Matt 27:63 is hearsay, so we really shouldn't take it too seriously; especially
when coming from Jesus' enemies. And besides, that verse is up against a
majority of 8 to1 in post No.17 consisting of information that's far more reliable.

BTW: I would advise against using words like indomitable and
incontrovertible lest the hapless day arrive when you are forced to eat
them. Leave yourself some room for error.
Thank you for this gem. I prize it highly. DO YOU REALIZE HOW HIGHLY?
THAT i TRULY HONESTLY AND THANKFULLY, PRAISE GOD FOR IT.

By the buy - what a treasure - Luke 9:21 "And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing; 22Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day"... "Rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes" said JESUS CHRIST of the VERY ONES WHO, in Matthew 27:62-64, on the VERY OCCASION OF them rejecting Jesus Christ's' VERBATIM EVIDENCE, testifying how DURING "THE THIRD DAY HE SAID, I RISE", His crucified dead body WAS indeed restored to life.

O my God, thank you for this wonderful lesson in patience

For example: let's say arbitrarily that Sunday was the women's day. So then
Sunday would be the third day, Saturday the second day, and Friday the
first day.
Scripture for the arbitrary example <Sunday was the women's day>?
No Scripture.
Scripture for the arbitrary conclusion <Sunday would be the third day>?

BANG! there goes...

According to Luke 24:21-23 the women were out at the cemetery on the
third day; so start counting backwards from there.

For example: let's say arbitrarily that Sunday was the women's day. So then
Sunday would be the third day, Saturday the second day, and Friday the
first day. Bouncing from that we get Saturday night would be the third night,
Friday night the second night, and Thursday night the first night: which
would indicate Jesus was laid to rest just prior to sundown on a Thursday
afternoon.

FAQ: How could Sunday be counted as the third day when the Sun wasn't up
yet when the ladies went out to cemetery?

REPLY: Holy days began and ended at sunset; whereas civil days began at
06:00 am and ended at 06:00 pm.

Sometimes civil days began before the Sun was up. For example: the Sun
will rise in Jerusalem April 5, 2023 at 06:23 am, which in the past would've
been 23 minutes after the beginning of their civil day.

Incidentally, Jesus was already gone when the women arrived so in order for that
day to count as the third day, he had to wait until after 06:00 am before leaving
the tomb.

Lest the hapless day arrive a good for nothing post in toto.

Matt 27:63 . . Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet
alive: After three days I will rise again.

That's possibly a bounce from John 2:19 where they overheard Jesus say:

"Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."

Jesus enemies switched "in" with "after" which of course revised his
statement and made it say something that he never actually said.

I think that's fairly common; for example:

Gen 3:2-3 . . The woman replied to the serpent: We may eat of the fruit of
the other trees of the garden. It is only about fruit of the tree in the middle
of the garden that God said: You shall not eat of it or touch it, lest you die.

Is that really what God said? No, that's not what God said. He forbade Adam
eating the fruit, but said nothing about touching it. (Gen 2:16-17)

The woman failed to repeat exactly what God said, rather, she interpreted
what He said. Apparently, in her mind's eye, the ban on eating the fruit
implied not touching it. Consequently; she revised God's instructions to say
something different than what He actually told Adam.

Religion has seriously defrauded us through harmony of the gospels setting the table for our misunderstanding.
Important remark! Religion - the Antichrist Church, has seriously defrauded us through harmonizing the Gospels WITH THEIR perfectly clear and planned MISLEADING SUNDAY WORSHIP PERCEPTIONS OF HOLY WRIT.

You confirm then your blunder, <Matt 27:63 is hearsay>, since you confirm, <they overheard Jesus say>. They did!

Matt 27:63 - no room for error here - impossibly bounces from John 2:19 because John 2:19 does not have 'after', but incontrovertibly correlates with Mark 8:31-33 because Mark 8:31-33 like Matthew 27:63 in fact has 'after'. So you saying that <Jesus enemies switched "in" with "after" which of course revised his statement and made it say something that he never actually said>, only and clearly shows your total ignorance and incompetence in both English and Greek Idiom and Grammar.

Since the time of Tatian there have been around 27 accepted biblical synopses in the theological circle…and yet every one of those has a problem. It is impossible to construct a single account from the four gospels without changing and/or deleting at least some parts of the individual accounts.

In their attempt to weave together sections of scripture into a single narrative there are several accounts (at least 8) mostly surrounding the crucifixion where the accuracy is distorted, and the narrative becomes accepted as biblical truths…this is what happens when man plays God.

I give no credence to biblical harmony which has been adopted into songs, poems, and religious beliefs. God has a purpose for everything he says where, why, how, to whom, and when He says it.

