(3) Ukraine Donbass: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Documentary - YouTube

The same basic story of oppression of a divergent minority group inside a country.
Those peoples of eastern Ukraine formed an independent state, two actually as they are culturally Russian, not Ukrainian who is their oppressor.

But you will never hear of their story in the western European and American narratives.

I have heard their story many times. IN 1991 they were part and parcel of Ukraine. they tried to break away and the Ukraine said no. Just like when teh southern states tried to break away and the US said NO! Have their been atrocities? Sure on both sides of the conflict. But the real conflict did not kick in until 2014 when after Purtin had been arming teh Donbas with hand weapons and artillery and moretars, the separatists started shelling teh Ukraine. That is when the Azov battalion moved in to quelch the shelling!

Teh Donbas has been Russian speaking, uses the Ruble, have Russian passports and have free travel to and from Russia if they choose. Doesn't sound too oppresive to me.

But if you think that, then you must think the north was the oppressor in the civil war for stopping the south from seceding.

And to hang your hat on the state owned RT propaganda arm is not a balanced way of research. RT is extremely pro-soviet. they will mix some truth to promote big big lies.

Thanks for the truth Scott, your video is under age scrutiny by Youtube

Yes the Ethnic Russian's in the Donbas have been killed for years by the Ukranian government, innocent women, children, elderly, the Russian language banned, with its books and literature removed from public libraries in Ukraine

Last I heard, the soviets are long gone, and we are not a war with Russia.

Same tyranny with a different name. Putin is a soviet and seeks to reconstitute the Old Soviet Union, no matter how many civilians he has to kill and how many homes he must destroy.

Teh Donbas people speak Russian! Russia was banned as a public language. IOW when you deal with eh government you deal in the Ukraine language! Like about 150 other countries do with th eir national language.

How many people has Russia killed.

Remember gassing the Chechnya's? Killing Ukrainians in the Donbas, and Crimea when they invaded them and stole their land?

Remember the Georgians killed when Putin invaded and stole their land?

Remember the Syrians killed when Russai gassed them?

Maybe you need to spend five years in Russia! Try doing this protesting there! We will visit you in a gulag.

So what do you think of Putin and his henchmen bombing schools, hospitals, malls, civilian housing?

If you accept RT videos as more truth than all the evidence the4 western nations and history has proven, that speaks very poorly of your character.

RT is a Russian state-controlled international television network funded by the tax budget of the Russian government. It operates pay television or free-to-air channels directed to audiences outside of Russia, as well as providing Internet content in English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, and Russian

The defense of Ukraine appears to be lacking. I would expect them alone to be able to field over a million troops. As yet Russia hasn't invested enough manpower to counter such a defence.

So I question Kiev's sway over its own people. And if the heart of the Ukrainian people is truly in the war.

Could it be they are worried about arming those who are not party loyalists.

One Year After Russia Annexed Crimea, Locals Prefer Moscow To Kiev

The U.S and European Union may want to save Crimeans from themselves. But the Crimeans are happy right where they are.

One year after the annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula in the Black Sea, poll after poll shows that the locals there — be they Ukrainians, ethnic Russians or Tatars are mostly all in agreement: life with Russia is better than life with Ukraine.

Little has changed over the last 12 months. Despite huge efforts on the part of Kiev, Brussels, Washington and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the bulk of humanity living on the Black Sea peninsula believe the referendum to secede from Ukraine was legit. At some point, the West will have to recognize Crimea’s right to self rule. Unless we are all to believe that the locals polled by Gallup and GfK were done so with FSB bogey men standing by with guns in their hands.

In June 2014, a Gallup poll with the Broadcasting Board of Governors asked Crimeans if the results in the March 16, 2014 referendum to secede reflected the views of the people. A total of 82.8% of Crimeans said yes. When broken down by ethnicity, 93.6% of ethnic Russians said they believed the vote to secede was legitimate, while 68.4% of Ukrainians felt so. Moreover, when asked if joining Russia will ultimately make life better for them and their family, 73.9% said yes while 5.5% said no.

