Universalism is the belief that everyone will be saved. There are many people today who hold to universal salvation and believe that all people eventually end up in heaven. Perhaps it is the thought of men and women living a life of eternal torment in hell that causes some to reject the teaching of Scripture on this issue. For some it is an over-emphasis on the love and compassion of God—and the neglect of the righteousness and justice of God—that leads them to believe God will have mercy on every living soul. But the Scriptures do teach that some people will spend eternity in hell.

First of all, the Bible is clear that unredeemed men will dwell forever in hell. Jesus’ own words confirm that the time spent in heaven for the redeemed will last as long as that of the unredeemed in hell. Matthew 25:46 says, “Then they [the unsaved] will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” According to this verse, the punishment of the unsaved is just as eternal as the life of the righteous. Some believe that those in hell will eventually cease to exist, but the Lord Himself confirms that it will last forever. Matthew 25:41 and Mark 9:44 describe hell as “eternal fire” and “unquenchable fire.”

How does one avoid this unquenchable fire? Many people believe that all roads—all religions and beliefs—lead to heaven, or they consider that God is so full of love and mercy that He will allow all people into heaven. God is certainly full of love and mercy; it was these qualities that led Him to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die on the cross for us. Jesus Christ is the exclusive door that leads to an eternity in heaven. Acts 4:12 says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” “There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” If we choose to reject God’s Son, we do not meet the requirements for salvation (John 3:16, 18, 36).

With verses such as these, it becomes clear that universalism and universal salvation are unbiblical beliefs. Universalism directly contradicts what Scripture teaches. While many people accuse Christians of being intolerant and “exclusive,” it is important to remember that these are the words of Christ Himself. Christians did not develop these ideas on their own; Christians are simply stating what the Lord has already said. People choose to reject the message because they do not want to face up to their sin and admit that they need the Lord to save them. To say that those who reject God’s provision of salvation through His Son will be saved is to belittle the holiness and justice of God and negate the need of Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf.

Sound it out my friend . we preach the true love of GOD , the Love that desires none to perish , THUS we say aloud , BELIEVE YE JESUS
and YE shall be saved . FAITH IN HE ALONE is what will save one . There is no path , no other way , no other hope .
JESUS CHRIST . Stick to and cling to ONLY that gospel and do so till the last breath . For many are falling for a lie . Its a strong delusion too .
Any love that leads one to a false hope is no love that comes from GOD . OUR LOVE points TO JESUS ALONE as the only salvation .
THAT IS the LOVE OF GOD . That HE sent JESUS CHRIST to be the savoir . That all who do believe will be saved
but all that do not will be damned . Now those are JESUS own words . HE who believes shall be saved
and he who believes not will be damned .
JESUS was so serious about this very fact , that he was rebuking towns and peoples who had not repented to believe on HIM .
HE said it will be far more tolerable for even sodom than for you on the day of judgement .
HE told His own desciples that if one hears you not , shake the dust off your feet as a very testimony against them
Even the dust of your town ...........
Paul knew it . He did just that . And HE was always pointing to JESUS
and when even the very jews rejected The gospel paul said , YOUR BLOOD be upon your own heads
and in another place he says , SEEING you count yourselves unworthy of EVERLASTING LIFE .
THEY KNEW my friend . THEY KNEW THAT ONE HAD TO BELEIVE IN JESUS CHRIST . AND SO by that same grace DO WE .
IF any other recieves not the gospel and brings that all inclusive universal many path lie , DONT HEED A WORD of it .
Let us stick to the original life saving gospel . THAT IS LOVE . Anything else is a lie and is hate .
For what kind of love would ever give one false hope , leaving them in darkness . ITS murder , it is hate to do so .
preach JESUS and do it often .

In answer to your initial question sir, no sir. In fact Jesus stated very clearly that few would be on the road to life. Mat 7:14 That being said, as near as I can figure that only applies to those alive at Jesus' return, where he comes to remove the wicked. 2 Thes 1:6-9; Ps 37:9,10. And he stated clearly that those who sin against the holy spirit will not be forgiven Mat 12:31,32. But that is a very hard judgment to get. I define it as knowing God well, and working against His purposes, perhaps you agree.

On the positive note, the Bible states that for most individuals who die are acquitted of sin Rom 6:7. It also points out that hell/grave will be emptied during the resurrection Rev 20:13. Most of humankind will receive a resurrection and be instructed without interference from satan and the demons who will be bound from the earth, and then be tested for life at the end of the millennial reign of Christ. Rev 20:7, but he will be quite successful v8. So the obvious answer is no, but perhaps not as big a no as many of us think. Nice speaking to you Friend.

The real simple answer is point folks to Christ . Those who believe will be saved and those who do not will be damned .
The severity of GOD is real , so too is the goodness of GOD . Point them to Christ is the solution .
Many folks try and downplay the severity side of GOD . Which is dangerous due to it adds to or takes from His word .
The truth is , Preach Christ as the only means to escape the Judgment and wrath of all mighty GOD .
many folks are learning a false love version of God . So they take away the severity side
and even the goodness they point to about GOD has now become false . I mean look at their version of God and HIS goodness,
they now claim God is love and all will be saved . THAT AINT the GOODNESS of GOD . THE GOODNESS of GOD
the LOVE of GOD that folks should be preaching IS SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST ALONE .
We must stick to bible doctrine and if wewant souls to escape the judgment of GOD ,then Preach JESUS . FOR IN HE ALONE
do we escape the wrath of all mighty GOD . THERE is the simple solution .

John 3:
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

it gets no clearer than this

Exactly . But if we want more
go read luke chapter ten . JESUS told his own to preach that gospel in the cities
and he specfically said that those who wont hear you shake the dust off your feet as a witness against them .
THEN HE starts saying WOE UNTO YOU and that it would be better for even SODOM in the day of judgment
than for those who rejected the gospel message . NOW HOW CLEAR IS THAT .
We must stick to the one and only gospel . FOR IT IS THE ONLY GOSPEL that saved us , and would have saved them , HAD THEY BELEIVED IT .

And we all better get believing in the biblical Jesus fast. This life is coming to an end.
Yes we should and yes it is . and i got but five words to say about this world coming to an end . EVEN SO COME LORD JESUS
that is where OUR HOPE IS . And because our hope is in Christ , we point others to HIM so as they too can have the same HOPE .
Cause , lets be frank , THERE IS NO OTHER HOPE .

Friend of Jesus,
Your thread invites posters to answer your question by making the case for universalism. So though not a universalist myself, I will play devil's advocate and present the biblical case for universalism.

(1) How can a just God possibly damn anyone to eternal conscious torment, when life is but a sip of coffee compared to eternity? Universalists consider such a God unjust and morally mostrous and unworthy of belief.

(2) Famed Evangelical apologist, C. S. Lewis writes, "The gates of Hell are locked from the inside." In other words, souls who choose another path rather than God's salvation can always make better choices and thus be rescued from Hell by God's grace.
(A) Several NT texts are cited in support of this doctrine.
(B) Several NT texts seem to imply the possibility of ultimate release from Hell.
Is the thread's question a sincere invitation for thorough and honest discussion or did you just post to preach? Do you even want a discussion of the pro-universalist texts?

(3) The Hebrew (olam) and Greek (aionios) terms translated as "eternal" don't actually mean that; they mean "for a long time." So, for example, if we consider, "It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment (Hebrews 9:27)," the question arises as to what might happen after the judgment.
