1 John also says "And now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears we might have boldness and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming."
I seem to remember another passage about shrinking away...
Hebrews 10
26For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. 28Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, 33sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. 34For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one. 35Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. 37For,
“Yet a little while,
and the coming one will come and will not delay;
38but my righteous one shall live by faith,
and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.”
39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
So, these "children" have a tendency not to "abide in Him", such that they do not "walk as He walked". Where did they go that they did not abide in Him? They went to idols.
1 John 5
21Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
Such people, sinners, will be blotted out of God's Book Exodus 32:32-33, Psalms 69:28, Revelation 3:1-5.
The whole book of Galatians is about the false gospel of 'works salvation' → justification by works.“ Works Salvation? I don’t remember ever using that term....I accuse you and your ilk of Adding to the Gospel Of Grace with False , Perverted “ Gospels”.....You are “ Fallen From Grace and you don’t even know it....You May as well tear out the Book Of Galatians which exposes you and others....a five year old could see it....
Precious friend:~~ Do you believe it is possible for someone who might have weak faith? To give up on God? Maybe because they have stopped having hope, of or on anything good with-in their life because of something happening from an experience?
If you do not walk in what you are given then would you not be endanger of falling away and out of the grace of God that leads to Salvation? The whole book of Galatians is about the false gospel of 'works salvation' → justification by works.
It was when I came to understand the Gospel of the kingdom that this came around for me.The whole book of Galatians is about the false gospel of 'works salvation' → justification by works.
Yes that is right. That is my exact interpretation, Grace ambassador.
It is like this:
A believer ~ was a believer for a little while, then died - spiritually. - (Either a believer is not feeding the spirit by and through prayer, and scripture by faith and communicating with God.) ~ Something happens in their life they start to shrink back down in darkness, in to having a unbelieving heart again and are not back in darkness, when they once were in the light of Christ Jesus.
~ This may not be a possible thing for you Grace Ambassador, and others here who are believer. To give up on eternal life, to let go of the Lord Jesus Christ, to give up on God. Believers who are seeking truth and are believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and are Children of God by and through faith and having communion with and by Loving God and Love Others through the Lord Jesus Christ by the spirit that in-dwells believers.
~~ Do you believe it is possible for someone who might have weak faith? To give up on God? Maybe because they have stopped having hope, of or on anything good with-in their life because of something happening from an experience?
"False doctrine" has to produce bad fruit--OSAS (in its noblest form at least) is incorrect but not "false" as in "damnable". No, OSAS does NOT of necessity lead to lawlessness--as I've explained, inasmuch as they teach people to "go to Christ" (the entire purpose of Scripture) John 5:39-40, and I've seen not a few who bear fruit of this, they are leading people to the New Covenant method of righteousness "The Name of the King [Jesus] will be 'God is Our Righteousness'" Jeremiah 23:6. They're telling people to go to the source of righteousness. They are wrong in their OSAS and you are wrong to say OSAS necessarily leads to lawlessness.Think about it. Surely you know that it is the responsibility of Christians to reject false doctrine. Particularly doctrines or beliefs that will lead innocent soul down the wrong path...a path that promotes sin within Christianity and leads people to hell. Our responsibility.
A restatement of my point--thanks.Again it is one of the extremes...the Truth is in the middle. Christ, John, Peter and Paul talk to the extremes.
OSAS heaven full of sinners...........................Truth..................................Hell fire and brimstone and easy loss of Salvation.
The Truth is in the middle
1. There is a "falling away" which puts Christ to an open shame, and from which there is no recovering, but there seems to be a "falling away" from which there is a rebounding. It may be a matter of degree, but both have to exist since both are taught. It says of the Hebrews to whom he wrote that "God is not unjust to forget your labor of love"--God takes different things into account when making these judgments. Also, was it a mistake? Were you just ignorant--ie, easily misled? This is a good example why we need to understand that the instant of salvation is different than the instant of Judgment Day.
Now if you go into Hebrews, you will find the extreme that clearly says there is no hope for one that fall away. Then you have the middle that the parable of the Lost Sheep speak of....What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
A user by the name of "Osiris" will "teach" us Christianity. LOL!Only the children of Israel shall be saved.
Matthew 15:24“ I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. “
Gen21:12 “ for in Issac shall thy seed be called. “
Of course people can repent more than once. But one OSASer here said unbelievers go to Heaven as long as they had previously believed. That is Satanic!
"False doctrine" has to produce bad fruit--OSAS (in its noblest form at least) is incorrect but not "false" as in "damnable".
Well, I've seen great fruit so I'll have to respectfully differ. When you say OSAS you stating the damnable form....Satan would love for people to believe that they can sin all they want and still go to heaven. It is a doctrine that plays into his hand. Could Satan come up with a better doctrine himself. People sinning all they want, no morality because it just does not matter, heaven bound no matter what evil you are....
How can heaven be a reward for good people and the abode of God if it is full of evil?
You want to destroy me for quoting you? lolLet us unite and destroy this Scoundrel .... I don’t care “ who “ he is !

2. Wouldn't we want to think about using the prodigal son parable here a little bit? The prodigal son corresponds to an unregenerate Jew disrespecting the Covenant God had with Israel (the context of the parable is a response to the Pharisees who'd complained about Jesus "eating with and receiving tax collectors and sinners"), then turning back--but the topic here is about those who have been regenerated "falling away".
