Just a little proverb for you to contemplate: 'fabulous people know when to celebrate; spiritual people know *why*' (choice?)

Hi there,

So this is a simple proverb I came across, which deals with the attitude we should have when we celebrate - be it in the world but not of the world, or with faith or with family.

The point is, there is nothing wrong with celebrating something, as long as you don't do it all the time. Moreover, if you have faith, you should bear in mind why you are celebrating, as this makes the celebration make sense (and therefore be more enjoyable).

Now there are people who think you can celebrate all the time, but they are quickly snared by the Devil and can fall into addiction and other vices - that's why it helps to know why you are celebrating! For this reason, people with faith gradually become welcome, in parts of the world (not all of it), because they have the effect of balancing pleasure and pain. For this reason also, people learn to love to look forward to celebration, not only because it is appropriate at a certain time, but because they realise they can celebrate it, without being condemned!

Jesus said "those who are well, have no need of a physician, but those who are sick" (gospels, from memory) - the power of celebration, is that its possible to include those who would otherwise have nothing to celebrate. As Jesus said "don't just celebrate with those that can repay you, but those who can not repay you" (gospels, from memory). The secret of fabulous people, is that they encourage and invite everyone! Now, we as believers have the upper hand on that! If nothing else, Sunday is a celebration of Rest!

I hope this has been of some encouragement.

God bless.