Quite understandable. Much sympathy (and empathy). And you are right! What you say, is so sadly true. I am convinced that it is all because any controlling principle has always completely, lacked, everyone has his own rule-measure. But the Scriptures infallible provide, are/is, the infallible rule-measure and standard.

Test it out specifically at the Last Passover Suffering of Jesus Christ. That you have not yet, is evident, because if you have, you would have believed, and would not have given no credence to Biblical harmony. http://www.biblestudents.co.za/books/Die Hart van die Evangelie - Die Laaste Lyding en Triomf van Jesus Christus.html Greek/English (KJV) Afrikaans interlinear

There is a preponderance of evidence testifying that Jesus Christ's crucified
dead body was restored to life during the third day rather than later after
the whole day was over and done with.

Matt 17:22-23 . . Jesus said unto them: The Son of man shall be betrayed
into the hands of men: and they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be
raised again.

Matt 20:18-19 . . Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall
be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall
condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to
scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

Mark 9:31 . . He taught his disciples, and said unto them: The Son of man
is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he
is killed, he shall rise the third day.

Luke 9:22 . .The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by
the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and
on the third day be raised to life.

Luke 18:33 . . He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him,
insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise
again.

Luke 24:5-8 . . In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to
the ground, but the men said to them: Why do you look for the living among
the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he
was still with you in Galilee: "The Son of Man must be delivered into the
hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again."

Luke 24:21-23 . .We trusted that it had been he which should have
redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these
things were done. Yea, and certain women also of our company made us
astonished, which were early at the sepulcher; and when they found not his
body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which
said that he was alive.

Luke 24:46 . . He said unto them: Thus it is written, and thus it behooved
Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day

John 2:19 . . Jesus answered and said to them: Destroy this temple, and
in three days I will raise it up.

Acts 10:40 . . God raised him up the third day

1Cor 15:4 . . he rose again the third day

So let's beware allowing a stray verse here and there to taint the goods.

Jonah 1:17 . . The Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah
was inside the fish three days and three nights.

FAQ: Was Jonah alive in the fish?

REPLY: Yes. (Jonah 2:1)

FAQ: The whole time?

REPLY: No; at some point in his nautical adventure Jonah went to a place
called sheol (Jonah 2:2) which he located at the roots of the mountains.
(Jonah 2:6)

Well; the roots of the mountains aren't located in the tummies of fish, nor
are they located under the sea: no; they're located deep underground. So,
the only way that Jonah could possibly be deep underground while
simultaneously in the belly of a fish was for the man and his body to part
company and go their separate ways. In other words: at some point in his
adventure, Jonah was deceased.

* Jonah 2:1-2 tells of two prayers: a first prayer that Jonah prayed from
sheol, and a second prayer that he prayed from the fish's tummy.

And then there's Jesus . . .

Matt 12:40 . . As Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a
huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart
of the earth.

Now when you think about it; Jesus' corpse was never in the heart of the
Earth. It wasn't even in the Earth's soil. His corpse was laid to rest on the
surface of the Earth in a rock-hewn tomb.

So the only way that Jesus could possibly be in a tomb on the surface of the
Earth while simultaneously in the heart of the Earth was for the man and his
body to part company and go their separate ways.

Just before being cast ashore, Jonah prayed thus:

Jonah 2:6 . . You brought my life up from the pit, O Lord my God.

The Hebrew word for "pit" in that verse speaks of putrefaction.

The very same Hebrew word is located in Ps 16:8-10 --which Acts 2:25-31
verifies is speaking of putrefaction; viz: Jonah 2:6 tells of the prophet's flesh
just as Ps 16:8-10 and Acts 2:25-31 tell of Christ's flesh. In other words:
Jonah 2:6 tells of Jonah's resurrection; which is precisely the sign that Jesus
Intended, for example:

John 2:18-22 . .Then the Jews demanded of him: What miraculous sign
can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?

. . . Jesus answered them: Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in
three days.

. . .The Jews replied: It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and
you are going to raise it in three days? But the temple he had spoken of was
his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he
had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had
spoken.

So then, just as Jonah's soul was not left at the bottoms of the mountains,
Christ's soul was not left in the heart of the earth. And just as Jonah's body
was not left to decompose in the fish, neither was Christ's body left to
decompose in the tomb. And just as Jonah came back from his grave within
three days and nights, so Jesus came back from his grave within three days
and nights.

If none of this were so, then the story of Jonah would be a pretty useless
parallel to the story of Christ's death and resurrection.