In February 2015, a poll by German polling firm GfK revealed that attitudes have not changed. When asked “Do you endorse Russia’s annexation of Crimea?”, a total of 82% of the respondents answered “yes, definitely,” and another 11% answered “yes, for the most part.” Only 2% said they didn’t know, and another 2% said no. Three percent did not specify their position.

The Donbass info is interesting.

But as to the reason for the war(s). From my own reading of all the history and background and lead up to the current war it was NATO & EU & US & Soros & renegade-Jewish influence in Ukraine since at least 1988-2014-2022 which is seemingly the real cause of the war. Though Putin also claims he invaded to de-Nazify Ukraine.
Zelensky is not a Ukrainian and he is not fighting for Ukraine but for globalism, fre trade, business, investment, corporatism, capitalism, lewd promiscuity (eg his dancing with the stars and playing piano with his private part).

Same tyranny with a different name. Putin is a soviet and seeks to reconstitute the Old Soviet Union, no matter how many civilians he has to kill and how many homes he must destroy.

Putin is not a Soviet or trying to reconstitute the SU. He is objecting to NATO expansion in Eastern Euorpe into countries right next door to Russia. Like he said himself, imagine if Russia was expanding into countries right next door to USA (or UK or France or Germany).
I'm skeptical of the news reports and pictures of alleged attacks on civilian places. And if it is true there might be explanations like maybe Ukrainians were attacking from them. Other contradictory pictures of Ukrainian protesters making Russian trucks back away up/down a street might show that Russians may be being more careful than claimed.

Well as teh entire Ukraine has only 200,000 troops and only a fraction of teh hardware Russia possesses, it is not a problem. Other than the donbas area and some of the Crimea, Ukraine is fully behind Zelensky in seeing this invasion squashed.

The very fact that Putin has his troops digging in shows He has already failed! If it comes to a war of attrition, Russia will win, for they have more troops and equipment to kill and destroy than the Ukraine does! but if the war goes on much longer- There may well be a coup in Russia. The oligarchs have had loads of their wealth confiscated as well as properties and super yachts. Not to mention this war is costing Putin $20 billion a day to wage.

It is still early, but Ukraine has started conscription. Russia may have to as well to keep up to with Ukraine's numbers.

Well when you wake up form your Putin love affair, you will find out that Putin has been Hitler like for alot longer than you accuse Zelensky of being! Notice the date? Yesterday! Putin has banned political opposition for along time now! He controls all Russian media! Zelensky never poisoned those who opposed Him like your boyfriend has!

Zelensky never invaded anyone elses sovereign territory like your Marxist hero has! YOu need to wake up!

If Russia is such a great nation, why, when the Berlin Wall fell did all those former enslaved nation join the EU and NATO?

YOu need to engage your brain and stop looking so foolish.

And you think Putin is morally upstanding?

So because all the se natrions applied and got the unanimous vote to enter NATO that gives him the right to invade a sovereign nation, annex land no this?

And for the Record Yes Putin does want to reconstitute the old Soviet Union. He has written enough on it to let the world know!

Well Zelensky is conscripting, but many of the forces in the north trying to encircle Kyiv are mostly conscripts from Russia. when war happens, consciption is the rule for all nations or nearly all.

So apparently the Russian military uses conscription as a normal part of their armed forces. There is a mandatory term of service of one year for all males. Many other countries do something similar. Generally they are not deployed abroad, however some are in Ukraine right now.

Molotov cocktails and guns for prisoners: Here's how Ukraine is mobilising its citizens to fight Russia

Prisoners join resistance, citizens given guns

In an address to the people of Ukraine overnight, Mr Zelenskyy said everyone who could “join the struggle against the invaders must do so.”

And he meant everyone.

He said prisoners with combat experience would be released from jail, and told them to "compensate for their guilt in the hottest spots of war".

Ukrainian men and women have volunteered in droves to get weapons and learn how to defend their country.

Authorities have handed out weapons to anyone willing to fight, teaching them how to use assault rifles and throw grenades.

With a population of 40 million they should be able to do better than 200 thousand. Germany in ww2 managed to deploy something like 16pct of their population by scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I seems to me that they want loyalists first and foremost. Which would include neo-nazis from prison and gullible volunteers.
