What is with all these ‘church growth’ books and ‘church growth gurus’ out there? They give pastors all the keys and principles you need in making your church program more appealing to people, but what about the message that is being preached? What about the gospel that Paul declared is the only gospel? The gospel of God’s grace, that proclaims the greatness of Christ and his finished work?Where is the gospel of God’s grace that makes it clear to Christians that they are not under the Old Covenant and are free from religious obligations?Where is the gospel that makes clear the mystery of God, that there is now a righteousness from God for all who believe, apart from Law?Where is the gospel that tells Christians who they truly are? The beloved of God, holy and blameless in His eyes, new creations that no longer have the ’sinful nature’ of Adam, but now have the ‘righteous nature’ of Jesus, for He is our righteousness and he lives in us all!!!I pray that every pastor would not focus on changing the external things, but look inward to what they truly believe, and ask the Lord to reveal to them a greater revelation of the gospel that Paul preached. Come on pastors! You guys are the ones who are meant to be leading us all into FREEDOM!www.searchingforgrace.com
