Isn’t it odd that the apostles never questioned Jesus about his forever torture chamber?

Alright, does that mean you’ve created your own church tailored to your personal take on Scripture?
How many members are in this “Jesus’s church” of yours? Just you?
Is it a solo operation?

You lack humility and that is why you lack understanding.

Philippians 2:3 esv
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Matthew 18:4 esv
Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

1 Peter 5:5-6 esv
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.

James 4:6 esv
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Romans 12:16 esv
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.

Luke 14:11 esv
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

James 3:13 esv
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.

1 Peter 3:8 esv
Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

You’ve got it mixed up. I’m not your first parishioner. Keep your sermons to yourself.

Proverbs 12:1-25
"To learn the truth you must long to be teachable, or you can despise correction and remain ignorant".

Mark 4:25
"For whoever has a teachable heart, to him more understanding will be given; and whoever does not have a yearning for truth, even what he has will be taken away from him".

Here’s the thing: I’ve noticed on this forum that Protestants often champion Sola Scriptura—Scripture alone—and criticize Catholics for adding “historical traditions and practices not existent in the first church.”

But then comes @soberxp, dropping lines about “the joy of soaring through the cosmos,” “the world perishing in a cyberpunk-like manner,” “electronic Sheol,” and “electronic immortality as God’s redemption.”

I called it pure insanity, and you agreed it’s a Christian-sci-fi mashup.

Yet, some Protestants might jump in and say, “Oh, @soberxp isn’t blending anything; he’s just using pop culture language to express his thoughts.”

Hold up. So, Catholic traditions rooted in centuries of theology are “unbiblical additions,” but spinning Scripture into a Cyberpunk 2077 script is just “descriptive communication”? That’s a double standard.

Rejecting the Church Fathers’ wisdom while normalizing sci-fi fanfic as theology is, frankly, inconsistent. If we’re sticking to Scripture, where’s the “electronic Sheol” and “electronic immortality as God’s redemption.” in the Bible?
This isn’t about communication—it’s about rewriting the faith into something it’s not.
The Catholic Church did exactly that.

It's my understanding that Judaism doesn't teach such a doctrine. So a forever torture chamber would certainly have been a radical new concept to the Apostles. And then consider that Jesus, who described himself as the "good shepherd", would never stop searching for the lost and who advocated strongly for mercy and forgiveness was suddenly threatening the unrepentant to a forever torture chamber. Yet, there is no mention in the scriptures of the Apostles questioning Jesus about it. Why is that?
most likely they DID

JESUS and the disciples/apostles had many interactions/teaching that we are not privy to = John 21:25

There are many more things that Jesus did.
If all of them were written down, I suppose that not even the world itself would have space for the books that would be written.

Are you just flipping to random Bible verse mode now, or what’s the deal?

without the guardrails of strict dogmatic theology—like what Catholics and Orthodox hold to—you end up with Sola Scriptura spawning tens of thousands of Protestant denominations, each cooking up their own theology.
So, I assume you are of orthodox or Catholic background?
Everyone else views dogma as a negative thing.
Anyone can pop up, write something straight out of a sci-fi novel, and say, “That’s my take,” or “The Spirit showed me.” No offense, but you guys are running without brakes.
I agree that extra-biblical revelation should be weighed against the scriptures. (not dogma)

Is English your second language?

Yes they did. They not only push doctrines not found in Scripture, they push doctrines that VIOLATE Scripture.
Absolutely true.
Think on that. Centuries of lies, billions deceived, still.

God prayfully know His own and calls them out of the lie.

Countless dead Popes ,surprised.

The Catholic Church added the Filioque to the Nicene Creed.
This addition, made without universal consent, broke from the original tradition preserved by the Orthodox Church. By staying true to the unaltered Creed and the teachings of the Church Fathers, the Orthodox Church remains the one true apostolic Church, faithfully carrying the deposit of faith as it was given.

By the way, I don’t have any major beef with Catholics beyond the Filioque thing. But Protestantism? Man, it’s like every Protestant has their own custom remix of the faith. Now we’ve got folks preaching cyberpunk apocalypses and “electronic Sheol.” It’s only a matter of time before someone starts the First Church of Cyberpunk 2077.

As long as our name is in God's Book of Eternal Life and we follow His voice, I think all the bells and whistles of either tradition are just a side road.

My sheep know my voice. And the Shepherd knows his sheep.

Re: Your cyberpunk comment. lol Disco Denominational .

Hey,when people pray to mummified finger relics, "Disco-Denomin" isn't such a stretch.hloclfh .

Oh, please. Judging by your post, your take on Catholicism and Orthodoxy is even more off the mark than @Soberxp’s wild sci-fi Christianity with its “cosmic soaring” and “electronic Sheol.”

At least his version has some imagination—yours just misses the point entirely.

I have not attacked you personally. You criticized Catholics and Orthodox, comparing the veneration of saints to Soberxp’s cyberpunk nonsense, which to me is blatant blasphemy.

Now you’ve openly called me a “fool.”

I cannot descend to such conduct for reasons of principle.

Therefore, I leave this matter to the judgment of Jesus Christ.
As it is written:

“And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.” (Matthew 5:22, NIV)

May God be your judge.

You should wipe that smug smile off your face thinking I'm bound for Hell when pointing out your ignorance and incapacity to read in context my postings.

SoberXP is so far off the reservation they can't see the teepee's.

The Orthodox or RCC doctrine is irrelevant as far as damnable differences are concerned.

The Apostles weren't Orthodox. They sure weren't Roman Catholics.

You insulted me in your first post so don't play higher minded when I call you out for what you are.
