I first believed and was saved together.
About 28.

I find that very unusual.
Even outdoing the Disciples who were face to face with Jesus "daily" learning about Him for 3 years, before they committed and were Saved.

Would you like to know why I trust my faith?

Jesus came to me in a real way.

Opposed to what?

But then many years pass and one might doubt.

Was only talking about you specific.

I don't doubt because I know upon what I place my trust.

What would that be?

It can't be Jesus since we know him by His first appearance. How do we know we truly have the Holy Spirit?

You have eliminated Jesus as where you place your Trust ?

And you wonder How to know if you Truly have the Holy Spirit?

It must be based on reason.

That is what you place your trust on...reason?

Seems like you don't have one.
This is one of the first things learned in theology...

Curious, "whose theology" ?

God Bless,
Taken

i'm curious how Catholics fit nonsense into that; seems to have been written out. "Reason" is anathema to faith, at least the way i was taught it. Hard to make hate your life, hate your family into reasonable concepts, seems to me

Then, you believe that Judas, who had NO truth (Jesus) in Him cast out demons by his OWN power??
You believe that LOST people can cast out demons and heal the sick in Christ's name??
the devil is fill of trickery isnt he, tahts who so many follow after him and why we dont chase after miracles.

Not sure what that means.
However kids should be taught to obey authority.

Actually they work for the government with authority to serve the public.

I never said I was against the law. I said more to the point, not all laws apply to everyone.

I think I see what you are saying...more like your child is under your direction, even when that direction conflicts with other authorities?

I agree with that to a point.
I taught my children to obey police officers, but then also taught them some other things that go along with that...such as;
To ask for identification; how to recognize legit. Id, and uniform; immediately ask for a parent to be summoned; if ever held, to answer no questions, or give a made up scenario, even if asked to, to not draw pictures, and repeatedly ask for a parent and if they can leave....that type of stuff.

As far as teachers; the same, to do as they say, and if uncomfortable or think it wrong; immediately aks for a pass to leave the room, and go to the office and call me.
And always prior as the school year would begin, I always met with every teacher my children were assigned to and personally gave them my own "they can not whatever", and then asked if "they" had any issue with that, now was the time to object.

It is simply teaching kids to understand what authority is, that they respect who has authority over them at any given time, and that What they are not mature enough to do for themselves, one of their parents is always available ANY time to step in.

God Bless,

You're also teaching your kids not to trust anybody.
I don't live there so I should mind my own business, but I always taught my kids very strong rules, but it did not include not trusting ANYBODY.

Just a thought.
