Sorry, but your sense of Biblical timelines is way............. off.
God speaking to Abram (Abraham):
Gen 15:13-16
13 And He said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
KJV
1. "thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs" = Egypt
2. "and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years" = the children of Israel as slaves in Egypt.
3. "And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge..." = Pharaoh and Egypt
4. "... in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full." = after the 400 years that the children of Israel would serve under Egypt. Then they would return back to the land God promised Abram, which is where the Amorites in that time were dwelling and in iniquity.
THAT... return to the holy land was 400 years after God had said that to Abraham, NOT 1948, which instead is way... off! The above timing was only about the children of Israel FIRST ENTERING the promised lands! They hadn't even become a 'nation' yet at that time, having just left Egypt!
Sorry to embarrass you, but you need to pay better attention to the Scripture and think.
Ah Davy, why would I be embarrassed by your ignorance?
There are three separate prophecies contained in Genesis 15:13-16. The first prophecy is about God bringing Israel out of Egypt. The second prophecy was for Abraham that he would live in peace and go to his fathers and be buried when he was old. The third prophecy was that at some time in the future, his descendants would return to the land after four generations/ages have passed and when they do, the iniquities of the Amorite people will not yet be complete. Please note that the first and third prophecy was interrupted by the second prophecy and as such the third prophecy is independent of the first prophecy. You on the other hand want to combine the first and third prophecy into just one prophecy which is not the case.
Because of Israel's continual idolatrous worship during the first and second ages of their existence God scattered them throughout all of the Gentile nations for a further two ages or part thereof until the designated time of the Gentiles trampling God's sanctuary and His Earthly Hosts has been completed.
It is after that time that God will turn once again to gather those of Israel back to Himself and will plant them once more in His earth, such that they can draw sustenance once more from Him/Christ and be taught the finer points of Israel's, i.e., Christ's, religion based on the foundation stone that will come down out of heaven and become the highest mountain/religion in all of the earth such that it towers above all the other religions on the earth and that they get grounded into dust on the threshing room floor to be blown away by the wind. During the fifth age of Israel's existence, those of Israel will be once more gathered to God, where they are living scattered throughout the whole world, and they will worship Him and become once more a Kingdom of Priests, a Holy Nation and God's Possession among the Nations/Gentiles so as to become a Blessing to all of the peoples of the earth.
This, in a nutshell, will be the full story of Israel. To modify this story from what God had originally intended is to deny that God is God.
Oh well Davy, like many others, you have been sold a story that is not God's story of His redemptive love for all of the people of the world.
Many "Christians" will need to repent of their idolatrous worship of a "false Christ."
