End times - Isaac Newton was closest

If I had to pick an end time date I would go with the scientist, Isaac Newton...

“And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half.” –Daniel 12:7

From a folio cataloged as Yahuda MS 7.3g, f. 13v:

As Charlemagne was crowned king on December 25, 800 by Pope Leo the III so the day of Christ's coming will be on Christmas Day, 2060. If the rapture of the saints (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) occurs seven years before the time of Christ’s coming the date of the rapture 12.25 2053. However… Isaac Newton notes…

This I mention not to assert when the time of the end shall be, but to put a stop to the rash conjectures of fancifull men who are frequently predicting the time of the end, & by doing so bring the sacred prophesies into discredit as often as their predictions fail. I traveled to Tahiti the last two weeks and couldn't help but notice all the electronic devices hooked to databases. All you have to do is swipe your passports and all your information comes up. You can even have your iPhone display your ticket information. We are not far away from having everything stored on a universal database in which we will all be required to be tied to! And for most folk this will be just another tattoo! 2060AD is a very close, scientific, and accurate prediction!

Interesting. I'm not sure what to say other than, I guess we will see, wont we. I guess the anti-Christ thing has always baffled me. I mean, true Christians will know better and blow him off. And those who buy into it, well, they got theirs coming, don't they. Do you suppose, since we have all the knowledge of the end times, i.e. anti-Christ and such, could we, would we, not mitigate it? I'm just thinking out loud here.... But, someone claiming to be the anti-Christ rises up and starts their propaganda, could they not be naturalized by a fanatic or radicals? And really, the world today is so self involved, would the world even notice, or care? And Christians would notice... but like I said, we know better... so, I don't know.... What if?

Fortunately the Thessalonian scripture says revealed, meaning that he will be in the process of setting everything up. I am in hopes that we will be raptured away before the kingdom is fully set up.

A number of clues exist in how Christ expounded upon this topic.

First and foremost, I avoid dates, even with men who I otherwise trust like Sir Isaac Newton. That's just dangerous and we all know the stories of people locked in buildings or waiting out in a field for an event that doesn't come. If ya'll recall with me, Jesus says that he comes like a thief. You don't have a clue when the thief comes, which is the point of the lesson. It's no more complicated than that.

Secondly, Jesus spoke that we would know the season. This is most notable in the parable of the fig tree (Matthew 24:32-35). The thing about a tree and a season is that you can predict around the time what happens. Even without the aid of a calendar, there are certain signals as to the time of year, etc that a tree will bloom, bear fruit, and then drop them. Jesus said we wouldn't know the day, but he provided us with a number of clues to what the time will look like.

Lastly, I think a number of pop eschatology predictions construct an almost comically bad antichrist whose sprouting horns almost and looks like Mr. Evil himself. However, there are a number of stern warnings about not being deceived (Matthew 24:4-5) and Christ himself says that the time will be shortened for the elect's sake (Matthew 24:22) which would imply that he will be killing a number of folks OR he will put on such a good show that even the elect might be fooled through a war of attrition. What I mean by that is perhaps the warning (and this makes sense in light of the warning being written so many times about deceit) is more about how good of a charlatan he will be!

However, for the ultimate proof of his ability to deceive, I'd go to Revelation 13:11. Here it says that the second beast looked like a lamb, yet spoke as a dragon. The implication to me, and this oft gets overlooked in our preoccupation with the meaning of horns, is that he looks a lot like Jesus. He plays a convincing part, can work a few miracles and is quite charming.

I hate to pull too far from the OP, but I think a lot of this will play into it. It's amazing how fast technology has come and how linked everyone is. I still don't think the mark is a physical thing, but a strong case can be made that it is coming to fruition.

Let me share some scriptures:

Matt. 24:21 – “ For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

Matt. 24:24 – “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

2 Thess. 2:3 – “ Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”

2 Thess. 2:11 – “…And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”

Amos 8:11 – “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:”

1 Pet. 4:17-18 – “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

First, no one is going to come “claiming” to be the anti-Christ. That would be stupid and the devil ain’t stupid!

Secondly, I’m not sure “naturalized” is the right word. Could you have meant “neutralized”? If so, the bible tells us that it could be tried but to no avail. Rev. 13:3 – “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”

It is our job to know “What if?” So let me ask you:

What if: Your loved ones were being killed or tortured to take the mark, is your faith strong enough to die first? Is their faith strong enough? Have the little ones in your family been taught about this eventuality?

What if: As Christ said, the worst time ever came and He never answered your prayers? Is your faith strong enough to undergo a two or three year famine of not hearing from him?

