There is one harvest i long for , the harvest where the LORD does come for his sheep .
Let all that has breath praise and thank the glorious LORD .
In the meantime the harvest is very ripe but most laborerers are too busy preaching a lie .
PRAY ye therefore the LORD would send the true gospel preachers into the harvest and win souls while there still be time to do so .

The reading today in the Bible reading plan I’m using this year includes Ezekiel 34. (The prophesy against the Shepherds of Israel.)

It was with that in mind that I thought of John 21:15-17, NASB.

Three times Jesus told Peter, “Tend my lambs” (v.15); “”Shepherd my sheep” (v. 16); “Tend my sheep” (v. 17).

Peter was a little “slow” to catch on; he was “grieved” by the repetition. I’d say the rest of Peter’s story demonstrates that he “got it”.

What about Jesus? What was he “feeling” (about the sheep? about Peter?) that caused him to thrice repeat his instruction to Peter?

Love, to be sure. But also, concern - perhaps even trepidation. As he is about to “hand the reins” to Peter (and others) to shepherd Israel, I think he had an eye on history, and other shepherds (Ezekiel 34) - past, present and future - who failed, or would fail (for reasons of personal gain; putting self interest over responsibility to care for and protect the flock) to properly shepherd Israel.

The flock is exceedingly important to Jesus. We see that reflected in everything he said, everything he did, and everything he is still doing.

We used to go to pumpkin patches as a child and pic out our pumpkin to carve. We would come home and carve our pumpkins and Mom would bake the seeds for us to snack on. Great treat after carving. Fun times.

They have festivals for fall harvest which is what I think this thread is about. I found this nicely presented pick:

Oh, and I checked out the pumpkin seed nutrition info on webmd and you would be shocked by it perhaps:

"Modern science confirms that pumpkin seeds have an impressive nutrient profile that benefits many aspects of your health. They're a rich source of protein, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals that reduce risk factors of chronic diseases, including cancer." Health Benefits of Pumpkin Seeds
