jargon a type of "shop talk" or slang?

I know what you mean about Christianese. My husband couldn't understand saying "just" while praying for someone. But some of the things on that list are straight from the Bible. So, be careful not to throw out the baby with the bath water.

I think it's how Christian's talk Bible. If we look at how Jesus talked Bible, we'll see that mostly he was refreshing the old testament rather than parroting it.

I was a member there for a long while, they helped me deprogrammed from the fundamental perception I had of the Bible. I was not the person who created that thread, neither did I comment there.

Think star trek, where you seem to understand everything there saying but only if you love star trek.

    DJ,

Before dispensing these jewels of wisdom, kindly get settled in your own mind as to whether you are a Christian or simply straddling the fence.

Oh, he's not straddling the fence. He's here for one reason, and one reason only, a would-be angel of light.
