How many people understand that the bible puts us at a crossroads...to become either a hypocrite or a saint? We can start out innocent before we come to the bible...unless of course we are they who indulge in sin wilfully.
It seems most modern people...who don't believe in a full victory over sin...are forced down the road to hypocrisy by that very denial of victory in Christ. So these don't seek the Lord for the overcoming power of His life of resurrection.
No, they trust in their own understanding by selecting verses from the bible that claim peace and safety.
So unwise.
But the words from God...on a human level...are there to make things WORSE for us (if they are properly understood). A religious bondage is not the best outcome for us...although it is intended to catch the dishonest in a net. God is fashioning both vessels of honour AND of dishonour with us who read about His words. The honest among us will repent and cry out....and be healed.
We are meant to cry out to God for the power (grace) of His Spirit.
Of course it is possible to remain innocent AFTER reading the bible...but then such a person was already given to such innocence (tamim).
I guess this hasn’t been fully burned away yet. I need more wood.I thought you had recently learned a lesson about mocking?
Sounds good. Have a few questions on “overseerer” . Do you mean “overseerer” of flesh? Is that what you are presenting here? There is only One Overseer, only One mighty physician and Healer, only One counselor, only One doctrine that is truth and righteousness and Just and that is God. Has men not seen enough blood shed, enough evil, enough war, enough death, enough power of darkness, enough plundering and robbery, enough loss of His image due to sin, enough vanity and enough bondage of corruption ....to NOT ask for a man to sit on the throne God only is worthy to set on? Jeremiah 33:17-18 For thus saith the Lord ; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel; [18] Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
Do we want a man to set upon the throne to rule...or do we want God to set upon the throne and rule? Do we want blood sacrifices and meat ...continually. ? Are we asking for man to be king or the Spirit of God who IS 1 Corinthians 13:4-10 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, [5] Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; [6] Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; [7] Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. [8] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. [9] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. [10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
are we still wanting parts? Or that which is perfect? Matthew 23:6-12 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, [7] And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. [8] But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. [9] And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. [10] Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. [11] But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. [12] And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
So yeah...are you are asking for overseerer of flesh, as in office over men because in Spirit there is already one?
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
well, you seem more introverted? And to that i can say that a sublimated ego is not an overcome ego, this is a thing much more prevalent in women, seems like? And yet women are more likely to be content, too, or at least were. So imo if one's ego is sublimated, has been locked up in a closet, one might even say they are content, might even believe it, but they will exhibit health issues most likely? We’ve all had ego issues ‘fitted for destruction’ ...mine was starvation in: I will kill steal and destroy to have and satisfy this hunger. Did a lot of damage to a lot of people. Ate the flesh of my children. Chewed on my on arm.
yup :)But the words from God...on a human level...are there to make things WORSE for us (if they are properly understood)
Evidence maybe, He’s fanning the flAme.yup :)
ask your peers/potential yogis/instructors to recount the cost for you, and when you start hearing silly crap or prevarications or emo-love-overflow but no cost, count the cost, if one cannot count the cost to you they are in denial. The cost should be evident in their walk, and if you are unsure you can set a trap for them even. Doesnt mean these ppl know nothing valuable, but i stay under a Right Pastor until i fugure out why i got led to them, and what bugs me about them is almost always my problem too i think
see but you get to define the terms in there, right, i get to define those terms, and my defs are prolly not God's defs, yeh? So there is a little kinda joke built in There, @ "take heed therefore unto yourselves," right before the quite ego-inflating "over which the Spirit has made you an overseer."Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
If we’re seated in Christ we in fact are overseeing. Question is what’s flowing from your seat?see but you get to define the terms in there, right, i get to define those terms, and my defs are prolly not God's defs, yeh? For the very reason of me starting this thread...that many cannot perceive that the bible can be taken many different ways...by design...in order to trap men by revealing their true natures which brings them into a worse place by denial...(or after repentance of course into a better place by the Spirit)...since people will make the truth into something evil...as men do. So we get things exactly backwards if we come at the bible from ourselves. Taking the bible at face value...carnally...leads to the inversion of the truth because of a human understanding.
The law ....the written law meant to make men worse. At first. It reveals the problem deep with us...sin.
Rom. 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Rom. 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
If we repent from our own ways and ideas, delusions, avoidance, dishonesty AND denial...we can cry out to God who will hear us if we seek Him wholeheartedly...to give us the grace to overcome ALL sin.
So then God's words make us worse so that we can identify the problem of sin in us. Sin will bring us down to death. Religious sins just get added to our already carnal sins...and if one is honest, makes us twice the son of hell we were before.
Now all that is needed is honesty...as Paul describes in his testimony. How that the words from the bible actually make things worse...they bring death. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life.
But the problem today is that so few want to be honest. They become worse...but just claim peace and safety through avoidance of the warning type verses. They filter out the truth to make a fine appearance in the flesh...rather than be honest and cry out to God for His solution.
So then, many people get the bible all wrong.
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

The Bible can be understood at various levels depending on ones spiritual maturity. But, no matter what level one is on, or what doctrinal position one holds, it is always the written Word of God.
And, you didn't answer my question. What is the basis for you believing one is not spiritual who holds to the Bible as the written Word of God? You said a lot, but you didn't answer.
Did God whisper this in your ear? Did he give you a phone call? You use a lot of Scripture to supposedly back up what you say, though you didn't answer my question. Why do you use so much Scripture if it is just the words of men and not God?
If the Bible is the word of men, why should it have any authority?
Stranger
I explained the deeper truth...
This sounds like a position of superiority.
And, you didn't answer my question. What is the basis for you believing one is not spiritual who holds to the Bible as the written Word of God?
Precedence shows that it happens. Discernment sees when it is so.
To the one living in pride. To whom? To the one who lives in pride...or the the part of us that Jesus came to save?
We tend to receive things as WE see them...from our present vantage point. So do you see that you are living through pride? To a proud person everyone appears proud. To a man in darkness all appears as dark. To a person in light all appears as light.
So I spoke the truth...just as a man on a ship with a sounding rope gauges what part of a harbour has the deeper (and safer) waters.
But you are only hearing what things sound like...to you.
