Written by a 15-year-old SCHOOL KID who got an A+ for this entry:
The Lord's Prayer Is not allowed in most US Public schools any more.
A kid in Minnesota, wrote the following

    NEW School Prayer:
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
    Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
    That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the State..

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles...
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
    Amen

you get to choose here, see, no one pointed a gun to your head and told you to send your kids there
    yet

This means a lot to me as a former public school teacher. I was called to the principal's office (as a teacher) for teaching about the Protestant Reformation in history class. It was in our textbook, but a parent complained about it. That principal had it in for me because I put a Ziggy poster on the bulletin board in my classroom that said "Smile, God loves you." (I'm REALLY dating myself.:)) Public schools today would never allow a poster like that even though it was pretty generic. It's been very sad to watch this happen just in my lifetime even though Christians have been fighting it.

Though I was unsaved as a child I yet remember the daily reading of the Bible each day. A verse or two scriptures were read and we all said the pledge of allegiance.

Now you might well be fired or face a lawsuit for such things. My father taught deaf students for nearly twenty years.

America is sliding downward. God was kind enough to slow America's demise by the election of Trump. It has slowed but by no means stopped. Has there ever been a time when multitudes cheered evil leaders and their evil speeches? No.

Prayer and seeking God's face is our life. I replied to a Muslim on this site today and even they are assaulting us on every front. Satan is attacking but we have the victory through the blood of Jesus. Amen

Jesus taught separation of church and state saying his kingdom is not of this world. Public education needs to remain religiously neutral unless we want Islam, witchcraft, and other religions indoctrinating our kids under law.

Here's a history lesson for you!

Some of the first community schools in America were started by the New England Puritans to teach children to read the Bible so that they could have victory over the devil. There was even a law passed called the "Ole' Deluder Satan Act," also called the Massachusetts General School Act of 1647. Here's a quote from that law:

It being one chiefe project of the oulde deluder Satan, to keep men from the knowledge of the scripture...it is therefore ordered, that evry township...after the Lord hath increased them in number of 50 households shall appoint one to teache all such children as shall resort to him to write & reade, whose wages shall be paid by the parents or mastrs of such children or by the inhabitant in genrall.

Also, many early public school textbooks were Bible-based. For instance, the New England Primer, published in 1690, was used to teach reading and Bible. In 1783, Noah Webster's "Blue-backed Speller" was published and contained Bible verses. Another spelling text, the National Elementary Speller, published by A. S. Barnes and Company in 1871, contained references to God and the deity of Jesus Christ and Bible Verses. (I actually have an old copy of this speller.) In 1836, the Bible-based McGuffey Readers were printed. These readers were used so extensively nationwide that over one hundred million copies were sold in 75 years!

In 1787, Congress passed the Northwest Ordinance that contained a bill of rights which served as a model for the Bill of Rights added to the original U. S. Constitution. Article 3 of the ordinance states:

Religion, morality, and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, Schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.

America's first colleges were formed to offer training for the ministry. These include colleges like Harvard, Yale, William and Mary, and Rutgers.... How far have they fallen from their original purpose!

The concept of "Separation of Church and State" (as it is understood today) is a recent idea based on the 1947 Supreme Court case Everson vs. Board of Education. Some say that Jefferson promoted this idea, but he didn't! He actually conveyed to the Baptist Association of Danbury in a series of letters that the First Amendment was enacted to keep the federal government from establishing a national denomination.

I remember having prayer and Bible reading every morning in public school. It's a shame that all of this rich Christian history and influence was wiped out in a few short generations! Where did we go wrong???

Do you want Islam or worse taught in public schools at your expense? Think about it.

That's a self-defeating attitude. Islam is being taught in many public schools that will NOT allow Christianity to be taught. So, we have only ourselves to thank for that.

It's as if no one among the political activists has supposedly heard of free enquiry at the Renaissance and Reformation, when ppl learned about the world and about Scripture from what they themselves discovered instead of waiting for vested interests representing the established system to tell them what it all supposedly meant.

We still have more to lose than gain if we try to open the doors of public education to religion. Only petty few Christians exist today and you can assume if the school teaches their version of Christ, it will be false.
