But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. - 2 Peter 3:18.

Now as Christians grow and begin to understand the things of God, how does he handle an on going believer. First we need to say he handles all his children the same.. he is their father and he will be in their life as a father. But secondly.. how does he handle those that really want to move on and grow up into him and have a walk before him that is an on going process. By knowledge - your knowledge. He handles all those in him by their knowledge, and understanding of the things of God.

I think a lot of people know that, and they don't really look to grow up because it will cost you. As you grow - that knowledge is what you are held to. When you preach grace.. what is the first thing people hear. "Oh you mean I can live any way I want to." No that is the furthest thing from what grace is.. grace always has knowledge attached to it - and by that knowledge you are held to not violating your knowledge. That is grace - to live what you know. James says if you know to do right and don't do it, to you it is sin.

Believers get in trouble with their father because we violate our knowledge. When you see people that seem to have no trouble what is that? they don't know anything. And most don't want to know anything. Who are those that seem to be in a fix all the time - those that are moving. When you move in God you will have trouble. You will violate your knowledge. But that is how you learn the grace you receive. Read the scripture and see how he handles his children. He is very unique to allow us to grow up, and at the same time he will be a father to you.

Inherent to that knowledge is authority. That being so it is knowledge that forms conscience. Conscience has power to judge our deeds dispense punishment or reward.
Conscience is the sanctuary where man meets with God.

That's true. It's kind of like waking up isn't it!

This is only true if you consider knowledge as direct experience, not as an intellectual understanding. Many Christians give way too much importance to intellectual knowledge and Jesus pointed out how unimportant it is in Matthew 11:25 and Luke 10:21

Believers get in trouble with their father because we violate our knowledge

1- God is Love and no one gets in trouble with God. When we put our hand in fire, we don't get punished by God, we get burnt because fire burns, that's what it does. There is no punishment here, just a law of nature as designed by God.

2- only intellectually understood knowledge can be violated. Someone who knows by experience how painful it is to put their hand in fire just won't deliberately do it again.
