Agreed. But when someone says that God chooses us, that's different and calvinistic.

"Bless me GodsGrace for I have sinned......"and, it has been two weeks since my last confession...I lied, I hit my sister, I chewed gum in school....priest says: do 10 hail Mary's, 5 our Fathers, The Act of Contrition so on and so on.
when I was a child, this is what it as all about...trying to think up "sins" to be able to say something, even though, I had no clue what real sin was.

There are so many ways to answer that.. And would certainly derail the thread...

But i will say that from one perspective, one could say that God chooses all men..
'we love because He first loved us'

Does God choose specific persons to be saved?

I would think so, yes. He certainly chose Abraham, and Israel, and the 12 and Paul....to name a few..

Or does He desire all to be saved? (Based on His conditions, of course).

I dont think its a question of one or the other... I think both apply..

Perhaps we should discuss this in a new thread?

So you questioned him about it in post no. 218.
Here's what you said:
Do you believe Jesus was God? Then when He said as He was ascending into Heaven..."I will draw all men unto me..."

I picked up on what you meant and the rest is history!

I'm cueing PJ in because we're talking about him.
