Yes, i'm dead serious about this.
I'm litterally...addicted to being tempted to sin. Speciffically, you know those occult temptations i have? I've actully become addicted to the feeling of being drawn to something so vile, so evil, even if i never want to actully do it. I feel almost like i'm turning into a demon inside. I feel so sick and wicked...is there any hope for redemption?

Maybe a good start would be to stay away from video games.
people have been telling me to take a break from them and seek only God for so long...maybe it really has gotten to the point i truly have no choice.
Why i haven't is because i'm so hopelessly addicted to gaming.

If you are saying "hopeless" then you are making your choice already. But I know in truth NO addiction is hopeless. My history has proven that, God is able to shatter ALL chains that would hold us to sin.

But it all comes down to whether or not you are reconciled to God, so that you can look to Him for help in hopeless seeming issues in life.

Then comes what may be the harder part . . . trusting in Him alone for abundance in life now.

What that means to me is that in the times when I cannot seem to resist my addiction, I look for a future time when I will in fact be free, because Jesus promises me freedom. My heart is set on freedom, even when my will still seems defective.

And even though such times may come, even so, we can have real freedom - now - "in quietness and trust is our strength".

The thoughts and feeling hit, we lose our sense of wellbeing, we lose functionality, we KNOW what will set it right, and the draw to either the drug or the behavior (gaming, thrill seeking, porn, meth, cocaine all addict in the very same way) becomes hard-wired into the brain.

In some cases, addictions build up over time, changing the structure of the brain to support that addiction. When you stop the drug or behavior, the feelings and impulses and obsessive thinking and all that may continue, but in time, will diminish as the brain re-forms itself - "brain plasticity".

In some cases, such as in childhood traumas, the brain does not develop fully, resulting in "clinical depression", that is, the brain lacks some of it's structure and/or chemistry. As we grow into these lives, we find ways to counterbalance these brain deficits, but those ways tend to be unhealthy if not downright sinful.

But it all comes down to the same thing, sitting still, or doing something else, while all those thoughts and feelings storm and rage inside us, as we simply don't act on them. That no matter what our minds tell us, no matter what we feel inside, we simply choose to not do that thing, trusting that Jesus has already freed us from it's power.

The Bible speaks of the "deceptive lusts", our flesh lies to us. "You have to", "You can't stop", "You always have", "You know you want to", "One more time, what's the diff?" The biggest lie of all of them?

That this is what "I" want. Because when you ask me, No, I don't! But sin comes in succombing to the lie.

Which has more power? My corrupt flesh? Or my living Savior? It's Jesus!

It is my understanding that Satan will tempt you. Are you resisting temptation?

Praying for you Jabre. Do what God would want you to do because you love him and he loves you. And mostly because he loved you first. Think of all the blessings God has blessed you with. That is what helps me.

Praying for you! Consider the following:

First the man repents and the garbage of sin is cleaned out:

"When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none." Matt 12:43

The unclean is gone from him but he is empty. He may for the moment be without sin, but he is also dry and very thirsty. Emptiness is not salvation but an invitation for something to come in and fill us... often or usually with something even more evil...

"Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished." Matt 12:44

God cleaned it out, but the man failed to move forward and fill it up with the good things of God... so the devils and his minions were there waiting to make it even worse than it had been before... Back into the devil's playground once more!

"Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation." Matt 12:45

So, what do we do instead of trying to remain empty [impossible for man alone] by refraining from practices which lead back into sin? Try eating [partaking in] some good things! Hear what Jesus said:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

I am that bread of life.
Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." John 6:47-51

The flesh of Jesus is the Word of God!

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us..." John 1:14

Try reading your Bible AND talking to God [praying]. Don't forget the second part [talking with God and asking for His help]

You also need to drink his blood!


"Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him." John 6:53-56

i used to try my best...but now i just give up under the pressure alot of the time
If you are being tempted to sin, you need to resist. First, you need to define what sin is. You will find that in the Bible. Remember to pray constantly, as Paul instructed (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Developing a personal relationship with the Lord helps you find the way.

@Jabre When you feel tempted think about Jesus, start to sing worship songs and make your mind move on to something wholesome.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

And train your mind because you are being transformed by the renewing of you mind, learn to know the triggers so that you can take control before things get out of hand.

It is something that doesn't come naturally to us so we have to work at it with the Help of the Holy Spirit.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
