This is a good study Heart2Soul.

I noticed there are only three uses of the word Author in the KJV...

1 Corinthians 14:33
"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."

Hebrews 5:9
"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"

Hebrews 12:2
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

What I find interesting is that we are also given three examples of what is being authored...
  • Peace (opposite of confusion)
  • Salvation
  • Faith
The fact that the word 'Author' is also translated as 'Prince', makes me think that there is an opposite Author working against God...

Ephesians 2:2
"Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:"

The Prince of the Power of the Air is the author of confusion.

Where does Faith come from?

Romans 10:17
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

What is the Word of God?

Luke 8:11
"Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God."

Who plants the Seed?

Matthew 13:37
"He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;"

So now I'm wondering...

Is 'Authoring' similar to sowing the Seed of the Word of God in our Hearts?

2 Corinthians 3:3
"Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart."

The opposite would be the Prince of the Power of the Air authoring sin...

Jeremiah 17:1
"The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;"

Seems there really is something being written, or 'Authored', in Mankind's Hearts, thus...

Author of Faith = Writing the Word of God in our Hearts.

The entire Purpose of the Bible is to show how God overthrows the Author of Evil. Hence, the Indwelling Curse of Adam and Eve, the Curse that Effectually Authors Evil in and throughout our lives . . . until Jesus cuts it out and removes it from our Hearts, just as was promised in the Old Testament by God Himself.

Ezekiel 11:19-20 HNV - "I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh; 20 that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God."

And so the Author of Life defeats the Author of Confusion as demonstrated below: (Just as God said He would)

Colossians 2:9-15 HNV - "For in him all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily, 10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power; 11 in whom you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Messiah; 12 having been buried with him in immersion, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. 13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us; and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross; 15 having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

This is what the entire Bible is about . . . getting a person out from under the control of the Devil. Until then, knowledge of the Tribulation doesn't matter, nor does anything else. We must be lifted of the Author of Confusion, and until that happens, Hell is our destiny.

Very well thought out...and isn't it the Word that has the power to bring life into our dead spirit...to resurrect it a living spirit in Him...life in Him and by Him.....
So cool that you mentioned this because God has been telling me to speak His Word over all things. As Jesus did in the wilderness when being tempted of Satan. Jesus didn't hold a conversation with satan He simply responded by speaking the Word....It is written....written by the Holy Spirit. Heard by believers and dwells within our hearts....
Amen.