What if: The a/c’s effectiveness was so good that he was deceiving your loved ones? Is your knowledge of scripture (which may no longer be available) and the end times sufficient to see you and them through?

What if: some of your loved ones felt like abandoning the faith (falling away)? Is your knowledge of what comes next sufficient to see them through?

What if: Christ doesn’t take care of you for a while? Can you persevere and stand firmly in your faith and faith alone? Can your friends, neighbors and loved ones?

You see, it’s not about us and our faith. It’s about everybody else in our realm of influence! You may be their last hope of knowing what’s going on and why and how they can get through the worst of times assured of an eternal salvation. The point is that we, the church, are going to be sifted like the wheat and chaff. Only the strong (in faith) will survive! But as Christ taught in Matt. 10:28 – “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

If we follow his instructions and are knowledgeable about the end times, then we will know when it is time to: Luke 21:28 – “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

So we can let our loved ones know that it will all be over soon, we just have to hold on a little longer!

I'm reasonably sure that Sir Isaac was a freemason (most royals and those knighted by them have been either grand masters or held high rank in the associated secret societies of freemasonry.) As such, I wouldn't place any great confidence in his calculations (freemasons are both deceived and deceiving.) Date setting is characteristic of a high level of arrogance (claiming to be more clever than our Lord, Jesus Christ.)
The signs of the times are evidence of the shortness of the days and as Christians we are to be watching and waiting for the Lord's return, but knowing a particular date would only be slightly more useful than the vain speculation about one. If you'd like to see who freemasonry would promote to the position of "world ruler" in their advancement of the New World Order, there are clues scattered about through the popular media and entertainment. The Luciferians and illuminatti follow an upward spiraling path to what they imagine to be glory, but they don't understand that the light which they seek is darkness, and the multitude of their paths all lead to destruction.

Sounds a little like the Nicolas Cage movie "knowing," but it certainly could happen. For now, I think that we have enough to deal with in "wars and rumors of wars", famines, earthquakes, floods, and the rising tide of wickedness from those who value the imagined right to do as they please. Judgment isn't coming, its already here, but admittedly, the worst is yet to come.

Yes, we have experienced wars, there has never been a time that there hasn't been a war of some size somewhere in the world.
There have been terrible famines and hunger is continues to be prevalent in some areas, mostly due to political ineptitude.
Plagues have ravaged populations and continue to do so. Modern medicine cannot keep up, as new diseases constantly appear.
Economic problems have been and are now rife. Individual and national debt is now in many cases unmanageable.
The saints have been and still are persecuted. From the Roman arena to the Islamic beheadings of today; Christians killed for their faith.

This is proof that the first five Seals of Revelation 6 have been opened. Perhaps as John looked on, in the first century.

We therefore must expect the Sixth Seal as the next prophesied event. It will be a world changer. We should know what it is, what its effects will be and what we should do after it. Over 100 prophesies detail this event, we have no excuse for not being aware of it.
As Pom2014 says, we do live in good times and that is a problem; we are complacent, our preachers do not warn their people of what God has planned.
Sadly most Christians are in the same category as secular people: in the dark about what will happen. 'But you my friends [should] not be in the dark, when the sudden destruction comes.... 1 Thess, 5:1-11

Ephesus - Apostolic - Paul tells of all of Asia as having forsaken him
Smyrna - Early Orthodox -Foxes lists the persecutions as ten
Pergamos - Orthodox - Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
Thyatira - Catholic - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
Sardis - Protestant - A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
Philadelphia - Methodist-Pentecostal- To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love.
Laodicea -Pentecostal-Charismatic-Independent Rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing?

I have in my lifetime seen the regression of the Philadelphian based church.

... The second experience, sometimes known as Sanctification, is not in practice anymore. People do not make a second trip to the altar for more of God

And in my lifetime I have seen the Laodicean church age come to life. Like a line out of Don McLeans American Pie, you may drive your Chevy to the levy and find the levy dry!

The Laodicean church age most probably came to light with the likes of DL Moody, who took money from his ministry and bought a mansion in Connecticut. This was in contrast to John Wesley, who gave his book money back into ministry.

So with Laodicea we see another form of church arise. Successful preachers in this age encourage the gathering of wealth, and some get very rich off ministry. So now, instead of having a revival, everyone is in the business of managing family and wealth.

I believe in Isaac Newtons 2060 Christ's return date. Between now and then things are setting up for the mark of the beast. Now computers are scanning everything and applying charges on an account. Pretty soon it will be required to get a tattoo that a computer can read with your account information on it. No more need of money! No more need of travel documents! All information will be stored on a database awaiting the scanning of your personal ID etched into your skin.
