WARNING - This is a fellowship thread any debate, arguing, calling people names will be reported.

So with that out of the road. What is your favorite Bible or type of Bible. Since I started the thread I will confess I love my Action Bible , it's a graphic (comic book) novel type and I really like it. I collect Bibles and I really like all types. :)

Here's a picture of the Action Bible:

That looks awesome

I have been reading the the spirit-filled NKJV translation, it has commentary notes at the bottom of each page, it also gives a summary of different views on end time events before the book of Revelations, it gives a summary before every book, what's its about, how is Christ Jesus displayed in each book of the Bible, and a bit about the author, time the books were written, if it's known or thought of to be written during a certain period of time, it also answers some questions at the end of the Bible, many may ask, and has some maps of the Middle East/Northern Africa/Southern Europe and what these places were called during OT times and Jesus's time. btw I do like geography :).

It's an old Bible from the 90s, but I do like it, it can be hard to understand some of the old English though.

I can't decide. I grew up with the NASB and still like it. I guess that is my "go to" Bible because of its familiarity. I like the NKJV and ESV, and am start g to appreciate the NIV more.

NIV has always been my main one, but I do look up verses from others when I study. Never heard or seen the action bible - I like the new journaling bibles , but don’t have one yet.

I used to own a Woman's Study Bible KJV....but it had inserts in it from various ministers and counselors and professionals and I absolutely ate it up....for instance when we read in scripture that He is near those with a broken heart and a contrite spirit.....on that page or opposite of it...would be a commentary by a qualified individual and would apply it to our daily life for today.
It was the best teacher/counselor I ever had. (Well outside of the Holy Spirit)

@Heart2Soul So did you lose your copy or what? (You said 'used to own'...)

Commentaries can be helpful.

What a cool confession! Not sure many would be comfortable with saying that, but why not? There is always something to be said for imagery. Helps bring the Book to life.

I have a leather-bound KJV that's my easy go to, because it's well-worn and has a lot cross-referencing.

But if I were to answer this question honestly, my favorite "Bible" is actually a 17 volume work that includes a six volume Greek lexicon and a 10 volume Interlinear text of the NT. Whenever I need to do study, this is what I use.

It costs a fortune if you by it today, so I was blessed to buy it back when it was only something like $500.

I had a comic Bible when I was a teen and this one peeked my interest when another student in my class had to use one because of ADD and I looked at it and just loved it. My wife got the Action Bible for my last birthday :)

Cool! My first Bible was a blue leather bound KJV that my mom and dad gave me, I wore it out. :)

I do nearly all my daily reading from the King James. The next most frequent Bible in my hands is the Apostolic Polyglot. Next would be the Interlinear Scripture Analyzer, then the LITV, YLT, NLT, NASB, it goes on from there.

And while I use computer and internet Bible tools, I like bound books.

Much love!

I would not call them my 'favorites' as I usually avoid that word with regard to scriptures, but they are the ones I read and study daily. In my regular reading I read the three equally. In any studying my primary one is the English KJV.

I have an old NAB soft leather cover that my father gave to me when I left home..
.used it so much the binding is now falling apart and I have to be very careful with the pages..

The personalized wisdom from my dad, written inside the cover makes it extra-special so I try not to use it much anymore..

My go to is the online version found on the Vatican website.

Peace!

I started on the NIV N/T, and came to faith in Jesus with it.

I read the NKJV now. The whole Bible capitalises references to The Lord, which has helped me ‘get’ certain references to Him in the O/T :-)

Anything that uses modern English, usually the NIV... I can't stand the KJV cos it's too hard to understand for me

I realized I forgot the Bible I use on line which is the Good News Translation from Biblegateway. I also have Bible Analyzer on my computer with various translations.