John 19:31-35 . .Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was
to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on
the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken
and the bodies taken down. The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs
of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the
other.

. . . But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they
did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a
spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has
given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth,
and he testifies so that you also may believe.

Since Jesus was somewhat elevated on the cross (it is not said exactly how
high) the soldier's spear point would have entered his body at an upward
angle. The text doesn't say which side was stabbed, but from John's
description, and judging from the intent of the soldier to leave no doubt
about Jesus' death, the heart side was very likely the side they cut into and
the spear point entered just under his rib cage.

The heart is surrounded by a membrane called the pericardium. This
membrane contains a serous matter or liquor resembling water, which acts
as a lubricant to prevent the surface of the heart from becoming chafed by
its continual motion. It was very likely this which was pierced and from
which came the water spoken of by John 19:34. The point of the spear also
seems to have reached one of the ventricles of the heart, and the blood, yet
warm, rushed forth, either mingled with or followed by the liquor of the
pericardium, so as to appear to John to be blood and water flowing together.
Though not medically accurate in our day, John's calling the serous fluid
"water" was accurate enough in his own day.

And the Romans themselves certified Jesus' demise.

Mark 15:43-45 . .Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the
Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to
Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. Pilate was surprised to hear that he was
already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already
died. When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body
to Joseph.

Even if Jesus had somehow managed to survive crucifixion, he would
certainly have died from suffocation later during the preparation of his body
for burial.

They first cocooned him with a paste made from a mixture of myrrh and
aloes; and not just a thin film of it, but seventy-five pounds of the stuff.
Then put a towel over his face and secured it by wrapping his head with
strips of cloth. Then they wound his entire body with the same materials;
and then wrapped him all up like a burrito in a large linen sheet. In other
words; Jesus wasn't just buried, he was packaged.

Gen 2:7 . . The Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

The miraculous process that gave the first man life and existence is not all
that different from the process that restored Jesus' crucified dead body to life.

I should think that if someone can believe in the creation of Man, then
believing in Jesus' resurrection would be even easier to accept 'cause God
had to first construct a body for Adam whereas Jesus' body was completed;
all set to go, ready and waiting in the tomb.

Jesus' soul already existed too, plus God had custody of his spirit per Luke
23:46, so it was a simple matter for God to recombine those three elements
in order to bring Jesus back from death per Ps 16:8-10 & Acts 2:25-31.

Along with the justification discussed in post No.8 is the opportunity for our
own resurrections.

1Pet 1:3-6 . . Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In
his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can
never perish, spoil or fade-- kept in heaven for you, who through faith are
shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be
revealed in the last time.

The salvation ready to be revealed in the last time is most likely the
resurrection that Paul spoke of in Rom 8:23-25, 1Cor 15:12-57, and 1Thess
4:13-18. In other words; had not Jesus' crucified dead body been restored
to life, his followers would've had no hope of bouncing back from death, i.e.
his made theirs possible.

Since you know that the Passover (which is Nisan 14) and The feast of unleavened bread which was Nisan 15 ....(at sunset of 14 Nisan) formally called Abid ....and that the Feast was a high day (special sabbath) and two days following the high day was the weekly sabbath which was Saturday counting backwards that puts the crucifixion on a Wednesday before sunset.
Hello Mr. Cool. I realize your post was addressed to Mr. Edersoehn, but I would like to respond if I may? And let me say first that I am a New Testament historian, so I have worked out my own chronology of the Passion Week based on, first and foremost, the chronology of the Gospels, and secondarily by all the supporting Biblical and historical evidence.

Your timeline and my own are very close, basically only 1 day apart, so I wanted to offer the timeline I have worked out and maybe discuss things?

(Note: Jewish observances in blue, Christian observances in red)

Easter Week Chronology

Since you know that the Passover (which is Nisan 14) and The feast of unleavened bread which was Nisan 15 ....(at sunset of 14 Nisan) formally called Abid ....and that the Feast was a high day (special sabbath) and two days following the high day was the weekly sabbath which was Saturday counting backwards that puts the crucifixion on a Wednesday before sunset.
Hello Mr. Cool. I realize your post was addressed to Mr. Edersoehn, but I would like to address it if I may? And let me say first that I am a New Testament historian, so I have worked out my own chronology of the Passion Week based on, first and foremost, the chronology of the Gospels, and secondarily by all the supporting Biblical and historical evidence.

Your timeline and my own are very close, basically only 1 day apart, so I wanted to offer the timeline I have worked out and maybe discuss things? I believe a primary issue is a misunderstanding about the "high day" John spoke of that is causing students to try to force the crucifixion to a Nisan 14 date rather than Nisan 15.
