Convent creation is just that, God's covenant with man (Adam). I had just posted this on another forum and it's something I had never seen before.

Gen 1 and Gen 2 are different events. The first is creation of all things, the second is covenant creation.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
created

בּרא

A primitive root; (absolutely) to create;

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Gen 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Notice in Gen 1:27 that God created male and female and told them to multiply and replenish the earth.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

probably identical with H3334 (through the squeezing into shape); (compare H3331); to mould into a form; especially as a potter;

Notice in Gen 2:1-2 God had finished his work and he rested.
During his rest, he formed man (not created) from the dust of the ground. At the time Adam was formed there were possibly millions of years that man had replenished the earth. We are not told how long the days were during the creation. We know the age since Adam because we have the genealogy from him to Jesus.

Another point came to mind. We are still in the seventh day.

More detail about this OP.

The Truth, The Whole Truth about Creation

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
New testament scripture in Greek. The word [thousand] translated:
chilioi
khil'-ee-oy
Plural of uncertain affinity; a thousand: - thousand.

Looking at Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a uncertain amount of time, and a uncertain amount of time as one day.

In Genesis 1 God refers to creation as being done in days. There isn’t any good reason that we couldn’t look at it as an ‘unknown length of time. It would not mean that God did not create, it would just explain how there could be agreement with scientific data of dating bones of humans and animals.
Genesis 1
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Gen 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

In the first day, unknown length, God [created]:
בּרא
bârâ'
baw-raw'
A primitive root; (absolutely) to create;

Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Gen 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Second day. Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Gen 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Third day. Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Gen 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Gen 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Fourth day, Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
Gen 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
Gen 1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Fifth day, God created sea creatures and winged fowl. Unknown length of time.

Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
Gen 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Sixth day, God created every creature that walked upon the earth, including man. Male and female he created them and then he sent them out to populate the earth for an: Unknown length of time.

We should see from this that God created ‘all things’ in heaven and earth and also that man walked and populated the earth in the sixth day for an unknown length of time.

Today, we are able to approximately date the length of time that a fossil has been around. It is a God given ability and does not contradict the bible if we look at a day as being an unknown length of time.
We also know that it was not evolution, because the bible does not confirm that.

Let's look a little deeper in creation:
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
In Hebrew, אלהים
'ĕlôhı̂ym
el-o-heem' gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: - angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.
In other words, Eloheem, could mean God and Jesus or God and his angels. Because it is a plural word, we need to at least conceed it would be God and another spirit or spirits. For the following we assume angels.

In
Gen 1:26 God said let us, God and his angles, make man in our image.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
So God and his angels created man, male and female were created.

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
They, male and female, were sent out to replenish the earth.

Now let us look at Gen 2:7 and see the difference in Hebrew wording.
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In Hebrew, LORD is Jehovah the Almighty God (one God, not plurality)
יהוה
yehôvâh
yeh-ho-vaw'
From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord.

Now let us read
Gen 2:7

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The LORD, Jehovah, formed (shaped) a man (Adam) and breathed into his nostrils and Adam became a living soul. The major difference here is that God did not create this man, he formed him. I contend that would mean formed by the knowledge of God.
This is similar to what Jesus does when we are born again of the water and the Spirit.
Jehovah God gave a different life to Adam, he made him a living soul.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The first man to be given a living soul was when Jehovah God breathed into this man’s nostrils, the first man named Adam, a descendant of one of the men created in day 6.
Gen 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
This scripture also points out that animals of the field were formed. This probably means domesticated animals.

Other things pointed out here is that God said there were generations of creation, and that the man God named Adam would be the first farmer.
Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
Gen 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
