Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. - Philippians 2:12.

How's does your salvation work out of you, not necessarily your saving grace salvation but your salvation for others. Salvation that is there for others as you see the need, a salvation that works out of you when the Spirit opens the door for you to work it out. As you witness, as you have in readiness to step in with whatever the situation call's for, Christ working out of you in the world. What was Paul's word for a believer; be ready, don't mope around trying to get saved, you are saved if you are a believer, be ready for that to work out of you in every area of your mind and situation that could arise. You do Godly witnessing. Listening to the Spirit Will go along ways because you get your salvation fixed in you solid and then it works out of you the same way.

You have information, knowledge that can be used in every situation of life. Your salvation is working out of you as the person of Christ, his life is presented to every situation of life. Paul mentioned over and over again for his hearers to get this knowledge that it is nolonger they that lived (old man) but Christ that lived in them, Galatians 2:20. As you begin to hear Paul talk in the scriptures you will see his message never changes, he is always compelling the believer to live by the life of another. He does go around and straightens out the church's he started but that is not Paul's message. That is why he straightens them out because "you started well but who hath bewitched you."

The fear and trembling was for the message to stay as pure as he received it and have no influence of man such as soon as a drop of law was added to Paul's message it was not Paul's message. As soon as man's influence entered in to what Paul said was "the gospel" it was no longer "the gospel" but "the gospel" had been perverted. So where does that leave us today? Just like in Paul's day and soon after he was gone, the message was lost except for some that knew Paul's message. What is it today? Man has twisted and torn at the message to where it is not a message among the believers just as in Paul's day. There is some that know but religion has a believer doing everything except living Christ.

So all you are left with is man trying to do to be, that is doer religion. Instead of "being" as Paul said, they have become doers of religion. The world is inundated with religion so the choice will be yours whether to live Christ or portrait some religious image that does not exsist, living a lie. The choice is always in the believers hands, you can do and live anything you want but what ever it is your looking for in Christ will not come about until you "learn Christ" as Paul said, the Christ in you.

@soul man It shows how important it is for faith to be a matter of Godward conviction, and not just following custom.

It seems most people have not only not started out well, but have hardly ever seen someone living right, living as God says to live. Thus all they have, they think, and they are told, is religion...... Most according to Scripture do not ever seek to repent and do not live to serve God or Jesus. Thus, just as written, the wide road to destruction is popular and well populated..... the narrow painful road to life is practically abandoned, with only a few wayfarers on it....

Sometimes you just don't know what to say or how to say it, you see it but it is hard to put in words. Religion has always been here and will continue, that is not the problem. The problem a believer will come across is how to handle it or see through it to Christ, or be swallowed up by it. Thanks for your comment.

@soul man Shows just how the Word really needs to be the reference point, rather than mere religious tradition.
