All of the conflict (as best as I can determine and remember) goes back to before WWI.

As anti-semitism rose in Europe the Jews became zealous for the former land known as Israel but currently at that time controlled by the Ottoman Empire.
The Jews as a people during that time had established themselves as pawnbroker/banking institutions all over Europe. State controlled banking really didn't exist at that time. Jews have bad habits of usury with Gentiles.

But...

The Jews then tried to purchase huge sections of desert and other properties in Israel. Usually such real estate purchases were fraudulent. People were selling land they did not own. The Ottoman Empire knew what was going on but didn't care because of their own anti-semitism.

After WW2 some of the land Israel used to occupy during the Old Testament period was carved into the nation Israel.

What is interesting to note that it primarily consisted of what land the Philistines once occupied.

Britain/UK was to oversee them as a territory. But they weren't exactly ethical in their dealings with Israel...they kinda sucked as many assets as they could from the area while only providing marginal protection from their marauding neighbors.

In truth the place was a desert with few rescources and very little infrastructure...there wasn't many people residing there either when the newly formed UN carved it out.

Now the whole world of the Ottoman Empire was in shambles and so were it's neighbors. Governments were very weak from losing two world wars back to back.
A group of "brigands" and their families decided that together they could harrass the Egyptian government and actually take over the country. They used a mixture of religion, political rhetoric, and conspiracy theories to destabilize the Government of Egypt.
Egypt then started driving them out... slaughtering them wholesale in the process.
They scrambled out and went north to Syria and began the very same thing as they had in Egypt with the very same Goals in mind. They never stopped in Israel because there really wasn't anyone or anything much there at the time except for British Soldiers standing guard over a few thousand Jews living in tents. (Nothing but trouble as far as they were concerned)

Syria put up with them for a couple of years but then decided to do as Egypt had. So this group went East into Jordan...which they decided was going to be easier. During this time the Jews finally got rid of the UK oversight.
Jordan and Israel's other neighbors all attacked but the Jews were backed up by US surplus war supplies. Israel took back all former David's Kingdom borders... mostly high ground areas (west bank and etc)

Then this group of rabble raisers were in the start of destabilizing the Jordanian King's rule. He was weakened by losing to Israel. So...he took a tactical decision of offering them the land Israel took from them during the war but they could stay and get slaughtered if they wanted.

So guess what?

These "Palestinians" are from everywhere... Yasser Arafat was a Tunisian. Never was from Palestinian lands. Neither was anyone else in Palestine. There were a few people there when it became Israel. Most stayed...a few sold their property and left. (This time real estate sales were real) but the Moslems liked the creation of an infrastructure and hospitals. They loved it. They also wanted access to the Dome of the Rock. (2nd holiest site in Muslim)

The Jews were scared of the Temple Mount because of the Holy of Holies is there. They didn't want to go near it without the ashes of a red heifer...and they had none.

Also when I personally visited Israel and seen for my own eyes and talked to people there. (Not a guided tour)

I don't think that Israel is always innocent just like I don't think Trump can do no wrong, but you have to admit Israel is incredibly outnumbered by her enemies who have not minced words about their desire to wipe her off the map. Also, Israel is still God's nation even if the people don't worship Him or recognize Him as such because the Abrahamic Covenant is still in effect, IMO.

Jewish people as a group are always personally obnoxious...but as community minded citizens they truly are your best friend.

They build hospitals, libraries, and schools when there are none. Even dentistry practiced. Instead of horrible trips to get medical care you now can do it at home.
