The promise of the life to come always affects the life that now is.

Titus 2:11-13, “ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

Our hope is that Jesus is coming back, but His promise to return does not provide us an escape from dealing with our lives today.

Because we know He is returning, we should appreciate more than ever the grace of God which enables us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, to live soberly, righteously in this present evil world.

Once one becomes a Christian, everything done in this life afterward will be judged to determine the amount of reward he/she will have awaiting in the next life. (1 Corinthians 3:14; 1 Corinthians 9:17; Colossians 3:24; 1 Timothy 5:18; Hebrews 10:35)

Our motivation to cooperate with the Spirit of God’s efforts to change us inwardly is that blessed hope and glorious appearing of Jesus.

John wrote that every man that has this hope in him will purify himself even as he is pure. Hope is motivation to purify oneself. (1 John 3:3)

We are His planting, He is our husbandman, He is coming back to harvest all of us, and the state we are harvested will determine our eternal standing with Him. (James 5:7)

That means we can’t afford to waste time. We can’t afford to be slack concerning our walk. Because if Jesus would come back right now the condition we are presently will totally control and effect what we’re to have throughout eternity. That makes everything we do on a daily basis take on a new perspective.

Indeed, the hope with the time we have left here on the earth..to use it wisely and wait upon the Lord..as time is fleeting and man, it seems to go faster the older one's gets.....not kidding!! Like a built in time accelerator kicks in for folks over 60...

(Heb 6:17) Therefore God, determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of His purpose, confirmed with an oath;
(Heb 6:18) so that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us.
(Heb 6:19) This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast and passing into the presence beyond the veil;
(Heb 6:20) into which as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Before you know it, we will be in true peace and love in the heavenlies, with all the love that as yet, cannot be imagined let alone understood today..

Bless you,

APAK

So true!

Ephesians 5:16 (NKJV)

“redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

For what is grown here, is ours for eternity.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

.
1Pet 3:15 . . Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks
you a reason of the hope that is in you.

The koiné Greek word for "hope" in that passage is elpis (el-pece') which
means expectation; viz: elpis isn't wishful thinking, nor crossing your
fingers; no, elpis is a confident kind of hope that looks forward to something
that's already in the bag, ergo: elpis is an anticipating hope; viz: it doesn't
pray for the best, while in the back of its mind dreading the worst.

When people aren't 110% sure what the afterlife has in store for them-- if
there is even the slightest concern, or unease --they can't possibly comply
with 1Pet 3:15 for the simple reason that the hope that is in them, if any, is
the wrong kind of hope.

Rom 12:12 . . Rejoicing in hope.

When people are praying for the best, while in the back of their mind
dreading the worst, they have absolutely no cause for rejoicing; no; but they
do have plenty of cause to fear the unknown.

Know-so hope is a calling.

Eph 4:4 . .You were also called to the one hope

So when people are unsure of their afterlife destiny; it's an indication that
they have not yet responded to the call to the one hope.

Romans 15:4, "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

All that’s been written in the Scriptures concerning God’s hand upon the saints, all those things are recorded for us so we would say if God did those things in their lives, He can do the same for us, exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.
