How does the narrow road lead to life!

Matthew 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrowis the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Do you see the narrow road being the aisle between the pews leading to the altar in an RC steeplehouse?

...or is it something more spiritual that is beyond what is accessible to the carnal senses?

Jesus is just describing the sinful state of men and their weakness, where the majority tend to be slothful and careless, indulging in the pressure to do their own thing, instead of serving the Lord faithfully.

Following the Lord is not a matter of ritual, although doctrine does guide us. We are to walk in love.

But to follow the Lord is to be aware of God communicating to us through our conscience to serve Him 1st, and others before ourselves. When we walk in the love of God we are not only heading towards life, but we are already walking in life. :)

If you will read through the NT Gospels, you will see that the Pharisees in their hypocrisy favored rituals over substance. They used practice of the Law as a coverup for the hatred in their own heart for Christ and for his message.

You "put on" Christ not by physically putting on robes, but rather, by adopting the ways of Christ. They are foreign to our own selfish nature. They consist of divine love.
