Luke 21 is better...but commonly misunderstood...although it is not exclusively referring to the USA.
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."
This is a picture of the core of God's chosen people and plan coming unto, being given over to, the Gentiles (all other nations), or rather all nations coming before God. Those who love Him (referred to as "
Judea" are told to go ("
flee") unto every nation ("
the mountains"). Being "
trampled by Gentiles"--is not a bad thing, but is an indication that Israel is the foundation on which the Gentiles now walk and build. The woe "
to those who are pregnant and those who are nursing babies" is an indication noting the travail and labor pains upon those who are born from above, born again.
As for the USA, it is the a picture of the new Jerusalem come down from heaven: Discovered by Christopher Columbus (the namesake of Christ) who came forth by Santa Maria (St. Mary)...which sake on Christmas Day; established by 13; etc; the more perfect union and manifestation of good over evil--now occurring.
