I got a notice that states this forum was moved to the approate place.

They moved it to the "fellowship" forum.

What does the "fellowship" forum have to do with our continued dependence on oil?

PEAK OIL

Oil production forecasts on which predictions of peak oil are based are sometimes made within a range which includes optimistic (higher production) and pessimistic (lower production) scenarios. A 2013 study concluded that peak oil “appears probable before 2030,” and that there was a “significant risk” that it would occur before 2020,[4] and assumed that major investments in alternatives will occur before a crisis, without requiring major changes in the lifestyle of heavily oil-consuming nations. Pessimistic predictions of future oil production made after 2007 state either that the peak has already occurred,[5][6][7][8] that oil production is on the cusp of the peak, or that it will occur soon.[9][10]

Oil production

World oil production rose by only 0.6 million b/d in 2017, below average for the second consecutive year

Production fell in the Middle East (-250,000 b/d) and South & Central America (-240,000 Kb/d) but this was outweighed by growth from North America (820,000 b/d) and Africa (390,000 b/d).

Folks, I am not a dooms day person that has lost all hope and just want you to fear the future too. I am an optimist just like others here but I am not relying on God to save us. If He wanted to save us He would not have allowed wars or the invention of the gun or hydrogen bomb. Instead He gave us the right to choose our own future and I am confident mankind will make the right choices when the time comes.

The world is, as I see it, unfolding as it should

My advice is to sit back, do the right thing when called upon to do so, smile and enjoy life while you can.

All things come to an end

True indeed...this is a strange place to post it.
But then again...I am bad at hardly ever bothering to looking at where any thread is posted. :D

The end of oil production will be at the same time when we enter the end of the end times.
Just my gut feeling.
We can't go without it right now.
Maybe in certain parts of the world, but certainly not where I live.

Everything we currently depend on and trust, from natural resources to institutions, will be removed from us so that we have a choice between only two things... Man or God. Most will choose man... Babylon the great. But she will also fail mankind for all the nations will be in perplexity at all the things that are coming upon the earth. Total and complete trust in Christ and the Father will be the only viable option before the"great and terrible day of the Lord comes".

I worked in the oil and gas industry for 12 years and I was continuously getting updates about the latest news and discoveries in this business....what was brought to my attention back in 2010 is that scientists have discovered that the earth makes its own oil and that it isn't a onetime supply from fossils of dinasours..

Discovery backs theory oil not 'fossil fuel'
New evidence supports premise that Earth produces endless supply

A study published in Science Magazine today presents new evidence supporting the abiotic theory for the origin of oil, which asserts oil is a natural product the Earth generates constantly rather than a “fossil fuel” derived from decaying ancient forests and dead dinosaurs.

For millions of years decaying plant life, fish, mammal's and other living things living in the oceans die and sink to the bottom. Over these millions of years the living tissue has coalesced into what we now call oil and natural gas.

in my view of things

No more oil means the end of civilization as we know it.

Oil as a fuel source will not dry up for another 10-15 years. There is plenty of time for a peaceful transition to renewable s. China is already on that path and states China will be completely off of Oil by 2020. While Trump picks buggers from his nose and plays with this sticky stuff with his thumb and forefinger on TV for all of us to watch.

yes, what is much more likely than the doomsday scenario, i guess, is that oil will crash as the demand for it wanes

I wouldn't be surprised if the next big thing will be wars over water.

That's what left wing socialist doomsday fanatics told you.

There's lots of water.
It's not distributed the right way.
There's enough for all of us.

Same with food.
There's lots of it.
But, again, not distributed properly.

That's why some people on this earth have a shortage of water AND food.

Yes, interesting.
But did you know that in Europe they make drinking water out of sewer?
And also there's a way of converting sea water into drinking water?
I live in Canada and we have 1000's of lakes with fresh water in this country.

Recent surveys suggest that there may be as many as 2 million lakes in Canada. About 7.6% of Canada's nearly 10 million km2 is covered by fresh water; enough water is contained by these lakes and rivers to flood the entire country to a depth of over 2 m.
