God’s word is Living and stands...he is TRUTH.

My Spirit was dead and in sin before I became Born Again.....I never knew my Spirit was dead as a non believer....not until God birthed me in the Holy Spirit.....that was then and only then, did my Spirit become Alive....blew my socks off...my testimony and belief 100%

Ephesians 2:1-10

1 In the past you were spiritually dead because of your disobedience and sins.
2 At that time you followed the world's evil way; you obeyed the ruler of the spiritual powers in space, the spirit who now controls the people who disobey God.
3 Actually all of us were like them and lived according to our natural desires, doing whatever suited the wishes of our own bodies and minds. In our natural condition we, like everyone else, were destined to suffer God's anger.
4 But God's mercy is so abundant, and his love for us is so great,
5 that while we were spiritually dead in our disobedience he brought us to life with Christ. It is by God's grace that you have been saved.
6 In our union with Christ Jesus he raised us up with him to rule with him in the heavenly world.
7 He did this to demonstrate for all time to come the extraordinary greatness of his grace in the love he showed us in Christ Jesus.
8 For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts,
9 but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it.
10 God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do.

Romans 81 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, [1]2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.3For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, [2] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. [3] And so he condemned sin in sinful man, [4]4in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.6 The mind of sinful man [5] is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;7 the sinful mind [6] is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. [7] And by him we cry, "Abba, [8]Father."16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.17Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.19The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope21that [9] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, [10] who [11] have been called according to his purpose.29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." [12]37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, [13] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Just a thought, regarding Adam and Eve.

If we inherited their sin.

Then they must have died spiritually, which means God took his spirit out of them, that’s my way of explaining it.

The reason I believe they died spiritually...is, because we are dead spiritually...until we become Born Again,...which makes sense, if we inherited their sin.

Spiritual death is a term invented by those trying to understand what happened in the Garden when God said "in the DAY that you eat you will surely die." Well they obviously didn't drop dead physically so theologians ASSUMED they must have died spiritually. But that assumption isn't scriptural.

I'll back the soul dying and the body/flesh dying.

EZE 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins shall die.

ROM 8:11 and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His sSpirit dwelling in you.

So do you believe that every one who sins has a dead soul? What is your definition of the soul? Is it a MIND WILL EMOTIONS (functioning BRAIN?). Or does that scripture mean your soul has a FUTURE DEATH SENTENCE on it?

And do you believe everyone HAD a dead body before receiving the spirit of Christ which dwells in us after our spirit is REBORN and NOT RESURRECTED?

GEN 2:17* But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

The Companion Study Bible says this verse is better understood in the Hebrew as "in DYING thou SHALT SURELY DIE". It does not mean they died in the 24 hr day that they ate. They received the 'death sentence' the instant they ate on the day that they ate.

NOW show me ONE verse that says a spirit can die, I've never found one. HELL doesn't even get your spirit.

MAT 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Yes, they died in Spirit.they lost that fellowship with God, through his spirit......they became alienated from God, because of their disobedience and we inherited their sin.

They still had their own spirit, but it was alienated from the Spirit of God..just like ours is, until he births us in the Spirit.

Agree.
Not sure about God removing his spirit from them, but... who knows?

I like to think of it this way.
There are two kinds of life and two kinds of death. Listed below.
Genesis chapter three (and 2) don't specify which is being spoken of.

1) Physical life and physical death
2) Spiritual life and spiritual death

We need to bear in mind that A&E were already mortal. Physical death was not a result of the Fall.

Genesis 3:22 NIV
And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil.
He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Remember . . .

Romans 5:12-14 KJV
12) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13) (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14) Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Much love!

My thoughts . . .

The difference between we who are in Christ, and Adam before he fell, is that his spirit was alive and in fellowship with God being created good, and being innocent, and therefore having remained good, righteous. We, however, having been born with our spirit dead, are now spiritually alive and in fellowship with God because we've joined to Jesus' life, His righteousness and fellowship with the Father.

Much love!

The reason I say that is.....I inherited their sin....therefore was void of God’s Spirit......his spirit wasn’t in me...the only reason I know this is.

When he was indwelling me with his Holy Spirit...which went straight into my spirit...he was birthing me in the Spirit as he was dong so..he testified with my spirit that I was his child/ Born Again.

That was my experience and testimony....it was breathtakingly amazing.....the birthing in / by the Holy Spirit......

there is not a question if anyone will be found wanting. For all have sinned and fall short of Gods standard.

if we are left to our own, we will be delivered and suffer the second deth

If we come To God and are born again, we will not be present at that judgment, we will be judged for our works. And either recieve reward or see our reward burnt in fire. But we ourselves will still be saved, even as through fire
Not so again....that is what repentance and constant prayer is for.

Be careful...before eating the fruit...death had not been established by God. Thats the reason He said what He said.

Yes. That's great. I agree.
I question whether A&E had the Spirit. ???
That had not eaten from the Tree of Life. But... who knows?
