I agree. But I think it happened already. We are past, and living in the late days of the apostacy. We're at the end of the rebellion, when rebels have become completely wicked, and are reaching their limit. The Antichrist is here, just not revealed yet.
It's not the "falling away from believing that Jesus is the Messiah". It's the falling away from what Jesus said to do in His Word.
"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?"
The falling away happened already, and is happening now. It was brewing in the late 60's, the 70's, and ramped up to a crazy crescendo in the summer of 2015. The apostasy is the falling away from the things God said to do, the Commandments of God. Those who do the Commandments of God, and have the faith of Jesus.
Like Jesus said:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
The falling away is the falling away from the laws of Moses. Murder, adultery, abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, and the pediatric gender discovery clinics. The governments legalization of it all. On the wing of multiple Abominations.
Even pornography was illegal before 1969 in the US. They were protesting it as recent as the 1980's. Now it's accepted. It's normalized.
Deep Throat (1972), arguably the most famous pornographic film, introduced mainstream society to pornography, made millions of dollars, and was banned as obscene in 23 states. This is just one example of the apostasy, the "falling away", or the rebellion. It is NOT a falling away of Christians from the faith. It's a falling away, of all people, from the things which God said to do in His Word.
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
That word for "falling away" is "apostacy". It means "rebellion". (When rebels have reached their limit). It's a falling away, a rebellion from the Laws of God.
646. apostasia = Forsake Moses. 2 Occurrences.
Strong's Greek 646 has only 2 occurrences of apostasia in the New Testament Bible. And it has zero to do with Christians falling away from the faith of Jesus. Lol. It's first usage was in Acts 21:21, as the word for "forsake" Moses:
"and they have been told about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or walk according to our customs.
The "apostacy" is about "forsaking" the Laws of Moses, which are the Laws of God. We're not saved by the Law anymore, but we're still not supposed to forsake them, or reach a worldwide rebellion against them.
"Thus all will know that there is nothing in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself also live in observance of the law. But as for the Gentiles who have believed, we have sent a letter with our judgment that they should abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality.”
Here are those who keep the Commandments of God,
And have the Faith of Jesus.
Peaceful Sabbath.
